Absolutely, they will
In medical presentations , images are more important than text( personal opinion) so these types of layouts and designs can make it look more better.
But yeah u can't use dynamic designs for ur images.
For example : sir showed the symmetry design
U can't put image of anatomy of an important part like Heart there coz the lines will hide some parts of the heart
How do you add color inside the grid lines? They are individual rectangles right?
Chief I have been wanting to ask you for the longest time if you could create a video for creating PowerPoint master slides using fractal elements, those small dots and spores which are abstract but look beautiful and bring depth to the foreground.
I would love to learn that, fractals are very hard to make and stock fractals just don't sit right

In some ways, yes. However, as a freelance graphic artist/designer Canva lacks at least three powerful features that MS PowerPoint has: (1) Vector Drawing/Tracing Tools; (2) The Merge Shapes Feature Set; &, (3) Better Gradient Options.

Sir now I have stopped using the boring default slide templates
I just use blank slide layout and then use images as Background
This can be an another way of creating engaging slides - don't use default slide templates
