I still wish GM made this model. I had great luck with the reliability of the Chevy 305 V8. May not have been the most powerful small block built, but once the cam shaft issue was resolved, it gave years and years of great service. Plate C
2:47......................An '84 Caprice wagon was where I first heard seat belt reminder chimes in a car. Back then, at 5 years old, I called them "ding-ding buzzers" since buzzers were all I had experience with up until that point
I used to have a 1985 Caprice. The front seat was stuck all the way in the back position. That wasn't a problem for me, because I'm 5'11 1/2," and I had no problems seeing the road, reaching the pedals and all that.
I don’t think enough people have seen this video. You should have over 7k likes. What an amazing car man. I am getting an ‘83 as well. Picking it up next week. 40k original miles. Question(s) Did you redo the interior? (Especially the headliner)? I love it. Also, my car is black with black painted rear view mirrors. Did you add the chrome ones or are they stock? … beautiful car man. I’m gonna save this video so I can refer to it when cleaning up my engine bay. Goodluck brotha 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
The painted mirrors were referred to as sport mirrors or some crap like that most had chrome. Just another option box or appearance package that could've got checked if someone special ordered their car. I have an 89 ls brougham which according to my dad has the same mirrors an iroc camaro would have had back then. That blue is sexy though and the pinstripe pops nice car. I agree seriously needs more views. Had to edit I just assumed it had the actual regular chrome gm mirrors of the period. Which it does not almost look like heated lincoln mirrors or something. I guess I should watch the whole video before commenting lol. She's been painted though if anyone noticed the caprice front fender emblem is not in the right place
My first car was a 87 square car. My parents had a 88 Classic. While the seats are period correct, several things are not. Like bumper grill, head lights, and tail light, oh rear view mirrors. Those where found on the 85 thou 81. Not a true 88, Nice non the less.
In 1980 my Grandpa had exact this European Model. I loved that car so much. It was very special back then in Germany.

Bulletproof design. Simple and reliable. Even these smog V8s were easy to work on and were pretty dependable.
Wow she's in great shape! What a beauty.
