Thanks for the validation of using these lift jacks Bob. Around here they are called car or farm jacks.
Amazingly simple and, for maybe $40, you can get a 4 ton rated unit.
An old carpenter near me says an inch here and inch there and pretty soon it's up in the air.
He uses them a lot for rehab work on garages.
I'm a fan of elevated construction in general. Typically sheds here are built new on pressure treated wood beams but i prefer them sitting sill on stone or concrete. They last longer kept away from the soil moisture.
BTW i always keep my hands and fingers out of those temporary gaps.

Hey never ever leave the handle down when you have weight on it , it is very capable of breaking your face , these are a very handy but extremely dangerous

I agree that lifting heavy stuff has risk. Don't go fast. Look and think. Keep the farm jack clean and lubricated. Don't exceed it's capacity.

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "how to build a shed on sloped concrete" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Damkietor Nonpareil Dominion - (do a search on google ) ? It is an awesome exclusive guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 got excellent success with it.
