It’s been the end for a while now. Because it’s never been about the tactics, it’s always been his own application and when he is out on the pitch, Rashford doesn’t apply himself.
The key thing you mentioned that I think is a non-negotiable change Rashford would need to make to work in Amorim's team is to up his defensive intensity. I think Amorim believes his system (and the team culture he wants to build) requires everyone to work hard on defense. That pressure, more than the offensive patterns, is really what he wants from his system. I think the lack of defensive effort is the reason why Rashford and Garnacho were left out against City. Sure, they may have had the talent to nick a goal, but they weren't going to work hard enough defensively for United to fight City for control of possession (which I think Amorim really wanted to do). If Rashford makes a commitment to defense, I think Amorim would keep him and would figure it how to use him, even if the fit issue might push Rashford out of the first team against some opponents. Rashford has enough talent to make that worthwhile. The question is whether or not Rashford wants to make that commitment.
Videos like this is why I think you’re the best analytical account on UA-cam. You’re fair and just. You speak about his poor form while also highlighting his profile fit. Lovely work. I think if Rashford was to find his 20/21 form again, he could really lock down that inside forward role.

What I'm about to say has been said many times already but is always worth a mention imo. As far as I can tell (as someone who sits on a sofa watching football), Rashford is someone who was inspired by United stars but he seems to have inherited a particular peak Ronaldo mindset, which is that his job is to attack and prioritise that, and he seems almost willing to sacrifice defensive intensity to do that. Unfortunately for him, Rashford has never proven himself to be a 50+ Goals + Assist per year player, so how he justifies his lack of intensity is beyond me. The startling thing about watching Rashford is that sometimes he does track back and it really stands out - because a genuine defensive run from him with actual intent to apply meaningful pressure to the ball seems to happen about twice a year. He went from being thw fan favourite to fans having an apathy because they can TELL he doesn't believe he can/will/needs to actually make a tackle, and the opposing players know it too. From an opponent's perspective, if Rashford is bearing down on you, you're essentially a free man on the ball, because you kbow he won't get there before you do whatever it is you need to with the ball, whether that is pass it to someone in a better position or just run past the man. We’ve seen it consistently for years and it is disheartening. You occasionally see him get pumped for a game and then run fast, and hard, but it's random or late. The atrempts come of as almost not genuine. I reckon at some points during the EtH era this was because those behind him were confused and not giving direcrion as well, but it's mostly on him to understand his roke and do some basic intense running when needed. That creates the foundation of having the presence of 11 players on the pitch. All the technicalities about his back to goal play or intricate work come later. None of it matters when you don't have the simole defensive stability that 11 players are supposed to provide on a football pitch. The average fan finds it mind-boggingly that the locak lad who plays for what we feel is the biggest club in the world has the highest wage, gets ti start regularly, and yet simply won't run intensely. Just RUN, and the oerformances and goals and glory will follow. That’s what most of us thinj, and that's why we're all disapointed. I don't know if he'll stay. I genuineky wanted Maguire to leave when West Ham made their offer because I felt I'd seen enough but he stayed and chose to fight. He didn't have to and neither does Rashford. But Maguire has earned huge respect amongst those who watch a moderate amount of football for the way he has applied himself. It would be nice for Rashford to do the same. Although almost all of us are tired of what we see, the fact remains that he's still living an amazing life, still has the chance to live the dream, and still very much can make it happen at Manchester United. The simple fan in me very much hopes he grabs the opportunity (that has been staring him right in the face for years) right now and becomes the footballing phenomenon we know he can be. I still brlieve he can do it. I just wish he would choose it for himself.
Spot on mate. The one thing that has always been the most frustrating about United players is their inability to do the bare minimum whether it’s finding the simple pass, pressing as a unit and simply showing us fans effort. Once again u hit the nail here
i have always said maybe not ability wise, but mentality wise, arry maguire is up there with the likes of ronaldo, the amount o time he has been dunked on by his own fans, forget about outside world that ones worst, but he always comes back strong and even got player of the month last season. strong character that bloke
as you have mentioned, he is good when he is facing the goal or running behind, however is not making any off the ball movement running behind anymore.
