Hey man I grew up in Friendswood tx. Your videos bring back the best times of my life. I remember a lot of the locations you fish. Thanks man for posting videos. I will subscribe.
As hot and disgusting our weather has been it must of been a good night for yea, cuz I see no mosquitoes attacking you. Nice catches, tight lines and careful out there.
You love what you do, gotta say that. You should night kayak the west bay canal lights. I did for the first time recently, pretty cool experience, protected from the wind, sun, and non stop action. You gotta weed through sandies and dink trout though...
The water was so clear and low waves at San Luis Pass this weekend. Me and my buddy caught about 15 sharks in the 2ft to 3 ft range. Wasnt what we wanted but we had fun..
Great video Mark. May I suggest, not that my advice is worth anything, but from my experience in night fishing with them 1000 Watt lights, them larger specs are deeper. What I mean is that the small specs linger closer to the surface and larger one deeper. Therefore, your hook should be appropriately 3 to 4 foot from the bobber, maybe even longer depending the depth of water you are fishing in. That's for the live shrimp set up. Now also, a tandem rig set up with "little fishies" or ""curly tails" plastics with chartreuse colors can be successful as well. Good luck and be safe! :)
Ive used my lights there quite often. Lit'l fishies in white/pearl can be good there. Also sometimers throw them in tandem. I was sitting down on those rocks one night and wasn't paying attention. Looked up and one of those waves was upon me. I knew I couldn't jump up in time. so I just grabbed ahold of the rock and held on. I got soaked and lost my long handled net. Lesson learned.
@@MDLRFishing If you go down a couple of hundred yards from the end, there is a structure with a light on it in the water close to the dike. It's right across from a boat ramp. I seem to catch more fish there. I can tell you were there during the week. It gets busy there on weekends.
Is there another recommended 1000W narrow spot bulb. Looks like that bulb you linked is no longer available. I broke one of mine last time I was out. The wind blew my tripod over. I have one left, but mine isn’t as narrow, but close. I need to get another bulb.
When you said that ribbon fish was massive I had to laugh. Those get really big. I have seen them up to 5-6' and they are Good to eat. Where I live in the Caribbean, there is a huge demand for them and fishermen specifically target them for that market.
Hey Mark, the generator link is unavailable. I was wondering if you could buy a new generator would you keep the same one you have or upgrade? Can you send a link to a nice generator I can night fish with. I like the Honda’s because I know they’re quiet, but I’ve never owned one myself. Let me know. Thx!
Great video its a struggle with the heat but great video always like watching your channel , question where can i find that orange pop cork? And how deep were u fishing with the pop cork?
I'm a total beginner and I'm planning to go to the Texas city dike. Do you mind sharing the length of rod and reel that I should purchase to get started? Really appreciate it.
I use 7’ long rods in Ultralight, Light and Medium Light power. These are casting rods and a set of spinning as well. For my reels I use typical bass fishing gear. Nothing big and crazy. Please just take a look at my video descriptions. All my fishing gear is listed and you can take a look at it.
Mark, you are a little late for night time trout fishing. Late March to early May go to Surfside to catch monster trout. Late May to late July are best for night time trout fishing. After July there are too many undersized trout so target something else
Nice, man! I used to live in Seabrook and worked at Eagle Point Marina back in High School. Would always drive down to the Texas City Dike and fish at the end on the left under some lights. Usually did pretty well there, but that was years and years ago. Thanks for posting this... brings back the memories for sure. Have a good one!
I use an fluorescent LED under water tube (Crappie Light). I can bring a lawn mower battery and don’t attract the Cajun state bird 🦟 . I’m not filming though 👍🏻🎣
@@MDLRFishing try using the 10000k lumen husky tripod setup from home depot.... lights up the entire area... equivalent to a 120w lightbulb as far as power consumption... brighter than 2x 500w halogens.... runs about 125 bucks
Have you tried the black oak lights.. very small but extremely bright...teamhardlife15 gets you a discount ... we posted a video showing how bright they are...
You caught some bait with those first two fish! Ribbons and ladies are awesome cut bait! Looks like a fun evening!
The only time me an my Dad ever fished together was there. Listened to Glenn Campbell “Galveston” current song on the AM radio then 1969😎
My parents and i go there almost every month and as soon as we smell the salt in the air, we start to play Glenn Campbell
Interesting lighting set up for fishing. I loved the interlude with the music when you were pulling them out one after the other. Keep them coming.

Enjoyed seeing the old reel come out!
Thanks Robert 👍

Been watching you for a while now, Mark. Beautiful fishing my brother ❤. Good job buddy 👏. Tight lines
Thanks for your great videos.
I’ve seen some people have a little luck over at west bay just a few days ago. Hope we get a cool front soon to turn up the bite. Nice grind out!

