Mr Forbes - I continue to watch your videos and have done so for more years than I care too admit, always great and always well received. Thanks for providing the content, just to let you know that it is appreciated. Would love to know if you are planning anymore "Artist" series or such like - I thought they were wonderful. Keep safe sir.
I have the laowa 15 zero d, the images you post look similar, not merely because of it being the same focal length... the ‘character’ of the pictures look similar. I have a ton of fun with it, especially using it sort of macro, it will focus quite close...
Being someone on a budget that just got a cannon R I will definitely be keeping an eye on nisi so see what they come out with next. that price range is hard to beat.
I'd be interested to know how it compares to the Samyang 14mm. I have an R and an R6 and I'm very happy with my Samyang. And the MF is cheaper. The AF is the same price
I’d be very interested to check this lens out, great to see Nisi stretching their wings! New competition is only ever a good thing for pushing technologies forward 🤓
My copy is tack sharp on my RIV, from 5.6 edge to edge. Iam very impressed. Flares are very well controlled. If you see some in the EFV...Move the lens a bit and flares are gone
A good first effort but I'm prepared to pay more for a lens that gives me the missing EXIF data, is probably a bit sharper, is extremely well built, and renders colour beautifully - the Voigtländer 15mm/1:4.5 Super Wide Heliar III aspherical.
it's a shame here is no L-mount option... what a bummer for us panasonicals... btw: did you up your audio-game? new mic? sounds "heavy", a lot more bassy or is it me? thanks for the review
The Irix 15mm f/2.4 seems to be more interesting lens for me: faster aperture, weather sealing and still standard filters thread (with the option for filter holder as well). Oh, and it has the AE module (not full manual).
I dont know about the sharpness of the Irix 15mm f/2.4 but since it's a similar price point it'd be cool to see a comparison between the two. If the sharpness is about the same then I'd say it's probably an overall better lens. A comparison between the two lenses would be very interesting to see
I was under the impression that Nicci had a line of cinema lenses that used the PL mount?!? Still manual focus and not with the demands of photography in terms of sharpness and resolution, but lenses at least. Though as always I could be wrong
I'm curious how the image quality compares to Rokinon/Samyang. I love my 14mm Samyang and although mine is MF, they make AF versions in the same price range as the NiSi
I have the Samyang 14mm and recently i bought Nisi 15mm. Nisi blows it out, it is in different league, much sharper and easier to use because you can remove the hood and it has much smaller front element, you can screw in any filter you want (it has filter thread)build quality is miles away. I'm selling my samyang for sure.
It would probably be better to roll with a 7.5mm fisheye for MFT and post process. I shoot MFT and was thinking about this as I watched this video. 7artisans has an all manual alternative that I'm thinking about getting. I also shoot Nikon APS-C and have the Tokina 11-16mm that I've been using for this type of photo. Since I carry my MFT cameras more often, I might pull the trigger.
Excellent video 😊!
It's the sort of this I'd be somewhat interested in but I'm on f-mount for the foreseeable future so I'd lean towards Laowa.

How does it compare to the Firefly?
Thanks. Yep, the lack of exif is a bummer. How else will I be able to see what I did wrong with my camera settings??

Shouldn't be the second most important thing for a "sunstar" lens the flare control? Since its ment to shoot straight into direct light

I can think of two lenses for Sony E with the same focal length and aperture. Would have been nice to have seen a reference to those in the video.
Sunstar lens that only does 10 prong sunstars?

Would be interested to see how you think it stacks up against the Samyang 14mm

@@Edigor100 yes, please!

Reminds me a little of my laowa 15mmf2 but the laowa is a little more impressive i think

Go with the Irix, it's less expensive, sharper, gives EXIF data, f2.5
no l-mount on this one, that's unfortunate
NiSi 15mm f/4 Sunstar Super Wide Angle Full Frame ASPH Lens (Leica L Mount) now available
Good One sir
Fort Worth!!!
Looks a bit like Irix 15mm
I hate vignetting, it is not the software´s job to erase vignetting, it is the devoplers of the lens that had to calculate the lens much better !
Is it for M43 also ?
you can probably adapt it but then I think It is probably too big and heavy for smaller m4/3 bodies.
@@kingzozo19 thanks. There is the mount converter probably later, but just check if it is an option for future use. Thanks.
