I served Cava at my wedding, and nobody knew the difference. It's my go-to sparkling wine.
Haha I often serve Cava to at weddings :D
@@plasticusclinic i served Cava at my wedding 30 years ago
She is so cute and unique. Lovely!!. Thanks for covering " I can drink the crap of that bottle"
Every weekend my wife and I drink cava. During the new years, we don't go out but instead drink 5 different bottles of a mix of champagne and cava while watching 200 cigarettes. They are both great imo just depends on the occasion. For cava, we always go for Freixenet.
Great video Madeline, can we have more like this?
Always a pleasure listening to you :)
Yes you can!
I love the 2 handed pour Done perfectly show off.
I can only wish to ever see an episode of "my drunk kitchen" style wine folly. Like, the real fun of being "my drunk sommelier" ;)
An absolutely kicking review from a drinker that really knows her onions: Chapeau ma'am, and lang may yer lum reek!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 haven’t heard that in a while,
Thank you. Very informative. The volume is a little low otherwise great work.
Maddie i remember this from a bit ago. You know i think you are awesome!
Love you Madeline. 😍
Thank you Madeline. I really enjoyed this video, it is a great format for you. Best head to head tasting I have seen since Gary V. moved on to other things. Stay adorable and keep up the good work... Cheers!
Wow. I ♥ Garyvee!
The best spanish cava is from Extremadura and Castill-Leon
Not in a million years! And everyone knows that hahahahahaha.
@@Rmn-6324 Stop smoking car tires...
I would love to drink some wine with you, Madelaine!
Oh I love the last comment - watch to the end! LOL :-)
Champagne is my fave, followed by cava....then Aussie sparkling...not a huge fan of Crement or Prosecco
Try Crémant de Bourgogne. They have great aged versions: Eminent (24 months on lees) and Grand Eminent (36 months on lees) that are starting to give (cheaper) Champagnes a run for their money.
@@JackyBlisson there's also a bunch of other sparkling wines/cremant from other regions in France that are really good. Limoux in the South....I think their sparkling wine making goes back about as far as Champagne
Problem is, most people buy the low cost Cava (think TJ $5.00 Cava) which is generic lifeless generic sparkling wine.
Hi there, What type of Zwiesel 1872 Wine Classics are these?
spanish cava is amazing … dry with low sugar … 15 euro a bottle or less in europe 💚💚💚
I can buy for 7€. 🤡
Where did you find the Juve y Camps in Seattle?
Hi Madeline like your videos. Do you have French ancestors because of your name. I'm from Germany.
😂🥂
She sounds pisssed 🤣
You're keeping dozens of bottles in your living room ???
Yep. Those are "drink now" non cellar wines.
I wish I had your young liver. Mine tells me to slow down :(
Yours is smart. I only drink a glass a night :)
Madeline, what is the acceptable standard size of a "glass" of wine?
Jenn C
Her glass has bottle-size ☺
But no, I also usually drink a bottle every 4 - 7 days. According to Cellar Tracker I opened 161 bottles in 2014, 113 in 2015 and this year only 71 so far. Apparently that is still too fast.
In Catalonia, we traditionally don't drink cava with main dishes or apperitives. It's main place are the desserts...
oh wow. That's really interesting. It's so good with Thai food and tacos!
@@Winefolly You could try It with a good cake or strawberries and cream.
i fall in love for you
Cool video :) ..just a little hint, "Xarello" pronounces more like "cha-rel-oh" but that's just a detail ;)
I bet she comes drunk to work.
The best spanish cava is from Extremadura and Castill-Leon
Wow, that's pretty unexpected considering the majority the US market sees comes from Catalunya. What do you recommend for Extremadura? Curious to hear more about the wines you're hinting at.
@@Winefolly The most interesting and 100% better quality cava are the Extremadura and Castilla Leon, and I never buy catalan products or catalan cava Among the best Extremadura cava there are Via De La Plata, Lars de Plata, Marques de Badajoz, Peñalba Lopez
@@Winefolly He's just lying, but you will taste by yourself...
@@Winefolly It _is_ originary from Catalunya, and the best cava makers are from there as seen repeatedly in multiple competitions. There are political (and historical) tensions between Catalunya and the rest of Spain, especially with regions like Extremadura. From the tone of his comment, I'm guessing that's the source of his behaviour. I find it distasteful to include these viewpoints into an art which should solely concentrate on the wines themselves.
Wow, this video told me absolutely nothing
Honey I need information about wine for my business come be my guest or be my girlfriend
madeline. I unterstand wine folly is for beginners and price concious people, but besides both being sparkling wine, Cava and Champagne are different. it is like comparing a burgenländischen Blaufränkisch with a pinot noir from Burgundy cause both are red. anyways keep up the good work.
I can compare a car to a bicycle and I think these two forms of transportation are farther apart than Cava and Champagne. So... why can't I compare Cava to Champagne?
Wine Folly true. sorry if i have given offense. just a lil Bit grumpy right now. need more sparkling wine in my life. keep up the good work! ;-)
Michael Tschuertz i got you man! You can always compare sth expensive to something cheap and they can be equal. But if cava were to be invented before champagne and were to be what it was today with 3x the price, the video would be exactly the same. Im drinking nyetimber right now and i dont think its worth the price. Would i buy it again? Probably not. Would i drink it if somebody else pays for it? Absolutely! CHAMPAGNE!!!!!!
Sorry can’t compare 2 wines that don’t even have the same grapes in them. Cava taste cheaper than most Champagne, well i can taste them apart in every category. What’s next Pinot Noir verses Tanot? Now Barolo, Barbaresco, and Nebbiolo from Langhe other sub regions would be a proper comparison.
She’s comparing 2 sparkling wines that both use traditional method.. you absolute philistine. Back to bed with you
