Winning the Europe League and getting second in the league would be a huge improvement, and something I’ll definitely be happy with. Maybe a domestic cup as well, and I don’t think there’ll be anything to complain about. I don’t think that there should be expectations about winning the league, considering that our team still isn’t a completely finished product in this rebuild. We should obviously still go for the league, but not winning it, and still winning another trophy would be amazing. I think this guy has unrealistic expectations about how good we are, and how good we should be, considering how good we were a couple of years ago.

Let's not forget the reds are the only other side to top 90 points of the chasing pack and I'm telling you they are the only team Pep and City are truly scared of.
The Uefa Cup / Europa league is and also has been a huge trophy for any club! Its also the only piece of silverware missing from Klopp's mantel, I for one would be elated to win the Europa league and finish 2nd, more signings in January / Summer and then push for the league and champions league next season, if we won it all this season it would be absolutely mental!
@@baconmemories5416 Big games coming up which will definitely test our ability to go the distance, if we can win against spurs and Brighton, I say why not 😅
@@ACSSneakers Yes, those are the litmus tests, imo. WHU are a slightly tricky match-up for us, but realistically we haven't played anyone yet bar Newcastle. Spurs and especially Brighton will test us. I'm hopeful, but not convinced we are the finished article. I don't think you can win the league when your defence looks iffy even against bottom half opposition. There's still work to do, imo. On the other hand, the feeling I had when Mane/Bobby/Salah were in their pomp together that I'm not bothered if we go a goal down cos we can always score two or three is back. We're also much less one-dimensional now, with goals coming from all over the place. Even Robbo scored (and he should've been scoring 5 a season this whole time imo).
I’m surprised he’d prefer fa cup over the Europa league as I consider it a bigger trophy, idc if rivals banter it and if it means no open top bus, I’d love to win it, also I’d doubt we’d have a open top bus for just a FA cup as well. We only had a bus parade in 21/22 due to winning two trophies not one. A European trophy means a European run, and nothing is better than that.
@@sonic.garden To be fair, I get the point. He's from a generation that still valued the FA cup. So am I. Winning the EL is like winning the League Cup - you'll take it, but it's the second best cup competition you have to lose or lose out to enter, so meh. It's an event for clubs like Sevilla, it would be an event for a club like Brighton or Villa, because they're just below that top echelon and don't have the funds to compete at the very top. Liverpool rightly celebrated the UEFA Cup win in 2001 because we were in a barren period, but we've won the League, the CL, been to two more CL finals and narrowly lost out with 90+ points in the league twice and quadruple chances, all in the last few years under Klopp. We're well and truly back at the top table of European football. Only RM and AC Milan have more European Cups, Barca are behind us despite their golden era lasting nearly two decades, and that's partly down to us as well ;) It just wouldn't be proper to celebrate an EL win very much, but the best domestic cup - fair enough. It's all in the context, for most other clubs, including the likes of Spurs, it'd be very, very different. He wasn't asked if he'd be happy, he was asked if he'd "take it". I agree with him that aiming for the EL is poor. It's what ManU do now. We have to aim for the league title, even if it's unlikely given where City are and where we are in our development, anything besides a league or European title I wouldn't "take" at the start of the season. If that's what we end up with, I'll happily say it's progress given our recent dip, but I won't settle for it with 6 games played.
As a Liverpool fan myself, can we just calm down? My aim is to get back to the champions league. By that I mean finish 2nd or 3rd. Not 4th. Anything else is a luxury
I'm a Liverpool supporter. I take 2nd and European silverware in a heartbeat. I understand Ade's point about greater aspirations, but results like 2nd and silverware are a springboard to really go at everything the following year. Winning silverware begets winning more silverware. (BTW, we had 84 points in 2013-14, and lost to City's 86).
If that's what we end up with, I'll be happy with the progression. But there's no way I'd settle for that at the beginning of the season with 6 games played. I'll take a slim chance of going for the title over anything else available to us this season.
4:24 As a Liverpool fan, i gotta disagree with Ade because we can only win the competitions that we're involved in regardless if we believe to be a higher calibre of team than the rest of the europa league. Winning any trophy will breed confidence throughout our entire team and give us that push to go bigger next season. We can mount a title charge this season and possibly win if City begin to fall off but finishing 2nd and winning the europa league is a season I would accept as it is a step in the right direction for this club to go on and achieve greater things moving forward
I'm not saying anything until we play Spurs and Brighton. If we can get 6 points away from Anfield against two teams that are in good form that play great attacking football then we should at least be considered title contenders. If we can somehow get something from the Etihad in November then we're certainly in a title race
Indeed. We haven't played anyone serious yet bar maybe Newcastle. And WHU if you squint hard enough. It's not even the points, although we need them to apply pressure on City, I want to see us perform. Brighton done us what, twice last season, comprehensively? I want to see Klopp come up with a way to deal with their play style and execute it with the players we have.
Here we go. I much preferred it when pundits and UA-camrs alike were underrating Liverpool😅 we are bouncing back after a disappointing season, I’m just happy to see the improvement.
@@juventus23 What's weird is that everyone seems to have forgotten that the last time we had a nightmare season, the following year we were two games short of winning the quadruple that City lost any chance of last night (whilst still in - checks notes - September)...

