Back in the 90’s and early 2000’s we would show up on an island without any booking and just go pick someone with a sign at the Harbour. Hell once I even went to Pireas port and picked the next next boat going to an island, wanted to go to Folegandros but had to wait too long and instead hoped on the one to IOS.
I wish it was still possible to do this. Very rarely do I see people offering rooms at the ports nowadays. And now I am not sure they would be very nice.
Island hopping was my first experience of Greece - in summer 1988 ! I have returned (mostly to Crete) many, many times since. I hope to be on a Greek island again in 2025. Another great video, Tiffany. Keep it up.
Wow Naxos has changed a lot since my last visit in 1999. Hopefully I will get the chance to visit it again soon. You seem like you are at home and have this glow when you are in Naxos. Great last minute decision. I look forward to seeing more.
You are lovely and I love your videos. Im from Serbia, I discovered you when I went to Athens for the first time 4 months ago. Watching your videos ever since. Much love , visit Belgrade, we are relatively close :)
Absolutely loved the video. We go to Naxos every year. We eat regularly in the Oasis and every morning walk into the harbour and have coffee and cake in Kitron. Manolos restaurant on St George's beach is worth going to for lunch and in the evening also - great food and beautiful views. We are looking forward to our trip there in late August. Enjoy your island hop.
Love your video. Just came back from Naxos a month ago. Absolutely spectacular. First time in Greece and after spending a few days outside of Athens , Naxos was more beautiful than the pictures or videos on line. So glad we chose Naxos over Paros. We stayed close to agios Georgios beach. Didn’t have a bad meal anywhere. Took a full day tour of the island with the Naxos bus transfer company and highly recommend it. Didn’t rent a car and walked everywhere. I miss it
That part (3:49)its my favourite part of the trip, ive done it,a thousand times, since childhood, till now that im a grown man and i never get tired of it..dont you just love it Tiffany?
I absolutely loved Naxos when I visited back in 2022 also! I’m pretty positive I saw you when I was grabbing a Covid test from the pharmacy back when restrictions were super tight. Hope you’re well ❤
My wife and I LOVED Naxos! Such a beautiful sweet island! You also went to Kitron I see!! One of our favorite spots especially the little couch seats by the entrance (if not occupied)!! The island is actually sooo huge that there's still so many spots I'd love to visit!
OMG, I am so excited. Greece will the the last destination on my eight week European holiday from Australia (starting five weeks from today). We arrive in Athens on September 19 for seven nights. Then to Naxos for seven nights. Then Paros (Naousa) for six nights. Then back to Athens for another three nights. I am hoping it will be relaxing, informative and exciting all rolled up in one package.Thank you so much for all your content over the last year or so as it has been valuable information that probably would have saved us much disappointment and stress. Keep up the great work, and enjoy the rest of your island hopping. All the best, Mark.
I'm starting to think of ending my upcoming fall-season Italy trip with a jaunt over to Greece, with the idea of hitting some of the islands in the south. What is the weather like in the islands during the late October/early November timeframe? TYVM in advance! BTW, I also watched your LHR Layover video and definitely agree you need a minimum 3 hours layover if you're transferring. In a comment over there, I stated my conviction that LHR **had** to have been designed by M. C. Escher.
It will be variable. I have had it be warm enough to swim and some years its been cool and rainy. This might help, ua-cam.com/video/xyf-aU6YkWw/v-deo.htmlsi=yZqZqhY0hc4PXIPg Definitely designed by M.C. Escher as is the Frankfurt airport!! Total maze.
Definitely not that hot but manageable. Air temperature and sea water starts cooling off especially when sun rises. Way less crowds, cheaper and lot quiter. The more south (Crete, Rhodes) the warmer.
Last minute decisions and trips ... this sounds like you are becoming one of us. Hooray! In case you are still hopping around the Cyclades, have loads of fun! By the way I am still confused by the color of your eyes... Are they blue or green?
I'm a bit biased because I'm from there, but you should totally visit Crete if you find the time! For the first time I'd recommend going to Chania and after exploring the city, rent a car and go to the Southern beaches as well. But check the routes on streetview beforehand, because some roads are super narrow, very high up on the side of a mountain, but still go both ways😂 Take care!!
I have a party of seven going to Athens and Mykonos in October. Is there anyway you can help me with transport advice from the airport to our first destination, then to the ferry then from Mykonos to our second destination and to the airport to leave I do appreciate your videos videos and they make my trip look easier
I always use Welcome Pickups for airport transfers. They can also assist with transport to the port and in Mykonos. www.welcomepickups.com/airport-transfer-book/?tap_a=26297-438366&tap_s=2082833-652438

@kyriakoskaplanis5227 September is usually better. Take a big slow ferry as they are more stable. Sit in the middle of the ship and if you get sick go outside and look at the horizon. 😊
I've seen there is a big push against tourism in Athens now, both from the government and the locals. This is concerning to me, because I have a trip planned there in a few months. Do I need to be worried?
There will be a few more in the next video. And I have a whole article about where to eat. agirlandherpassport.com/best-restaurants-in-naxos/ It needs updating but I will be doing that soon! 😊

I rarely see any. But it might be bad this year because of the increased heat.