When Amorim was asked about getting Rashford back to his best, he said he hoped he can help but above all else it comes to whether Rashford wants to or not And judging by what we see almost every game on the pitch and apparently judging by his lack of dedication on the training pitch, he doesn’t wanna do it And that interview confirms that he doesn’t wanna be here anymore and I think it’s for the best for all involved😭😭
Rashford is one of those people who thinks doing a bare minimum should earn him the privilege of having everything. He would be rated as an average talent if not for his PR and being born in Manchester. He will soon realize how much support he was getting for having such an mediocre career that he had once he goes to another club.
Such loud rubbish lmao. That’s impressive. I think you lot are emotional children who can’t regulate ur emotions so you speak foolish things so proudly. Rashford poor can be criticized without lies man, it’s extremely strange that you guys think differently.
The very important question you posed "Does Marcus Rashford still want to fit into Amorim's system?" The answer from Marcus seems to be a resounding no. I look at players like Xavi Simons and I would send Rashford and £30m to PSG for him in a heartbeat.
Loved the video💚 Rashford isn’t technical enough to play that position because he needs space to operate. Same with Garnacho and Bruno. You need someone with close control and a high footballing IQ.
@ There are a few decent options. You got Kudus, Cherki, Dibling, Nypan, Marmoush, Wirtz, Kvaratckelia, are all very good options but United have to be prepared to spend the money.
2:30 you know what doesnt suit Rashford? NOT being a crybaby. If the team required someone who link up play with his back to goal, up your game and do it. He is not a youth player anymore so instead of being just a one dimensional player, adapt and grow, offer more than what the team needs instead of dragging the team down
We all know his weaknesses. If we have a chance to get a better option, why do we bother to think how he can reluctantly have a position in the current team?
The last 3 managers tried to build the team around Rashford and we stunk. It's just time to let him go no matter what it's done for him he is just not smart enough depends on him
We've never built the team around Rashford, when arguably we should have done. He's played under multiple managers, in different systems, different tactics, different profiles of playing partners, and he's been shunted about from position to position. It's not a surprise he's been inconsistent because consistency comes from playing in a system that suits you and it comes from repetition.
Its a big NO. This is Manchester United not Rashchester United. If a player cant track back, aggressively close down spaces, jump for first and second balls buy only want to play in a counter attacking setup, then that's not our type of player. Rashford should leave asap
why should the coach tweak his system to suite a player who will not give 100%? We need players that will run, tackle and fight for the ball every chance they get, he should just leave so that we move forward. Everything should not always be about him and what he need to succeed
A lot of the comments are too focused on Rashford form and not his profile. Yes his form is undeniably bad right now but I just think I’m seeing a lot of “he can’t do this or that” as if he isn’t capable of doing it when he’s shown he can def do those things just not doing it right now.. that’s why I think more adults need to welcome therapy man, you need to learn how to regulate ur feelings and separate facts from fiction. It’s important for healthy living.

I just don't know about rashford anymore, if amorim needs 2 tweak his system just 2 suit rashford then its all about rashford again. There's no gaurentee it will work, he's just so inconsistent
Thanks Aj but I strongly united has struggled because we seem to want to get the best of far too many players that are just not good enough.. the club has to be ruthless and that starts with bruno, Garnacho and Rashford. Of course there are others too but focusing on the starting 11, they need to go
To me rashford is tired of the United’s environment. He’s at the club since the beginning of this post SAF era and it’s the worst of all time and always the same things happen. He needs a new club to grow and the club needs him to leave to get new players with the mentality to win and do great things with Ruben. What he said about it is telling me this.
(Left) Rashy, Garna. (Right) Amad and Antony. They are considered "inverted Wingers". Amad has all shown us that he masters the role of RWB and (10) "Right Inside Forward" in my long-awaited formation/system 3-4-2-1. Will we soon see Antony as RWB or is there a greater chance of seeing Garna as LWB? One who copes with both positions brilliantly is the useful Maza, also a very good option as an RCB. But back to Rashy, Garna, and Antony. Who has the greatest potential to succeed as "Inside Forward" (in one of the 10 roles)? PS: Keep in mind that Amorim prefers a left-footed RWB and a right-footed LWB.
No player is on it all the time they r on the pitch, but what players can do when not playing well is work hard, thats a bare minimum! Fans will over look not playing well if u r giving your all, rashford doesnt do this n its put him where hes at atm!
