"They sound like them, but none of them sound like YOU." Well said bro.
Its extremely difficult, but healthy to get comfortable with your voice. You'll never know what a person is looking for, and you'll be very suprised what type of roles YOUR VOICE can bring to life. 💚

Well done. Well said. Some producers/directors that are just getting started tend to fall into a trap of thinking they want a specific actor to play a role. Their choice of wording and examples are often misleading and contain such phrases as, "...a voice like Mel Blanc or John DeLancie." This does more to confuse the actors than a help, especially when they try to figure out just how Mel and John even closely resemble one another. The comparison factor to well known actors only proceeds to frustrate the actors because of the unique abilities of other actors. Like Tim said, you have to find out what your voice is, take the best parts of it and make it your signature. There is only one you. You have to figure out what the market wants from your unique voice and capitalize upon that!

Well said, Timmy! It took me a while, but I now like the sound of my own voice, and really enjoy using my gear and software to bring out the best in it

This is actually something I've been dealing with for a while now. However, it's not to the extent of some others.
I actually quite enjoy my voice most of the time, but there's just those moments that make me do a double take and end up hating it.

You're recording at 3 in the morning? Oddly enough, I'm watching this at 3 in the morning.
You replaced the Yamaha after the dog? Nice man. Good to hear!
I hated my voice years back, but after Broadcasting School I was like...meh. As you said, just gotta get used to it.

It's kinda crazy even with this "response video" people still won't listen, imagine trying to convince people that their voice is amazing and needed, I remember this guy I knew sounded like a girl and all he wanted to do was to lower his voice, I told him do you have any idea how many people will seek you out just for that voice? the amount of clients he would have is insane even thinking about it.. "I don't like my voice" ok who cares? many people will like it. oh btw would you by any chance be able to create a guide on signing up for fiverr for beginner voice actors?, for those who doesn't understand how the pricing and things work? I knew you did some before but maybe an updated one. thanks for the video..

What about if you want to be a vtuber but absolutely hate your voice?

LOL Interesting. I would say pick a voice you like that fits the character you will be “playing” as a vtuber and work on it until it’s consistent.
I actually don’t know much about vtubers but the ones I’ve seen are playing characters, not themselves.

@@FunnyGuyTimmy my voice sounds like I'm in my late teens but I'm in my late 30s it sucks

@@plainsabertooth7828 I say take advantage of it. That’s the voice they are looking for in most anime. But I will also say, the more you use your voice to its limit, the more your vocal cords will relax and the deeper your voice will get. Look at my earliest voice acting videos and my most recent ones.

@@FunnyGuyTimmy I'll see what I can do, I've always been afraid to try.