I would be happy with 2nd in the league, winning the Europa league and doing well in the fa cup, that would be a very good season in my mind and something great to build on
I think it's a season too soon for the title. Rebuild has been good so far but tough to achieve in one window. Still a couple of gaps in the squad. Hopefully can win it next season though. I know £200m is a lot of money but I really hope we don't sell salah next summer. I want him to be part of the rebuild and retire at Liverpool. You can see how he's changed his game this season to adapt to the new system, being more creative.
@@andikak706 And Gundogan has gone. He not only got goals, he got goals in games when City couldn't score (rather than adding #4-6 in a rout), so that's a lot of points. There's some hope at least.
Agreed. Spurs and Brighton will be the real test. We haven't played anyone bar Newcastle yet. I don't think we have the defence to go on a big winning run and there's still not enough cohesion in the team - we're having 30-40 minute periods where we can't retain or progress the ball. But it deffo feels like Klopp is cooking/building, very much like it did in his first 1.5 seasons. I'm all here for that. Yeah, I wouldn't sell Mo if we can avoid it. But it's also a question of whether he wants to go in the summer and what the fee is vs losing him for free. 200m wasn't on the table, it was a PR bid, even the 150m was with 50m+ in silly addons. Deffo wouldn't sell for 100m. We'll also see this season how he adapts his game. Signs are good. If he scores a bit less, and he does, but continues to assist at the present rate.. no reason he can't continue doing so for another few years.
I would love to know what Ade is on. We are by no means entitled. Finishing 2nd and winning Europa is the way to go 100%. Look at the team we’re currently competing with in City.
You’re looking at the glass half empty buddy. We are competing ONLY with City. Obviously they’re the favourites, but on form we’re the second best team in the league, then all we need is for us to be consistent and City have a fumble. KDB is injured + City have champions league.
Some times a group of new signings just click straight away. Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge just hit it off and look at the season the club had then. Albeit Beardsley took a while to really hit top form, he was still linking well.
We definitely have a chance, it's the 2 year pattern Liverpool have developed under Klopp. One year fighting for the top 4, the next challenging City to the end for a title.
That's a myth Liverpool 1.0 was built round go full pelt for 4-5 years after which the engine would have naturally died. What happened was a injury ridden season in 20/21 without which liverpool would have had 4 straight years of 90+ points! 22/23 was the season the engine finally died and now we in Liverpool 2.0 which will run for 4-5 years.
As a Liverpool fan I’d love the Europa league obviously it’s not the competition we want but it is what is is I love any trophy we get I still remember when we were shit and we had balotelli and lambert up front
This lfc side has a spark and exciting vibe to it that wasnt there last season. There is energy and dynamism to this current midfield and attacking wise, i think lfc have the most quality in the league by some distance. Defense is a concern but were only 6 games in, so i think there is big room for improvement that will come gradually. If we gain at least 4 points from next 2 games, i might get on the band wagon but only time will tell if this lfc side can put city under pressure. However, theres a lot to be happy about if your an lfc fan right now.
@user-xf6oe6zn9e you are right but in game such as the west ham game, we were carved up at times. It can be better and it will get better in terms of limiting sides
Darwin reminds me of when Peter Crouch joined. OK they're totally different types of striker but the fans fell in love with Crouchy because he kept trying his heart out to score, I think Darwin's exactly the same but with electric pace.
The impact Mac and Sbozo have had this season already is daft. They look to have re generated the midfield and made it better. This team will be better than last season by far. Just need to keep going
As a Liverpool, I think we are not just ready yet. There is another piece of jigsaw missing, and young lads need more maturity. I believe our team will peak next season.
At the start of the season I'd have ripped your arm off for 2nd and Europa, but it shows how the mood around the club has shifted that at this point in time, with the emergence of Szoboszlai, how quickly Mac Allister, Gravenberch and even Endo look to have settled, Curtis Jones continuing his form from last season, Elliott looks strong off the bench, Doak looks like he can cause teams problem late in matches, Nunez has taken it up a level. This is a squad that is fully capable of pushing a full strength City, letalone one which is lacking KDB. One injury to Haaland and Liverpool are favourites in every competition they are in.
We are gonna fight for everything our squad is big enough and we are finding a way to win when it goes wrong!! Winning the Europa league will be great not embarrassing what you on about winning trophies should not be ignored!! We are good and the journey this season win lose or draw is gonna be great this season 👍

