20 June 2024 - Loved this episode, especially the way the characters spoke. Very noire. Good story. Listening from the Beautiful Bluegrass, Central Kentucky, USA.

Weird, now, to hear O.J.'s name without murder somewhere in the same sentence

Mr David Von pein sir I'm afraid Mr E G Marshall had got it wrong, all those years ago because the English Phrase that he used at the time of making this episode. Should be spitting image not spit and image, I'm amazed that for nearly fifty years no one noticed. However it was a great episode keep them coming 👍

Sorry, but you're wrong on this. You surely don't think E.G. Marshall just invented his "Spit and image" explanation from whole cloth, do you? Of course he didn't. Just as E.G. says, the term "Spitting image" derives originally from the phrase "Spit and image". (See link.) en.wiktionary.org/wiki/spitting_image

@@DVPOldTimeRadio well I stand corrected there is another version of the same meaning, and I in my mid seventies have never heard of that version in my life. It's always been spitting image that's what I was taught and it was always used here in England. They even named an adult puppet show from that phrase. Thank you
