Very well sung. And she had tears flowing from her eyes, the way I do listening it. She put her heart into it. Wish someone had told them that Gurbani is never sung bareheaded. But I see she has expressed her regret for not having known. The gracious Guru shall forgive and bless them. Wish she sings more Gurbani. Many great singers have paid homages to Gurbani.
I would like to suggest and request all singers that whenever and wherever they perform gurbani shabad kirtan their head should be covered by any cloth because this is a custom has been adopted in sikhism so many years before.
Whenever I listen to this shabad, I always get goosebumps and on top of that this beautiful and spiritual voice made the listening out of the world, really felt like i'm somewhere in the heaven.

I have seen comments in which my Sikh brothers are requesting to cover their head... Actually Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sacrifice is so big.. that these things don't matter... It's good that one should cover their head out of respect...but we are the disciples of a Guru who has told : "Jo tum prem khelan ka chaho, Sir dhar tali gali meri aao..."... Means it's about to vanish the ego... Guru Sahib clearly told" Jin Prem kio tin hee Prabh payo" ... Those who have loved shall find the God... By dictating by forcing others unnecessary we are enhancing our ego... We can request others but respect is in the heart... Someone was once asking Guru Gobind Singh Ji... In sikhisim cover head is not show off it is devoting respect. Same like in church it is ok to bring shoes in and in temple and gurduwara it considered wrong.
@KARAN7497, the only request is if someone is singing Gurbani in the presence of audience, at least that person or group of persons should could cover their head. The girl is having a beautiful voice, I have no regrets but the music becomes more beautiful when people follow it's protocols. I'm not interested to debate that we belong from that big ocean but do always remember that when the pride of this ocean was in danger, there was only Guru Teg Bahurdur ji who came in front with his disciples to answer the brutal emperor. (be it any scripture...) is sung...one needs to cover head for that moment of time.....jab koi human invented song gaya jaae toh it's ur wish...but yeh song is not a human song...toh isko gaane ke liye positively respect sikhaana chahiye... aur sikh laws bhi yehi kehte hai koshish kariye ki iss baat ko positively lein... har baat mein doosre ki intention hurt karne ki nai hoti.... and we really appreciate the woman's heartfelt singing

Dear pooja, The shabad sung by you, is written by Deshmesh Pita ,sarbans Dani Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj, in forests of Machiwara, after he left chamkaur sahib fortress where he with handful of brave Sikhs fought bloody battle against heavy odds and made sacrifice of his devout Sikhs including his two sons. Tyrant mugals despite being numerically superior could not harm guru ji..... needless to say Guru Gobind Singh ji led from the front and always displayed exemplary bravery......he thus proved his teaching " chirian te mein baaj turaun ,tabhe Gobind Singh naam kahaun" means I will make seemingly weak sparrows fight against powerful hawk and made them defeat him only then I should be addressed as Gobind Singh. Having sacrificed his entire family, to include parents,four sons and ultimately himself (His two elder sons made supreme sacrifice at battle of chamkaur and other two younger sons aged 5 and 7 years, who were taken in custody by deceit were bricked alive by ruler of sirhand as they declined his offer to convert to Islam)...he ordered his Sikhs......Jo humko parmeshwer uchre teh Sab Nark kundh mein pareh..... means anyone who worships me as God will go to the hell. He further says that he is simply a humble servant of God and has come to this world on HIS order... It's really pinnacle of humility....pooja,you have beautifully sung the shabad with matching emotions......it's an excellent performance. Is that possible that Guru ji saying pot of Liqure is Like sool to me and Pyala (peg ) is like Khanjar to me without you. Its expressions of a Sharabi .. Yarad da Saanu Sathar Changa bhath 'khedea' da rehna . Khede was the village were heer was married . Way guru ji Said that Bhath khedean da rehna.. Was Guruji living in khede ?
Actually it means a lot to cover your head with any type of headgear while reciting hymn but your articulation, rhythm and most prominent sweet voice dominates all these.. It really touches the core of the heart.However this shabad is belonged to religious scenario we can't deny their feelings and emotions too.

