The music group from Silver Birch recorded their first cover song this term and created their own version of Mamma Mia.

Music therapy group work at Rowde campus aimed at supporting group collaboration and self-confidence facilitated by Will Lawton as part of the SILVERWOOD CREATES MUSIC project.

This is an original piece of music based on the theme of SPACE. The piece is shaped around a piano part written by Leo. Every element of music is performed by a class member of Silver Birch and includes electronics, percussion, cymbals and piano. The music was writing and recording was facilitated by Nick Fletcher and Will Lawton.

Banaha is an African folk song from the Conga performed here by Silver Birch class. The words translate as "at the foot of the pineapple tree, Yaku ladles a banana into his aunt's red hat!" This song marks the first SILVERWOOD CREATES MUSIC collaboration between Rowde music teacher Nick Fletcher and music therapist Will Lawton. This song was inspired by one of Jayden's favourite songs during a group music session with Swans class in term 2 at Trowbridge. The group worked on the song across the term and performed it live in front of other classes just before Christmas 2023. This is part of the SILVERWOOD CREATES MUSIC project.

The Swans teacher asked me to use the group session to help some of the pupils with their transition from Trowbridge to Rowde.....so.....we wrote a song! The pupils each listed their favourite thing about Trowbridge and put it into the song. We also reacted the teachers singing and added it to the track.

Part of the Silverwood creates music project.

A piece of music inspired by a book that one of the pupils was reading. The group created an Underwater soundscape and narrated a short story to accompany the music.

These group sessions were used to help the four girls form a bond before they all leave Silverwood for a new school. They started each session calmly before creating an explosive piece of music called THE BIG BANG. Sessions were then spent singing their hearts out to their favourite pop songs.
