the Roland has/had a nasty feature. You can fire the rocked optically as well AND combine optical and Radar.
So you can fire optical and then activate the radar lock, thus reducing the reaction time for the pilot to virtually almost nothing...
The sad thing - DCS does not have the reloading modelled. It really looks nice. The turret goes to the neutral position, two empty tubes are automatically ejected, the magazines open and the rails lower themselves into the magazines to grap new launching tubes. When you see it in real, it does not feel like 6 seconds more like 3-4.
One question does DCS have the Roland on the 8x8 15t truck and the small Roland on Wiesel weapon-carrier as well?
Last question, will you do the tanks etc as well?

the early warning radar for the roland system only is a passalong for its radar, its its very helpfull as the roland can lock a target form well further than its own track radar, and the radar vehicle also has higher fedelity, with the EWR vehicle units in a roland group can target ATGMs that they otherwise couldent do to there own track radar being comparitavely junk (it can detect them but not in time for it to lock and fire) also Cap Shift+L for auto laying of the turret. it helps alot and makes the slow tracking of the roland less of a issue, the roland IRL also employs optical tracking and fireing like the tangusta when the radar is off via SACLOS guidance, meaning its can also scare the shit out of some ground targets.

This is very cool, but it makes me curious. I was in the Army as a Patriot Missile crewman, I know the Patriot system is in DCS but are you able to go inside the ECS and engage targets like this? Have you done a video on the Patriot Missile System? I would love to see it.