Thanks a lot Hector!
Yes I run a launcher cork with 6' leader there. If the shrimp stays on top I use a small bite weight to get him lower
I have been wanting to go night fishing. I have been looking for one of those lights. Nice catches! Tight lines!
Nice video, i usually do really good at TCD at night. Try to fish the end of the dike and free like shrimp. Always the trick 🤙🏿 tight lines!
Nice! Last time I was out there a couple weeks ago me n a buddy caught 40+ dink’s n a couple keepers.
How have the lights and bulbs held up over the past year?
I love night fishing there and matagorda. Great video.

😂 that’s definitely bigger than ours get here.
why did you switch from jetty slip cork to the popping cork? was the water too shallow?
😮🤔 I thought that was truck at the beginning 😂. Maybe it's a sign I need to go fishing
Swp has been good
Got me a slot red
4 flounders and 2 trout.
Hey brother is that a small generator you used for the lights ? What’s the name of it , I would like to get one ?
Hi Mark! What kind of generator is that? Looks like a Honda and its super quiet. I'd like to do more night fishing because its been so hot.
I’ll answer this on Sunday’s Q&A.

My tackle must be off, I couldn't hook up to anything last Sunday. They were definitely biting just couldn't land anything.
Man good warning on the barges. Didn't know that happens there.
What night was this and after that water wave came thru. The fish bite harder. Turns up food from bottom for bait fish
Way to stick with it & fish hard. What size hook are you using for your live shrimp? Enjoyed it!
#8 treble hook
I see your air condition broke up LOL cooler in the night just be careful with the rocks
Great video its a struggle with the heat but great video always like watching your channel , question where can i find that orange pop cork? And how deep were u fishing with the pop cork?
Bomber Saltwater Poping Cork Titanium Wire
Can purchase from Academy Sports or on Amazon.
I typically use my jeep's spotlights when I fish out there.

Good stuff!Beating the heat!💪🎣
This is Texas even fishing at night it is still hot out.
As hard as you work night fishing it's not cheating if you're eating
You've inspired me to do some night fishing, thanks!

Is it sunrise jetty?
My regular clothes are fishing clothes...lol
Nice catch!!🐟🐟🐟
Do you ever use your kayak at night
I got hit by a rogue wave on the end of the jetty. I knocked me on my butt. Needless to say my wife was laughing up a storm.
Hey mark what are the 2 smaller lights you have next to the par 64?
Clamp lights, they’re listed in my video description.
Can you please give me the info of your lights set up? Thanks
Look 👀 at the video description.
Ribbon fishing is delicious!
👍

Thanks for the comment, I enjoy reading ones like this!
Hey Mark when you are setting up the Bio bait your using a weighted hook ?
Yes 1/16oz
ribbon fish is actually realy good, one of the best fish to deep fried!
that's what I always hear.
id like to put them in a saltwater aquarium. they look cool as hell.
I use an fluorescent LED under water tube (Crappie Light). I can bring a lawn mower battery and don’t attract the Cajun state bird 🦟 . I’m not filming though 👍🏻🎣
Yeah I need to light the area up for y’all to see.

Typical Texas City N ght fishing bro. Tight lines never stop brother!
Agreed! It's tough out there most of the time.
what kind of generator are you using
Honda eu2000
Great video bruddah. When you going back to the oil rigs?
That’s a tough one to answer.
@@MDLRFishing you know you wanna
Which type of Bio bait was that you used in the Video?
It’s listed in my video description.
I want to take my kids there but I want to see where is it at
Hey did they cut down trout limit from 10 to 5 ?

Cool video!
Use Electric chicken colored scented jerk shads from Zmann bro. I promise you they will catch you fish. Please make a video of this brother.
Hate the big boats that comes by
Nothing outfishes live shrimp.
Pretty boss, I haven't seen you for a long time 2022
that's a reason I don't like TCD. Once a big boat passes by, your fishing night is done. period
Greenweb why ? The waves?
Black Flag conditions in the p.m. .... still catching fish. Geez. Talk about Semper Piscis
👍
I love you show
very nice video. can I join with you for fishing for 1 day?
Have you tried the black oak lights.. very small but extremely bright...teamhardlife15 gets you a discount ... we posted a video showing how bright they are...
The Dike has been dead this summer, mostly dinks. Great vid as always.
Throw live croaker big bait big fish
2020 anyone?
nice job body :-)

Personally, I enjoy Mark's talking. I watch him to learn good stuff and he does that by talking. Keep up the talking, Mark!