Depends what "2nd in the league" looks like. Mourinho's United were second in the league without for a single moment ever looking like potential league winners. I'd want 2nd in the league with the final outcome coming down to last game or two. Ade's under-valuing the Europa League, though. It would mean one thing that winning the FA Cup wouldn't - it would make Klopp the only Liverpool manager to win every competition he's played in at least once (even the great Bob Paisley didn't do that - he got close; the only trophy missing was the FA Cup and he got to the final, but he didn't win it all).
I'm of the opinion that those sorts of records come along with success and when they do, it's nice but not a substitute. We're just not the profile of club for whom the EL is meaningful, it's the CL for smaller sides and big sides from smaller leagues. It would be helpful for this new squad to win something together, but I won't settle for EL - that's the province of ManU. I want Klopp to win at least one or two more major trophies before his era comes to an end.
@@paulie-g No, it’s ManU-like to be arrogant enough to consider any trophy beneath us. We should be trying to win everything that’s in front of us. Also, you make it sound like we have to choose between the EL and other competitions and we really don’t; the further we go in the cups the more games our fringe players get and the better prepared they are when injuries or suspensions require them to step up to the first team.
@@chrispalmer7893 I don't make it sound like anything, it's the way the question was phrased: "Would you take 2nd and an EL win right now?" That's an either-or question. And my answer is I'd rather have a go at a slim chance of winning the title than settle for a mickey-mouse cup. We're Liverpool and we should be aiming high at the beginning of a season. ManU would've been thrilled with the EL if they hadn't sh-t the bed in the final because they've got so few European trophies. Yes, by all means, try to win every comp we're in, but I'm not going to pretend EL is high on my priority list. It's harder than it looks, there's a lot of games and you can't win it playing fringe players. We're doing well in the league because our subs are coming on and doing the business. I don't want them knackered in a nothing game chasing a mickey mouse cup no one's going to notice on our Wall of Champions. We're only playing in that comp because we effed up the timing on our transition from Klopp 1.0 to Klopp 2.0. There's a reason we have 6 European Cups and only 3 UEFA cups - it's because we competed for the European Cup most seasons. I want our next league title. I want our next CL. I'll happily take anything else we get along the way, especially FA cups. Winning a cup and coming second would be a good season if that's what we end up with because it would indicate progression, but it has to be progression towards competing for major honours.
You’re on your own saying not bothered about the Europa league. Ok not as glamorous but it’s still an important trophy and one I’d be proud of Liverpool winning. Add in the final being in Dublin with all the local support there. It’s kind of written into the stars that we should be in it this season for that reason alone. We are in it so we should be looking to win it! Plazzy entitled attitude to think otherwise.
Liverpool is the type of club that only needs one or two more signings to compete for a triple and the ultimate glory, but instead they are like: naaahh lets not sign another CB and or a great DM and lets finish this season one point behind city
I'm telling you that feeling is back the fact that we've only dropped 2 points and this team is just settling in is quite amazing everyone points out that our attack is getting us through games but I'll tell you what I've noticed at the games I've been to is that teams have been overwhelmed by our fitness they just look spent and we just keep running until they crumble and szoboslai epitomises that. The reds are coming up the hill boys😊
Honestly, I'd agree. We're back enough to have renewed optimism, but certainly not title-challenging back. I don't even expect us to beat Spurs on Sat. But honestly, I love Europa League. The opposing teams are always more interesting and more of a mixed bag. It's always the same old in the UCL.
Liverpool should absolutely be confident to beat Spurs. Klopp would have won 3 titles if Pep didn't have the ability to get the prince to back him up. He's by far the best manager in the league and the scary thing is that he knows the PL inside out now. If the team succeeds in finishing with 11 men, Spurs are going to struggle, especially in the second half.
Although the europas the b class European comp but its the perfect comp for us this year. It gives our younger, less ready players a chance to get experience in a less intense tournament. While rebuilding and gelling, we didn't need a complete, high pressure season, we can build confidence this season to go on for better next year