Insane take to blame the fans for 'forcing' Rashford out. The fans never turned on him for poor performances. They turned on his absolutely shocking attitude and lack of professionalism. He's the highest paid player, supposed to be the star of the team. U think Salah or KDB would get away with dropping those performances for 2yrs? No. We have every right to critique his game.
Marcus Rashford is one of the biggest mistakes at Manchester United. He can't play Center forward, he can't play inverted forward. He is 27, one of the top earners and we still need to treat him like a fragile kid , accomodating every single thing about him. The greatest mistake we have ever made with rashford is when we still had Lukaku. I still remember the time when we wanted to make a star out of Rashford and we were constantly putting Lukaku on the wing just so that Rush could play upfront alone and be the star. I was feeling about it. That was one of the biggest mistakes. That's why we lost a perfect striker that we never replaced. Lukaku was a beast, a Target man who could play with both feet, he was a goal scorer and we lost him because of the domestic flop.
Apt! I cant believe we've ever treated a player so special in the history of the club like we've done for Rashford. We had to literally shift players who could easily have played the LW position just to accommodate Rashford. Sanchez, Martial, Sancho had to be given different roles cos of Rashford Lukaku had to be moved to the wing as well, when we wanted to try make Rashford play as striker. Its time for both parties to pathways
Manutd shouldn't tweek the system for Rashford. What makes him this highly rated as though he is a CR7. Nani has better consistent G/A than Rashford, so why should Manutd bend for only one player all the time
AJ do you think Rashford's skillset can make him a starter in any top top team, whether they are 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 or whatever, top teams who want to dominate the ball and not just play counter attack? I wonder if he's one of those players that would be great at a team like West Ham, but never quite good enough for a starting spot in a really top team. People talking about him going to Arsenal - just don't see that working due to his limitations. Same for Barca, PSG, any team who wants to control the ball. Plus those teams also demand tracking back and working hard as part of a team.
I still think he can work in a top modern team that dominates the ball, I just think his touches need to be limited to the final third as much as possible He also needs to improve his work off the ball in order to really succeed at a top team!
@@Dmaj089 I said the same on a different channel and a Spurs fan came back and said they don't need him. Son is better, plus they already have a back-up, which is probably a sad indictment of where things have gotten
@delgodzilla1977 f him. Does he run Spurs? Son is such a loveable character but he wasted his career at Spurs. Rashford suits Spurs to a T. Would suit Liverpool's offensive play but never the pressing, as well as City. Maybe the Bundesliga or Ligue 1. He'd be even worse in Serie A and La Liga as he's not quite technical enough for La Liga and the not so high lines in Serie A would have him score 5 goals a season. That's facts
@@AJAnalysisyou are obviously allowing your love for the player to cloud your football IQ. In one breath u claim he can play in a possessive based side and yet u are saying the club should limit his touch on the ball. The only way that's possible is if u are advocating he is converted to a striker like CR7. No possession based team will allow a passenger play as the winger
At this level of the game & the quality player one should be, it boggles my mind that He can't do this, or it doesn't suit him, or he prefers this or that.An ELITE Player would perform as required by the Team & Coach.
I agree with the fact that Rashford struggles with a couple of the basics But every player on the planet has a certain role that suits them more than any other
Can you touch on Garnacho in the system Because in the Amorin system I see him as a #9 or in the middle as a 8 but far from a #10 or a WB But I do see him as #9 that can play in the lesser game or jumping in as the sub #9
Besides ball striking and pace…Rashford doesn’t offer a damn thing. Matter of fact, his pace is gone…now what? To us, he’s not useful at all. He’s got to go and the same with Garnacho because he’s just the z tech Argentine version of Rashford. Get rid of him too before it becomes a massive problem
Marcus gets paid 300K plus per week. Please stop making excuses for him that the system doesn’t suit him or he doesn’t feel comfortable. For that money he should be happy even if he gets asked to be the kitman
This is exactly the problem. One will think this was about how the team will suit prime Lio Messi. For fuck sakes it’s flipping Marcus Washford. Just another dead player. He’s not even on par with Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon. Why the hell does the team have to suit him? Who exactly is he as a footballer? If Marcus does not suit the team, then out he goes. It’s as simple as that. Bruno is the next big casualty, he has at most one more season in this team if he doesn’t “tidy up” his game.
