    I really enjoy your channel. I appreciate that you throw in the educational content, catch and cook, how to, etc, as well as good content on the water catching fish. Looking forward to the new Marathon content. Like it there much more than Key West.

    Lived in Grassy key for a time. Worked at the Boat House in Marathon and Duck Key Marina. Mainly fished all the time...mainly ocean side. Brother in law was Harry Spear the flats guide in the 80s. Caught everything on flats and bridges...then figured out sails off long key bridge by the structure that was dump from bridges. Moved to Texas and fresh water fishing is not the same. I could go to the keys today and catch anything.

    I just came from the keys on the weekend before the hurricane. I went to scout for possible residency, While 99% of people were welcoming I did get a few that said I was welcome but I cant stay...LOL True story.
    We say the same thing in Texas for people from California.

    Coming down to key colony this Sunday, maybe catch at the fisheries if you stop by. From what you said, you only live down the road feom tye condo. Always love the information you provide. Mrs and I wont be kayaking but sure hope to get some mangroves and yellowtail. Maybe a tarpon or blacktip to spice things up. Enjoy and good luck my friend

    Anyone who's ever moved to a new area after a long time in a particular place can attest to the fact that the local knowledge you gained over the years doesn't do much for your success in a new place especially if you're going to a totally different environment, say fresh water to salt water or mountain creeks to man made lakes. I moved half way around the world from North Carolina and I've spent many depressing days trying to figure out how to fish all over again. If you can't afford a guide at least find a good seafood market LoL

    Best way to catch fish fast in a new area is talk the tackle shops AND the people who already regularly fish that area.

    There is a bridge on sadowski that is good for smaller fish. Snappers, grunts and some other stuff. We caught a ton there about a month ago.

    I’ve got a really interesting question .. where do you think fish like tarpon, snook redfish would be if humans never built bridges, jetties, houses, canals. Just a random thought. My guess would be natural reefs and flats & beaches. Off to think about

  • @jeffknowles3952
    @jeffknowles3952 4 роки тому +1

    Why don't you guide. You diffantly seam to be out there enough.
    Thing to add is wind direction which will determine water temperature. Fishing around new and full moons will always produce more current and most likely more fish. Another note that ive discovered on the water is fish like stable conditions. Three days high pressure or 3 of low pressure. If the next day after 2 or 3 of the same can produce good result.

    • @francus7227
      @francus7227 Рік тому

      No.... Do you need to know why? Let's start with..... You have to have you AND your boat at the same ramp, at the same time, as the guide is departing. Since the chances of a you meeting that monumental requirement are zero, all the other reasons are moot.... huh?

      Rv rental... Good luck on that right now....And of you have to ask this question no you won't be safe. Better stay in your bubble. Stay safe and not trying to be a troll but cmon lmao.

      @@aliash8599 live your life. You have a 99.7% chance of living if you get covid. I like those odds. Be smart. Don't touch handrails then suck your fingers lol. Wash your hands. Keys are a great place to visit and you will be safe. The locals need the business. Go for it. Rv rentals I heard are on like 3 month waiting lists all around the country but bet you can find something if you keep searching. Stay safe 👍🇺🇸

  • @javman6168
    @javman6168 4 роки тому

    Let’s be honest, expecting the “similar” results to verify your fishing down to the hour over the course of an entire year is absolutely impossible. Migration patterns change, weather changes, tides change, and those are only the big ones. You can gain an excellent foundation of your fishery by fishing all times of day, tides, and water temps. You don’t need 3000hrs and not even that amount of time will give you the ability to know where a species will be on a specific day at a specific time.

    Don't go to Tampa Bay over the last 20 years it has become a madhouse it don't matter what day of the week it is packed I'm in a kayak so the boaters do not respect your privacy and they will literally pull up so close to you and say they're sorry can I offer you a beer or bait and toss it to you that's how close they are. I'm the same way I will fish anywhere there is nobody else and I have to keep my ride in the water so nobody sees my rod bending or they will flock to you like vultures and you will not have a spot no more