I am a Liverpool fan, been so for a long time. We are not winning the League unless something goes terribly wrong with Man City or Arsenal. Just facts. It is way too early in the year for people to even attempt to suggest that Liverpool is back. We are not. We have always been capable of going a few games without looking weak but at least wait until the end of November - December before looking at that kind of stuff because let us face it. Even with our best team ever, we'll still go out and lose to the weakest teams in the league when we need to win the most so I'll keep watching for now while limiting my expectations to merely getting Champions League football.
Szobo is great! Some matches we will need Endo. He was great against Leicester. I want to see how Liverpool does against Brighton and Spurs however the fan in me says we will beat both of them. It wont be pretty especially Brighton but we will be clinical
Would obviously love it as a Lfc fan but I can’t see a league title incoming. I think that sooner or later a few teams will turn us over but my Optimistic side says that if Lfc are already doing well during a complete rebuild then Liverpool will be an ominous side once Klopps new squad integrates fully.
Rory. Two years ago we nearly did all four, we lost the final because Courtois was superb and we lost the league by 8 minutes. We’ve now added Gakpo, Nunez, Szboszlai, Graven, Mac10, Endo and a couple of wonderful kids. So don’t be silly. Ade, you are so far off with your Europa league view, a win in Dublin would be the best away possible.
What is Ade talking about 😂. The europa league is the 3rd best competition and i would rather win it than the fa cup. 2nd place and EL is definitely a successful season but with city now out of the league cup we should be targeting all the cups.
As a Liverpool fan I absolutely take 2nd in the prem and win Europa. That’s a very successful season. It’s gonna be tough to get into that top 2 of arsenal and city. We’re in it now but it’s only 6 games in. 2nd would be brilliant off the back of last season and a trophy considering this squad isn’t the finished piece yet. We’re getting ahead of ourselves
It would be amazing for the players to win the Europa League. Liverpool fans should demand this. This is a must-have, no question. This is Klopps Super cup don't be fooled. This is the one cup that's gotten away and it'll be a great intruduction to seed in the new players. We have to get all the rings like Thanos!
I think we can deffo do top 4 this season, but I think challenging is a little optimistic. Couldn’t be happier with the start of the campaign, but I feel our defensive frailties will be our downfall. I’d honestly be happy with winning the Europa and 2nd in the league. Maybe if we do beat Spurs and Brighton I might change my mind, but I suppose that’s football and that’s why we love it.
Dom seems much more Gerrard than Alonso to me. Hes box to box with frightening pace, never runs out of steam. Hits absolute rockets and can do it with both feet.
I believe we will challenge because i see the confidence growing in the team but at the same time i have PTSD vs City. Already dropping 2 points compared to them is already scary
I'm an Everton fan, and I know we're shit, but there are only three trophies I care about. The league title, the FA Cup, and the Champions league. (I care about the Europa league because it gets you into the Champions Leauge, but I don't care about the trophy itself). Liverpool are too big to care about the Europa League
I still think Liverpool haven't addressed their deficiencies from last season. However they have strengthened their strength and the attack is firing again (they had 3rd best attack in the league last season despite major underperformances). I'm not quite ready to say challenge City yet, but for me, they're in the top three conversation alongside Arsenal.
For me as a Liverpool fan, I just can't see it yet. We have come from behind so much this season which is honestly not a terrible thing as it shows the lads heads dont go down but I'm yet to see the dominace of the 2019/2020 season or the 2021/22 season. We've also got a completely brand new midfield, which is pretty crazy when you think about it.
I think we expected the midfields to mainly be fresh legs to cover so much of the pitch, but I don't think we expected the G/A contribution from Szobo and I think it's a matter of time for Ginger Messi to start putting up at least good assist numbers if not a few goals. Ngl the way McCal played for Brighton where they blasted into him into pockets and he played first time around the corner for the striker will absolutely go crazy if Nunez gets on the end of those!
ade is so bang on... the engine has some fuel!! that goal yesterday.. jeez fucking belter.. dont care what anyone says Szob is the best signing of the season.
At the time of writing, Liverpool, for all the comments about their defence have the 2nd best goals against tally in the league, 5, 2 behind man city. I dont want the premier league to become the bundesliga. Whats the odds of city winning the league at the start of every season? City need to fall to save the premier league
you have no idea how bad it would be if arsenal won it. unless you're an arsenal fan theres no reason for you to want them to win it. their fans are insufferable after nothings been won. imagine them after winning a title.
Theuve only won 2 in a row, utd won 3 in a row on two occasions before
The impact that just these few signings have made on the team is crazy. Getting rid of baggage and players who stuck around for years too, you can quite literally see the difference in this team.
Its true and syzbozali clicking so fast playing in the heart of the field is huge. I think winning europa cup would be amazing i dont think its a low cup like he was saying
believe me it's still not enough if they want to win the league. they'll have to stay close to city (even better if they are top) till jan and then get andre plus a solid cb. Only then will they have a chance
That makes it even more annoying, because after 21/22 we shouldve improved the midfield then and not wasted a season of klopp

