Excellent video Guys. Nice to meeting you both at Model Rail Scotland. Although i have approximately 15 of the Hornby model class 60, you've convinced me that i need to order a sound fitted Cavalex version.
Following up on my last comment. I am getting a least 5 of them now because they are cracking models and we have specials coming from Rails of Sheffield to boot as well as 60029 from KP 😊.
Excellent news Alex and Cav. I have ordered mine already to go with my 56 and rakes of your coal and steel wagons. Intrigued about the extras still to be announced, but if flange squeal was new last time, I am sure it will be an incremental step
Oh I love this! I think Cavelex Models have convinced me to get just one even though I mostly cover N gauge these days. I will make an exception here. 60018 seems promising.
Good luck to them with this endeavour and not targeted specifically to Cavalex but I struggle to understand the profitability in duplicating models like the 60, when the current offering from Hornby is a very good model. Tooling costs for multi-draw tools are horrific, I can't get my head around the ROI as available market opportunity can't be that big - unless i'm missing something, and happy to stand corrected. If it's a better model for a lower price, fair enough - that's the way to 'Win'. But the Hornby sets a high-bar already, just at a high(er) price. That being said, as a returning modeller, modelling the early 90's in the west country, I will need a 60 in due course. ;)
Detail wise its a good model but the Hornby 60 isn't without its problems and it does show its age in some regards, especially in its poor DCC provision restricted by its 8 pin setup. The 'updated' Hornby class 56 which now has a 21 pin socket still has the same limited functionality of the 8 pin versions, I'd expect their 60 to be the same. Something to a more modern specification to keep up with the likes of Bachmann and Accurascale is most welcome...now if only they'd look towards the class 58!
Brilliant, can't wait, if your class 56 is anything to go by, then this will be stunning. I'll bang my deposit in immediately, thanks for heralding and championing true motive power, best wishes
So another one of Hornby's highly detailed models being picked up by someone else..... Are they only going to be the 08/HST/APT/91/800s RAILROAD and Kettle manufacturers moving on? The 56, 31, 50 and now the 60 has been taken up by other manufacturers to deliver cheaper versions.
Join us today at 12pm for the launch of Cavalex Models latest 'OO' gauge product and find out more on www.keymodelworld.com/cavalex-models

Thankfully most still have the originally fitted BR ashtrays in the cab too 😎

Great stuff Cavalex, I'll be having the current day variants.

The best diesel loco built since the Class 52 Western diesel hydraulics.
I second that as I like both locos 😊. The Class 60 is the closest to the GE Dash 8 we have in the UK.
I have a 56 on pre order and this will follow on perfectly
Please Cavalex can you produce a proper class 58 and a class 08 shunter.
hi great video.why do we need class 66s if the class60 is so good,or have i missed something, will buy a model of the 60 when it comes out.
Excellent video
Will you do any weathered versions?
Brilliant love the 60 I would like to a mainline blue livery please and of course ews. Thank you cavalex
Just waiting for Accurascale now to announce a class 60 😉
They aren't doing a Class 60 as I've been told.
They are not doing it.
No, I am glad Cavalex Models are doing this one. I like variety 😊
Excellent choice. Brilliant loco. Why do we have to rely on imports?
We want plain triple grey as well.....
Acting editor? Is Mike okay?!
Yes, Mike's now Publisher, next level up 😁

A thriving market is to our benefit 👍
All versions are available to pre-order now at Rails : railsofsheffield.com/collections/cavalex-models-oo-gauge-class-60
Will you consider some special commissions? Maybe GBRF ex-colas or db ex-ews 60065 or the puma 60074 or steel 60062?
At ripoff prices 😂
@@Oddly1970 not compared to the current 60 by hornby which is 20p quid for a 10 year old tooling hahah
Where's the level crossing at 4:50?
Helpston just north of Peterborough
@@S2RUF of course it is! I had just never seen it from this side before - been many times on the opposite side!..
Jesus some of those fish plates could do with a bit lift and packing.
Ha just said to my dad a class 60
Interesting
Nearly at Flying Scotsman’s 100th birthday.
Not a modern image modeller. Sorry!
So why even comment at all. Sorry!