Rashfrod can't work you have to be real! He cant play with his back to goal. The no 9 position requires playing with the back goal, the two 10s is the same. Amorim should not change his tactics and profile for a player who has proven to be inconsistent and average. What happens when he crawls back to his natural self? The wingback position gives him a lot of space to run into but only the Rashford that played for Mourinho can have that work rate. He should leave it is best for both club and Rashford. I will tell you without fear or favour even Bruno does not fit the profile. We have to be truthful, this issue of pampering, attaching and being sympathetic with players who are average or dont fit at the expense of Manchester United should stop. We are all United fans before players. In the next 20years i will still be a United fan and not a Rashford or Bruno fan.
This is the worse video of Aj that I have Even seen. ETH failed because he wanted to change his tactics to accommodate Rashford. The last mistake Amorim should avoid is to change his system for Rashford. Rashford is done. He can only play one way. Unable to adapt. No coach wants that kind of player
Sad but true. Rashy is a talented player, but not as good as he is made out to be. Not world class. Not going anywhere - who is paying for him? Smacks of Snachez, Pogba and Martial. Where are they now?
Im still waiting for the day i see essentially a front 2, rasmus left 10, rashford striker, take pressing duties away from rashford onto hojlund, get rashford into narrow right channels, and hojlund into narrow left channels, keep rasmus doing hold up.
Is this the end of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United? Not sure....

He can be the inside forward when he is paired with Zirkzee but I feel like Amorim doesn't see Zirkzee as his ideal center forward candidate.
Sanchez, Martial, Sancho had to be given different roles cos of Rashford
Lukaku had to be moved to the wing as well, when we wanted to try make Rashford play as striker.
Its time for both parties to pathways
Ruben shouldn't tweak his tactics for Rashford.
Okay AJ Analysis. What would be your decision regarding Rashford considering that Amorim wanna play 3-4-3?
Well he needs to work hard and no he shouldn’t change his ways for one player
I still think he can work in a top modern team that dominates the ball, I just think his touches need to be limited to the final third as much as possible
He also needs to improve his work off the ball in order to really succeed at a top team!
He'd suit spurs.
I agree with the fact that Rashford struggles with a couple of the basics
But every player on the planet has a certain role that suits them more than any other
I am about to watch but the answer is no he doesn't fit
Can you touch on Garnacho in the system
Because in the Amorin system I see him as a #9 or in the middle as a 8 but far from a #10 or a WB
But I do see him as #9 that can play in the lesser game or jumping in as the sub #9
Sancho would have been perfect.
perfect timing i wanted to know the exact roles those 10 are suppose to do and why its not working for rashford and garacho
Garnacho can learn. The half spaces work under more technical players.
For me I think Garnacho has potential to work, but for Rashford ,the way things are going, I'm not so sure
@@gospelobianyo9045 for sure bro, on Garnacho.
The team will not change the whole system just to fit Rashford. He’s already not working hard enough.
Ge is being paid big money…hasn’t shown a glimpse of of what he did 2 years ago
Marcus gets paid 300K plus per week. Please stop making excuses for him that the system doesn’t suit him or he doesn’t feel comfortable. For that money he should be happy even if he gets asked to be the kitman
Would anybody actually want to buy Rashy?
His wages could be a big problem!
Truth has been spoken
Hell no.
Sad but true. Rashy is a talented player, but not as good as he is made out to be. Not world class. Not going anywhere - who is paying for him? Smacks of Snachez, Pogba and Martial. Where are they now?
He’s basically Pogba part 2. Get rid of him
No
His attitude stinks!
He needs to go asap.
he's not good enough
He is so overrated and doesn't have the work ethic to be a top Utd player and never will
Im still waiting for the day i see essentially a front 2, rasmus left 10, rashford striker, take pressing duties away from rashford onto hojlund, get rashford into narrow right channels, and hojlund into narrow left channels, keep rasmus doing hold up.
How much gametime do you reckon Rashford will get over the coming weeks? Is there still a chance to see those sorts of experiments?
@@AJAnalysis I doubt it, seems like he wants to pair rashford with zirkzee, so doubt we'll seee 60 minutes of it even
Keep an eye on Rashford to Barcelona and Musiala to United.I sense something
no chance unfortunately
