  • RVNL is constructing a state of the art sea bridge at Rameshwaram. This is what the 2 km long bridge will look like once it is completed. This unique project has been conceived and is being executed in-house by a team of experts.

    Thanks to Indian railways, and all railway organizations like RVNL, RITES, IRFC, Etc and Honorable PM for speeding up rail development, India has to go a long way to develop Railways.

      Don't mention the fraud PM. The allocated fund for this project is mere 250cr and the track will be used by many poor. But, fraud modi allocated 1lakh crore for bullet train project which will be used by very few people and rich.

      @@nikhilraj418 The cost of the new pamban bridge is 250 crore. The quality of new bridge is very poor, very low to sea level, no better than old. Because invested amount is very small as compared to useless bullet train project. Chaiwala modi wasted 1 lakh crore for bullet train project.

      The bridge which raises in height is the new one being built. The other bridge is old one which will be demolished after new one built.

    One doubt .....why the height of the new bridge is still low?? ...as we know ocean level is going up day by day due to global warming ....it will be difficult to operate such low height bridge during tsunami or cyclone

      They won't join. It will be a neutral section and pretty common everywhere. A train can easily pass such small distance without power.

      There will be separate room in middle to control 🛂 this bridge where power will be shut off for whole bridge I think because of safety reasons .

      Trains are not individual cars aur bus that can climb decline gradient easily ,and both side have station ,so it's little difficult to change the alignment of the time .

      Well like the old Pamban Bridge, we have one in Delhi that can break any time. So a new one is being constructed and the old one will be dismantled...

      Lol genius, do you think the govt didn't think of that. It is almost impossible to widen a bridge, that too being a sea bridge, it will be cheaper to build a new bridge than to repair the old bridge

    #Better constuct it as #SimultaneousDouble_Railway_Bridge instead of single line then again plan for doubling as the pier can be constructed at a cheaper cost in double line than 2 single line and #old_pamban_bridge can be kept as "#Antique" or "#Heritage_site as it is already 100Y and too low (from sea level)to be electrified without risks in #cyclones & #Tsunamis

    New bridge is very low to the sea level, same height as old bridge. They could have increased the height, designed with more protection. If 25ft storm struck, it will overturn the train. That's what happened in 1964, killed all the 150 passengers. Lesson never learnt. Poor quality design from railways. Hugely disappointed!
