I’ve seen some people have a little luck over at west bay just a few days ago. Hope we get a cool front soon to turn up the bite. Nice grind out!

You love what you do, gotta say that. You should night kayak the west bay canal lights. I did for the first time recently, pretty cool experience, protected from the wind, sun, and non stop action. You gotta weed through sandies and dink trout though...

The water was so clear and low waves at San Luis Pass this weekend. Me and my buddy caught about 15 sharks in the 2ft to 3 ft range. Wasnt what we wanted but we had fun..

Great video Mark. May I suggest, not that my advice is worth anything, but from my experience in night fishing with them 1000 Watt lights, them larger specs are deeper. What I mean is that the small specs linger closer to the surface and larger one deeper. Therefore, your hook should be appropriately 3 to 4 foot from the bobber, maybe even longer depending the depth of water you are fishing in. That's for the live shrimp set up. Now also, a tandem rig set up with "little fishies" or ""curly tails" plastics with chartreuse colors can be successful as well. Good luck and be safe! :)

Ive used my lights there quite often. Lit'l fishies in white/pearl can be good there. Also sometimers throw them in tandem. I was sitting down on those rocks one night and wasn't paying attention. Looked up and one of those waves was upon me. I knew I couldn't jump up in time. so I just grabbed ahold of the rock and held on. I got soaked and lost my long handled net. Lesson learned.

@@MDLRFishing If you go down a couple of hundred yards from the end, there is a structure with a light on it in the water close to the dike. It's right across from a boat ramp. I seem to catch more fish there. I can tell you were there during the week. It gets busy there on weekends.

Is there another recommended 1000W narrow spot bulb. Looks like that bulb you linked is no longer available. I broke one of mine last time I was out. The wind blew my tripod over. I have one left, but mine isn’t as narrow, but close. I need to get another bulb.

When you said that ribbon fish was massive I had to laugh. Those get really big. I have seen them up to 5-6' and they are Good to eat. Where I live in the Caribbean, there is a huge demand for them and fishermen specifically target them for that market.