I read some good comments and I would like to add on with regards to the scaf over the head. In the northern society, women would cover their head with a wail in reverence, respect and to show humbleness to any elderly or a wise person. The Sikh Guru Banni is taken as the embodyment of our Gurus. They are the authenticate writings from their holy lips and for us they are Godly gospels. To those poems that has come through their thoughts and lips we all Sikhs and the followers revere with utmost respect. Covering our head is one of the cultural way to show the respect. Hence the wail over the head. That's the custom and has become a norm in our Sikh society. You were ignorent, so no harm done. Don't feel guilty. Covering head while singing any verse of Gurbani is just a symbol of respect to the thought (Shabad), and we do that while rendering Kabir, Farid, Ravidas or Namdev's Shabads too. Is going to a temple barefoot a Talibani restriction? Please ask the hardliners of religion to come and embrace everyone like Khalsas do while serving langar in Gurudwaras or needy in any situation rather than calling others Talibanis.

I have seen comments in which my Sikh brothers are requesting to cover their head... Actually Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sacrifice is so big.. that these things don't matter... It's good that one should cover their head out of respect...but we are the disciples of a Guru who has told : "Jo tum prem khelan ka chaho, Sir dhar tali gali meri aao..."... Means it's about to vanish the ego... Guru Sahib clearly told" Jin Prem kio tin hee Prabh payo" ... Those who have loved shall find the God... By dictating by forcing others unnecessary we are enhancing our ego... We can request others but respect is in the heart... Someone was once asking Guru Gobind Singh Ji... Who are these people who are roaming with you...he said with Humility: " you are asking me who are there because of these people i am walking around..." Inhi Ki Kirpa ke saje hum hain, nahi moso gareeb crore pade"... Such was his humility... If King of Kings is saying this then: who are we... We are nothing, not even the dust of their feet... So we have to understand the Gurbani rather than adopting these rituals... Nanak ke ghar Kewal Naam... Inko Naam Hukum Hai Nanak, Satguru Diya Bujha jio...means : " Nanak , order is to meditate on Nam ( Word) which a perfect living Master can give...only

(be it any scripture...) is sung...one needs to cover head for that moment of time.....jab koi human invented song gaya jaae toh it's ur wish...but yeh song is not a human song...toh isko gaane ke liye positively respect sikhaana chahiye... aur sikh laws bhi yehi kehte hai

Dear pooja, The shabad sung by you, is written by Deshmesh Pita ,sarbans Dani Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj, in forests of Machiwara, after he left chamkaur sahib fortress where he with handful of brave Sikhs fought bloody battle against heavy odds and made sacrifice of his devout Sikhs including his two sons. Tyrant mugals despite being numerically superior could not harm guru ji..... needless to say Guru Gobind Singh ji led from the front and always displayed exemplary bravery......he thus proved his teaching " chirian te mein baaj turaun ,tabhe Gobind Singh naam kahaun" means I will make seemingly weak sparrows fight against powerful hawk and made them defeat him only then I should be addressed as Gobind Singh. Having sacrificed his entire family, to include parents,four sons and ultimately himself (His two elder sons made supreme sacrifice at battle of chamkaur and other two younger sons aged 5 and 7 years, who were taken in custody by deceit were bricked alive by ruler of sirhand as they declined his offer to convert to Islam)...he ordered his Sikhs......Jo humko parmeshwer uchre teh Sab Nark kundh mein pareh..... means anyone who worships me as God will go to the hell. He further says that he is simply a humble servant of God and has come to this world on HIS order... It's really pinnacle of humility....pooja,you have beautifully sung the shabad with matching emotions......it's an excellent performance. I read some good comments and I would like to add on with regards to the scaf over the head. In the northern society, women would cover their head with a wail in reverence, respect and to show humbleness to any elderly or a wise person. The Sikh Guru Banni is taken as the embodyment of our Gurus. They are the authenticate writings from their holy lips and for us they are Godly gospels. To those poems that has come through their thoughts and lips we all Sikhs and the followers revere with utmost respect. Covering our head is one of the cultural way to show the respect. Hence the wail over the head. That's the custom and has become a norm in our Sikh society. You were ignorent, so no harm done. Don't feel guilty. Covering head while singing any verse of Gurbani is just a symbol of respect to the thought (Shabad), and we do that while rendering Kabir, Farid, Ravidas or Namdev's Shabads too. Is going to a temple barefoot a Talibani restriction? Please ask the hardliners of religion to come and embrace everyone like Khalsas do while serving langar in Gurudwaras or needy in any situation rather than calling others Talibanis.