Don’t forget if we’re very lucky super cup
A good season will be winning Europa League and a domestic trophy, a decent season will be just the Europa League. Winning the league would be a sensational season, but one they are capable of.
Who is this Ade guy? I’m impressed, he talks a lot of sense.
I would absolutely take that plus the UEFA cup is the only club in club world football that Klopp hasn't won
i actually think this team is better than before...back then we had Firmino Salah Mane with Shaqiri Origi and ox..compare to now we have Diaz Nunes Salah with Gakpo Jota and Elliot/Doak..and then you compare the midfield...Macca Szobos Endo Jones Elliot Gravenberch and Bajestic to Fabinho hendo Wijnaldum Keita Milner and Ox there no question which is better...the downside in our team is defence..they not as strong as before but other than that..i think this team is better than before and it down to them to proof it...i still think the team can push for the premier league rather than settle on europa league trophy...
First is first, second is nowhere
Finishing 2nd and winning a european trophy is a good season, it means there's clear progress from the old team.

Liverpool are dangerous they've clicked faster than anyone could have expected 18 unbeaten. Klopp has history of beating Pep to the title. Let's not forget the reds are the only other side to top 90 points of the chasing pack and I'm telling you they are the only team Pep and City are truly scared of.
19 unbeaten since we lost to City
The Uefa Cup / Europa league is and also has been a huge trophy for any club! Its also the only piece of silverware missing from Klopp's mantel, I for one would be elated to win the Europa league and finish 2nd, more signings in January / Summer and then push for the league and champions league next season, if we won it all this season it would be absolutely mental!

