You should never dry your brushes like this. They should either be resting on their sides on paper towels or brush end down so water doesn't collect in metal ferrule that's holding bristles to handle. Water causes deterioration to the glue used to hold bristles in place. You should also reshape your brushes prior to drying.

I think that was just an extra piece that i guess can be used to set the brushes on.

Yes! Has to be plugged in as it does not have internal batteries to run it.
What did you add with water? is there any special soap or liquid with this machine?
i just used a dab of dawn soap to clean my brushes
But brushes still look dirty. Is old residue that can’t b removed at all
