12:39 ⭐⭐Thanks for the shout out, Jordan! Yes...Happy I was able to get I'm Setsuna this late in the Switch's life cycle at a reasonable price. ⭐⭐ Feel better soon!
I pre-ordered the Annapurna Collection. I rationalize the price by the price of the games individually. Physically, each game runs about $30. So you'd only get 6 for $200, and no collector book, or Switch pouch. It is expensive up front though. But people have paid as much for collector's editions of One game with dumb filler. At least it's 12 games here.
Could you please do a video on Star Ocean letting us know if it can be played off the card without a download? If it's just a language thing and the game is still playable I will buy it but I'm not buying a game that would force me to connect my console to the internet.
11:54 ⭐ I'm very glad you liked that beautiful pickle, Jordan! On a side note, I had a hard time taking that shot because of the on and off rainy weather at that time.
The Annapurna Interactive Collection, while experimental, is good value for money. Nearly all highly regarded games in a very good package (which you did not touch on). Add up the cost of the actual games and this is very much a "value pack" of high quality independently produced games. The games + packaging indicates to me the contents justify the price.
I'd just want an Edith Finch stand alone re-release, but no, $200 package deal with games I don't really care about, well, Gorogoa is a game I also like in that collection, the others, don't really care for them
the $200 is ridiculous but considering i did want some of those games physically and would have costed more anyway then it was still a good value in comparison
I have the 3 Style games on 3DS. Great to see this coming to Switch! I picked up the first on randomly years ago and got hooked. And I’m not even the target demographic for it. I’ve never played any other such games but this series I really like. And then Star Ocean this week as well! And I have no money.
I recently got Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Neon City Riders, and Playasia also got copies of Catmaze, they get some of theirs sometimes, and i'm waiting for it to ship once they get some in stock.
Cant wait to get both physical version of my Star Ocean. Ordered the standard and play asia version. That Playasia box art have no business looking that good
@@mariomartinez-wg2pt Edit (04/11/2023): I can confirm that the Asian version has the full game on the cartridge and the physical release does not have the "download required" banner which confirms that the additional download is optional. This might also apply to the Japanese version as well. So, for those who ordered the mentioned physical versions, you are safe. This probably only applies to the US version. I'll try to check the Japanese or Asian version when it arrives on my doorstep. At least as far as I know, the European release does not have the download required thing considering all of the languages are in the cartridge.
@@mariomartinez-wg2pt i thought it was also strange that First departure never gotten a physical release, even japan or play asia doesn't even have those..pretty sure that's how Square see Star Oceans IP..we also hearing that we have to download another 3gb for language pack for the upcoming 2nd story R because they use a smaller game cartridge card
I have to disagree with you on the Annapurna collection. It's 12 games on one cart (plus the Switch case and cart case) which breaks down to less than $17 per game (not including the cases). I lucked out with Sayonara Wild Hearts on a random Best Buy clearance for $11, but usually these games costs upwards of $30-40 physically, Switch or not. I think it's a really good value for a lot of great games. And yeah there's a shipping cost, but I paired it with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk for Xbox, so it wasn't a big deal. I think you're needlessly negative on this one.
I agree, I have all Annapura games on steam and they are great. Sadly I played them all over years and see no purpose to buy it on switch. I also can't imagine playing neon white on switch.
The issue is most aren't thinking about the future, a few peeps are saying it a good value but don't you think if it sell out, other companies won't notice and pull the same move?, most people dislike the $70 price tag as it is, not to mention the microtranaction, dlc, battle pass nonsense they sprinkle on top of most titles, the last thing we need is to enable more greediness with these money grubbing companies
@@RMK245 I guess I don't really see the greed or lack of value given what's included for the price. It's also a collector's item. And given how many limited companies, like Strictly and LRG, chop up collections for single releases, if this sells out, shouldn't it encourage more publishers to release entire collections in one package/one cart/disc? Because if we're going purely by sale prices of digital versions compared to this collection, then that would apply to all physical releases versus their digital sale prices. So what really is the argument here?
I'm definitely looking forward to the Star Ocean game. I ordered it along with the upcoming Dragon Quest Monsters game back in June from VGP. I don't take my consoles on-line so I hope that download isn't actually needed to play the game.
🌟 Preordered Star Ocean but didn't even bother remembering the release date. I am waiting on my own Smelter CE copy, hopefully Will get an update soon.
Already pre-ordered Fashion Dreamer and Mineko's Night Market from VGP to get free shipping! Tbh tho, I only got it from VGP because I can't preorder the game from Amazon US anymore
🌟Star Ocean: The Second Story R and The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone are ones Im looking forward to except with Smurfs I'll wait for a sale. Great video as always.
⭐- interested in Star Ocean, but at this point I'll probably pick it up for the PS5. Because the Switch is so late in its life, and performance is starting to really be suspect when compared to other platforms, unless a game is a Switch exclusive I tend to buy it for another console (since I'm not interested in portability and only play my Switch docked).
⭐Jordan my kids did the same thing with Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, played about 10 hours but have over 100 hours in Sword. I think its the open world in S/V that confuses them as there's too many options for them. Whereas a more limited number of options (places to go) is easier for them.
As good as the Annapurna Collection may be, that price is outrageous, I can't wait for it to sell out, so that other companies take notice and copy the same strategy in the future(because you know they will), pissing everyone off in the process
"they managed to make USK look good" 👏👏 a true miracle! I wonder if My Time at Sandrock will have the same lag issues and limitations on Switch as the first game. Iirc you can place no more than 30 items on your farm which is way too little with all the crafting machines available and the sheer amount of materials you have to craft to progress. It made me drop the game so hopefully Sandrock has improved on that front. ⭐
yea to bad part two of dlc wont even be available till next year. and because it dosent fix bugs im waiting till both parts are available especilly with the game being as buggy as it is
I mean, I won't buy it mostly as I'm in the EU, but it doesn't sound like a bad value proposition? The individual games that released thus far were 30-40 bucks. So that would mean buying them separately would cost you between 360-480 bucks. Note: I'm calculating as if all 12 games had received a standalone physical edition. You're probably cheaper off buying digital, but that's the case for most digital indie games anyway. Idk, maybe use dekudeals to track the current (promo) price of the 12 games and then judge based off of that if it's worth it for you? Also: this will be a collector's item, so you'll probably be able to sell it for the same price (if not more) in the future if you'd decide to get rid of it.

I ordered it. It’s a better deal than the PS4 version was, as it has more games and comes with a carrying case.
17:00 thank you. Loving sonic superstars and sword art online last recollection!
$200 for one cartridge really does bring back those memories of Action 52.
A lot of people doing the math to try and justify it too
