- This video, taken by Tom Roche, is part of the first performance of this special duo piano project we have launched, in order to expose more people to some of the brilliant early music of the great British progressive rock band Genesis. This is the tour de force from our recital at the Manhattan School of Music on January 27th, 2011. Hope you enjoy and do yourself a favor and check out some early Genesis!

Bless you guys. People need to see how brilliant Genesis were and keep their music alive and available to a wider audience. Superb!!!
Bravo!!! as an avid fan of Gabriel/Hackett era Genesis. and yes i STILL listen to Genesis in 2012. I appreciate the skill and passion it takes to write and play this music. and both of you have it. THANK YOU
Hi Guys--
Great job with the performance of some really compelling Music, done with the spirit and vitality Genesis would undoubtedly appreciate!
Thanks for your kind words! We appreciate the support! We will be coming out with some new video material this October.
Thanks for your kind words! We are very excited about the future of this project and it means a lot to us that we have support from Genesis fans.
Ahhhhh... a weekend I needed to R&R and my favorite pop music performed on my favorite instrumentation. I'm happy to know know that years of calling Genesis home has company with other artists.
Wow - brilliant playing and really shows the musical genius of Genesis. Man that was good!
hearing the best guitar solo ever played on 2 pianos is a very wonderful experience indeed , well done guys , has Mr hackett seen this ???
Thanks a lot! I doubt that Steve has seen this or knows about the project. Although I was actually fortunate enough to have lunch with him two years ago, right before this project was created. I did email the clip to his manager but I doubt it ever got to him. And I completely agree, this is the best rock guitar solo ever.
Long ago I had a dream that I learn to play piano and play Genesis transcriptions. Now I cannot play piano but I have two great sons who like old Genesis albums. This is called Life. :-)
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! This is Angelo (from a new account- can't log into the one I created the video with!) Adam and I will be touring our Genesis show this March in various Steinway galleries. Check out my website for further details and to see if we are performing in your area!!
absolutely incredible. i soaked up every intricate second of it. 10/5
Yes we arranged all of the music ourselves. We didn't write any of them out on manuscript paper, but we arranged them together and memorized them. Thanks for listening!
Beautiful arrangement, I particularly like the way you played Hackett's guitar solo part, absolutely gorgeous!!
I think... this music... I mean guys this is the best ever made
Very beautiful absolutely WOAOOOOOOW!!!!!!
AMMAZZA, SUPERLATIVI! Remember that Genesis had their consecration in Italy, particularly in Rome, where in 22/01/1973, they exhibited themselves in extraordinary way. Io c'ero (I was there!)!
Speechless, this is brilliant.
Rutherford,Banks,Hackett,Collins, Gabriel little more Banks?Rutherford ; superb,guys,superb!!! selection #7 on God's jukebox !
This is quite beautiful. Please come to Los Angeles.
amazing. This makes me super happy :)
Beautiful!
You guys are AMAZING. Performance and Arrangement was Incredible!! I'm a 30 year Genesis fan so this was a surprising interpretation I never expected! Please let me know if you ever make it to LA..
Love. Love. Love.
expertly played!!
Wow you are really incredible !
here come the goose bumbs dam
Please like the Genesis Piano Project (which is now the name of this duo) on Facebook! We will be posting many new videos including our most recent performance of this medley.
beautiful !!
I agree.. I'd like to hear more play on dynamics (though to be fair its not a great recording for audio). I also would like to hear also some of the melodies not be doubled. The dueling piano is definitely needed for 9/8ths but should probably do a little less doubling in 5 of 5. Love it guys! When does the album come out? Count me in!
Fortunato da una parte (a mio parere sono stati il miglior gruppo nella storia del rock), sfortunato perché ormai non sono più un ragazzino! :(
I commented on this video earlier. I was going through some of my genesis collection and came back here. To execute Firth of Fifth the way you guys did is a task in itself. My question is did you arrange this yourself?
che fortuna T_T vorrei essere nato 30 anni prima T_T
e bravi!
