I think there is a resurgence of anti-palestinianism because at this point in time, Isreal has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think Hamas is going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Israel is not going to be the monolithic society they once were in the last 70 years. Hamas is going to be at the center of that. It’s a huge transformation for Israel to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode, and Hamas will be resented because of their leading role. But without that leading role, and without that transformation, Isreal will not survive.
If they’re parading a dead woman’s body around in the streets and EVERYONE at the scene is spitting on her, I don’t think the hostages are making it out alive, and I don’t think the IDF will hold back… not this time

They WERE the government of Gaza. They killed Americans and America has a habit of going an eye for an eye. I see two possibilities, Hamas turns over the militants and the kidnapped Americans and quietly goes away, or the most likely one. Gaza is reduced to a rubble pile and America has a brand new airfield in the middle east. I prefer the first, but at this point the second wouldn't surprise me and it shouldn't surprise anyone else.

Likely because it was within IDF lines but they were overrun. Israel has had good intelligence up until this point so they usually prevent terrorism before it reaches them (that’s what the raids you saw with all the ‘free Palestine’ comments underneath them were all about).

There will always be a segment of (any) society that wants vengeance, retribution or just loves to hate. We have such ones in this country, in Palestine and in Israel and all around this troubled planet, However, I do believe that the majority would want peace, would honor a treaty and the world would be better for it. Most Palestinians just like most Israelis would choose to live together in peace but cruel and evil individuals like Netanyahu and a sick faction of the Knesset WANT violence and crave chaos and so the innocent (ON BOTH SIDES) suffer.@@austin374
an open-air prison where the average age and life expectancy is less than 30 and there is little clean water or electricity or medical care and no food allowed in... gosh I wonder why a lot of boys and young men in such a situation just simply don't care if they live or die anymore
It seems more like a zoo not prison. Human are kept in prison not animal.
I blame the British, they should have divided up the area after WW2.
