This video is a quick toss together of some clips during the rebuild with no attention to sound design. Consider it an update on the build that has been taking way longer than first planned.
Very much stuck in a limbo between shipping, waiting for big items and the legal paperwork to get everything sorted. The Norwegian State's system responsible for registrations and modifications (chassis swap) currently has a 6-7 months (!!!) wait. So I'm doing my best not to freak out about the pace of everything.
    A better update coming soon!

Love to see these kinds of videos! I have to ask: how do you record sound for your videos? Speech sounds like voice-overs, but environment sounds seem natural and I see no mics. Either you have some excellent mic placement or you spend some serious hours doing sound in post. Anyway, great work!

It will be worth the wait and before you know it you will be driving it out of the 'bat-cave' 😎

Kasper, this is just the sort of hands-on filming followers of your channel love..keep it going and you will be damn proud once the rebuild and the painful administrative part will be finished..surprised to see your confidence in Land Rover paper gaskets which it seemed you fit without sealant. 🙂

I have similar plans of restoring my 1976 Volvo C303 back to life. For now, I have sent my application to Vegvesen for an engine swap back in May and still haven't heard a thing. However, it's quite possible I have filled out "Kjøretøy Ombygging" form wrong or insufficiently, and maybe it's just been rejected? Well, I hope to at least receive a clear "Not approved" answer. Since I plan to upgrade my Volvo a bit, do you know anyone who is knowledgable in preparing/ filling out those "ombygging" applications?
Keeps fingers crossed for you and good luck with the build! Looks great :)

Fair play, I build all models of Land Rover engines and gearboxes all day every day from series to present day, it’s so awesome to see a novice like you giving it a go, well done 👍

While I really like your commentary, It's also enjoyable to watch you silently work on the car. Oddly hypnotic

I follow a chap called Martijn Doolard - started following him due to his bike packing adventures and how beautifully he presents his YT videos - and the way you present your "art" is the same for me - a subject matter I'm interested in, but so very well filmed and presented - keep on keeping on

It's relaxing just watching you work on even the most boring stuff. Fill the wait-time with detail work.

I recently called you THE GOAT of Land Rover content on UA-cam ;) great vid man. Can’t imagine how much work there goes into these edits. Let alone the real work on the car. 👏

"The Norwegian State's system ....." Don't despair. The day will come when you can enjoy your work. They needed 8 month for my car.

Great video with desirable shifting to a more detailed filming of particular part of build. For me who is just thinking about repairing of transfer case on a conceptually similar off-road car - it's quite an inspiring stuff:) Would you mind to share text books, web resources which you find most useful in your restoration (Series or Land Rover in general) ? PS Sounds of working tools someone could treat even more charming than music:)))

Liker holdningen, skal man gjøre noe så gjør man det ordentlig første gangen. Eller så lar man være👍 Lykke til videre, blir nok veldig bra dette prosjektet.

Awesome video. Did you notice when you were engaging the 3/4th gear syncro it move forward quite a lot. Had loads of play? Just rebuilding mine and can't find any reference to it but it feels like it moves a lot?

Knocked all the way to lock two gears at the same time to be able to tighten the main nut at the bell house 👍

Out of practicality - would you carry all the tools used along on the road once you leave the comforts of this garage?

You don't need to, really. What you do is a few shake-down trips to make sure the major items are working more or less as expected: After that If a Land Rover series breaks down you can generally get it going again with a set of spanners, sockets and screwdrivers. I have had a few. The magic of Series Landrovers is in the simplicity. They are more like tractors than cars.
