  • This piece of music was created as part of the SILVERWOOD CREATES MUSIC project that runs across all Silverwood campuses and is aimed at offering creative music opportunities to groups of pupils. The sessions are designed to have a therapeutic approach with an emphasis on free expression and collaboration. Some of the recordings highlights from this project are captured on video and shared on this Silverwood You Tube channel.
'Whoop A Dagga Ding Ding' was inspired by a riff that Ethan played on the metal tongue drum. He regularly returned to this riff which set the tempo and feel for the piece. Ethan’s strong percussive skills then led him to record the bells which were overlaid on top of his tongue drum recording.
Aiden started singing a phrase which sounded like 'Whoop A Dagga Ding Ding' and this was added to Ethans percussion. Aiden then recorded some expressive parts using the metallophone and synthesiser. The project was facilitated by music therapist, Will Lawton who added some electric piano to help give the piece some structure and foundation. Will then edited the various parts recorded by the boys to create the piece of music heard here. This piece of music was inspired by the collaborative creativity of both boys.