Yeah! He wilding with that one fr. xd
Totally agree

Did he say Mac allister is 28 convincingly 😂he needs to be knowing these things about his own club , and if anyone is obtuse he is 24

Mad to “already” expect a title challenge. My god Rory. They had one off season. The spine that competed at the highest level is still there
I think it's a season too soon for the title.
The gap is small because KDB is injured.

Let's find out this Saturday
This lfc side has a spark and exciting vibe to it that wasnt there last season. There is energy and dynamism to this current midfield and attacking wise, i think lfc have the most quality in the league by some distance. Defense is a concern but were only 6 games in, so i think there is big room for improvement that will come gradually. If we gain at least 4 points from next 2 games, i might get on the band wagon but only time will tell if this lfc side can put city under pressure. However, theres a lot to be happy about if your an lfc fan right now.
Defence is a concern? We've got the second best defence in the league. No one has put more than a goal past us even when playing 10 vs 11.
Mac Allister 28? Broski hes 24

The FA Cup gets you into the Europa, the Europa gets you in the Champions League

Bring Ade on The Club for a Liverpool game, and make sure he has a chair he can hang his arm off of
Depends what "2nd in the league" looks like.

We are better than Arsenal
Drop Arsenal, we got HAvertz so we will not even got Top 5. Liverpool is 2nd best by default, thst's how shit this league is.
Bro I'm an Arsenal but we aren't competing for shit and that's me being 100% honest it's always been you and City
I’d put Liverpool over Arsenal. City are the best team in the world so it’ll be tough but you never know really.
Szobo is great! Some matches we will need Endo. He was great against Leicester. I want to see how Liverpool does against Brighton and Spurs however the fan in me says we will beat both of them. It wont be pretty especially Brighton but we will be clinical
Gotta say Ade spoke so much sense here. I’m very impressed with his assessment.
Ade has great takes. I would have liked to hear his opinion on Quansah.
You'll settle for that instead of the (admittedly slim) chance of getting the title with 6 games played in the season?
Way too early to say, but squad depth is promising and some of the young players coming through are looking really good
75 points?? Where did Rory get that from? Liverpool finished with around 84 points that season with Suarez.
Whenever we are under the radar, we do good so i'd like to keep it that way.
Think every liverpool fan would agree, no idea how anyone would think xabi as a similarity
Lets see how they do against Spurs and Brighton away in a row.... then we shall see if they are title contenders
Ade was spot on apart from saying he wouldn’t take 2nd and europa, that would be a phenomenal season for us
i think ade is being a bit hyped here , europa leagie winners and second and CL back is decent. humble

I believe we will challenge because i see the confidence growing in the team but at the same time i have PTSD vs City. Already dropping 2 points compared to them is already scary
First time I agree with Rory second and a europa league is a good season
Even getting top 4 is a good season for me, we were so written off last season and the expectations were low.
Really like listening to you two guys
I still think Liverpool haven't addressed their deficiencies from last season. However they have strengthened their strength and the attack is firing again (they had 3rd best attack in the league last season despite major underperformances). I'm not quite ready to say challenge City yet, but for me, they're in the top three conversation alongside Arsenal.
Szobo and McAllister last season combined had more appearance than Hendo, Milner, Ox, Keita and Fabinho
That was our main issue solved, the midfield
One thing about winning the Europa League is it then puts you straight in with a chance of winning another Super Cup, and I'm down for that
ade is so bang on... the engine has some fuel!! that goal yesterday.. jeez fucking belter.. dont care what anyone says Szob is the best signing of the season.
Can’t believe he’s just said fa cup over the europa league. And Mac allister is not 28
2nd Place + the Europa league and the league cup is what I’m predicting for Liverpool this season
We are back and better.. our squad is better than the 2018-2019 season.. wake up
Great video Rory
At the time of writing, Liverpool, for all the comments about their defence have the 2nd best goals against tally in the league, 5, 2 behind man city. Considering who they have played I think some commentators underestimate that the press from attack and midfield is also helping shield the defence and making them more resilient.
Can’t disagree with either of them
Yes we can and we will but I just want us to be the underdogs pliz don't blow this out of proportion and jinx us, let's take it game by game it's too soon to think about
