Spent a lot of time using feet measurement, eventually figured out since one pace is about three feet about one yard easier to use square yards. 4840 or about 4900 square yards in an acre. So half that is about 2400. I was a bit longer than wide so settled on 60 paces ...

    Thanks for sharing. As loader not holding the whole three up, I'd say it's like 700kg or close to 1500 lbs. The way loader is built, you can easily lift up to 2000lbs. Then you'll get in trouble if you try overloading that thing...

    On the front side door lock It turns out that hole with that weird looking turtle-shaped thingy is where you're supposed to put pics to hold the spring from loading back!! So if you hold the spring with a pic you can easily remove the ball from the position!!! Oh yeah and all I did was just open up a can of man and did not remove The ridges because it gives it a better grip. I just put the cable on there and the new holder then pulled it holds like a champ.

    One floor jack is all that’s needed, just pick a somewhat central point on what appears to be a frame rail on the unibody vehicle that favors the front since that’s where the most weight is. The entire side, both front and rear, will lift up, allowing the front to rear wheel swap. Here in the rust-belt, lifting at the designated lifting pinch-point is not a great idea since rust usually makes it a weak point. A relative took an old rust-free 2004 Accord to Discount Tire, paid over a grand for a new set of tires and when I changed the oil a week later I found they bent both frame rails at the rear. The tire installers selected a lift point a little too forward of where Honda punched drain holes in the frame rail, and of course my relative had a giant heavy speaker stuffed into the trunk, which the installers must’ve known about since they activated the system while they worked. Nobody knows how to tell the place the bad news or if they’d do anything about it but I’d expect a denial. Anyway that indicates that even the “experts” can get it wrong. Now that I think about it, anyone that has an air compressor doesn’t even need a jack. Just loosen the lug nuts, shove something right next to the tires that won’t compress much, and let the air out. The only reason I know that is because that’s how somebody left my vehicle one time when they stole my wheels. Reinstallation would just require deflation (after everything has been seated) and inflating afterwards to remove the crude jackstands. Beside an air compressor, I recommend a manual tire changer to mount your own tires. Just align the sidewall dot with the valve. When you go to reinstall the wheel, lightly rub some grease or wax between the mounting face of the hub and wheel to help in the future, especially to prevent dissimilar metal corrosion in the case of aluminum wheels. And use a torque wrench on those lug nuts. I recall leaving a community college in my TR250 roadster and suddenly, at around 50 MPH, the vehicle dropped to the ground as I watched my wheel traveling in front of me as I struggled to maintain control. It was back when everybody had a strong buy American sentiment so I’ve always suspected someone loosened those lugnuts, perhaps without really considering the possible consequences.

      @@annettesurfer that is the biggest comment I've ever gotten and I thank you for that. Regarding your one floor jack paragraph it was common back in the day to lift the rear end up by putting the Jack in the middle of the differential

      Sometimes a free manual can be found online. i didn't have one for this project. I have heard that filters can be had from dealers. I searched and searched on the internet. Even just for a type the same size. Definately try to find the filter - the method i used was a lot of work. It is still okay though. In theory i should change the spin off filter but i have so many other things to fix. Actually the power steering on the tractor leaks so bad i can't use it. That will be a winter project and spring video.

      @@BhodieBob I have a 1962 Ford 4000 with a very similar heavy duty loader on it..I changed out the front mounted "stinger" pump out and the a custom suction hose made for it..a little longer than the one that came on it..after I fixed everything the loader worked great..then I tried to lift a big heavy Oak tree trunk I chain sawed and a seal blew out on 1 0f the 2 loaders levers that raise and lower the loader..when the seal blew out the loader went straight up to its highest point and stayed they until I shut the tractor off..then the loader came down...I replaced the seal and refilled with hydraulic fluid and even after bleeding all the air out of the system the loader will barely raise up now. I am wondering if I have a filter in the frame too where I add the hydraulic fluid to...I am hoping I have one and it's clogged because I have no idea why the loader won't raise any higher..I am tired of working on it with no results. I just cleaned mine. Separate the magnetic coil from the pump and the impeller should spin freely without the pull of the magnetic field. If not, it's gummed up! I couldn't get the impeller out so I pryed it up a little and worked dish soap and then vinegar into the impeller. Neither freed it up so I tried Marvel Mystery oil. Started to free up so I finally sprayed some universal lube (WD40 would work too) into the impeller from a can and worked that in pulling up and down or shaking the impeller housing and rotating the impeller until it spun freely even under the faucet! Reinstalled on washer, works quiet and efficiently again! Like new!

    Well done. I like this system. I built one to raise a 25' mast alone - failed! It was a rotating hoist that the bottom 6' of the mast rested in but the problem was that all of the power was low on the mast and it couldn't, even with pullies (or my full 270 lb body weight pushing down on the end of the hoist) lift that long mast (even though it's very light to carry around one-handed if held in the middle). So now rethinking it and then this popped up the next morning. This is the best one I've seen for what I need - you have the gin pole (if that's the right term) pulling on a point much higher up on the mast). So going to steal your idea. Any chance you have any more detailed pics? (Such as how you have the gin pole attached to the deck and how it is supported?) Thanks!

      I started farming and the poor sail boat sits lonely. I still have all the stuff. I was looking at a tripod lift I made for the motor. It worked but kind of troublesome. As I recall the mast lifter did work well. The mast isn't light either. Takes two guys to carry it around - I usually don't have help though. Maybe I moved it one end at a time. I'm pretty sure I couldn't pick it up and carry it. It's hanging in the barn. Stretches half the lenght of the barn. I do have a dream of sailing in lake michigan some day. i need a new motor and a bigger truck. ha ha

    • @jepomer
      @jepomer 4 місяці тому

      @@BhodieBob - your setup simply needs some lateral (port/starboard) support. It should rotate about the same level as the mast step pin. Otherwise, your setup is very similar to the many successful mast stepping/unstepping setups on UA-cam and similar to what I use on my Capri 22 - a similar sized boat to yours. Just to make a point, I have raised and lowered the Capri 22 mast by myself without anything else by just "hefting" it up and down. At 72, I know best to use my gin pole (whisker pole) and bridle along with moving the sheet blocking to the bow. A simple a-frame setup at the mast step area would be a simple solution in the same thoughts as your motor tripod.

I used one 2x6 (10’) with a notch cut out. I also had a 2x6 (10’) that I cut in half. I lifted 1 side and slid the 5 footer underneath the leg. Then did the same to the other one. At this point, I took the remaining 10 foot 2x6 and mounted a handle (I had lying around) towards the bottom. Pushed up and pulled with the handle and it went right up.
