this happened to my wife in a parking lot..was waiting on wrecker watched this video I had some zip ties 8n my truck..took me a few min..and it worked saved me $100 cash great video
Great story ... my colleague spend couple week in parking lot trying to find what was wrong.
Worked like a charm I did this myself thank you 😊
U saved my life bro THANKS I thought I was STRANDED😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
on the video i have fixed my colleague car. it was sitting 2 weeks because of this issue.
i tried it. thanks, it works. i used to ties and it worked but later used another zip. that other one i bought using the bushing is no good. doesn't last a year. thanks for sharing. UPDATE: My zip ties slipped off. the zip ties were still good. I used 2 zips this time and it worked. For how long, I don't know. going to redo mine and use your 3 zip ties. better then bushings.
glad to help! it was my colleague car and he was going to salvage it or sell before i have found what was wrong. did you use the 3 zip scheme as well? one for pin, one for lug/arm and one to joint them?
@@RUS_US I trimmed the one was around the pin, and tied it down with another tie. then used a third one to secure the tie around the pin. some how it worked. I was going to use the bushing kit but it doesn't last long. so junk. i'm keeping zip ties in my car, just in case it I have to replace it.
@@RUS_US yours works better, more secure but mine works too by luck. it could but won't come loose. so I just leave it that way till it wears out. thanks. I think it will hold up longer. these chevy cars can be tough to fix.
@@waimeaguyz9074 good ... i guess you keep some zip ties in car just in case :D ... yea design was a junk ... repair parts are junk. I had replaced a steering cable for my 1993 Yamaha jetski ... and it failed after 1 year of use when original was working since 1993. I have tried to put new transmission solenoid on my 2001 Chrysler town and country ... but all "new" solenoids did hard shifting and only salvage yard part did a smooth shifting. Sometimes it is smarter to get old used parts or real OEM original parts which costs 2 or 3 times higher
@@RUS_US UPDATE: Well mine finally broke. I did it wrong but somehow it worked but I forgot what I did and reverted back to your video. Yours works better than mine.
This is also the culprit and fix for the Pontiac g6 that won’t crank!!
🤣
Help! I do not understand your zip tie method. I have an Impala with similar fittings. Can you make a video just showing how you did it?
done. see at the end of this video or by link ua-cam.com/video/PMTY2mSFxyo/v-deo.html
Will replacing the brushing work as well besides zip ties or no?
what bushings? official repair kit? we did not try it because it was too expensive. $50+ for parts +200$ for work.
@@RUS_US instead of zip ties you cam bust bushings on it my bushing had fell off so i bought some at autozone and put one it better then zip ties tbh
@@MoneyMan-sl1ho price?
I got a bushing from Amazon for a 09 malibu thing lasted 2 weeks for 35 bucks
Wherw u places the zip ties there should go a little plastic cap to keep those things from separating, anyone know the name of it? The plastic cap?
I saw there are repair kits available online
@@RUS_US would u know the name of the kit so i can search it plz?
@@ballerboi2559 i do not remember. Search youtube or google. It is common problem.
Can I show me how u put that cuz I need a quick fix for mine
glad you found it!
Where is the video showing how you put the zip ties on?
there is no such video because it was improvisation and i just recorded a result. if you stop it and take a closer look you will get the idea:
1) one zip tie goes on the pin neck
2) one zip tie goes on the lug
3) one zip ties connects the 1) and 2)
What part is supposed to go on top of it
question is not clear. there are repair kits available. try to check their parts.
@@RUS_US what is the part that is needed to hold it together? My car just did this what was holding it there before so I can order a new one.
@@Aa-ron22gear shift link bushings
How does that work?
3 zip ties to connect pin and hinge. Manufacturer did some rubber/plastic part which did not last long and cost a lot ... hard to replace.
