It’s definitely unique feature on underfolder AK and could be one of the selling points to a lot of buyers since you don’t see underfolders with side scope mount. Zastava did develop scope mount specific to this rifle and should start selling it soon but from what I seen it appears to be more directed towards smaller red dots then full size scope. The way it sits on the rifle it seems that rear sight might prevent you from mounting scope. That’s just my observation from the video I seen.
My side mounted rail, removed and replaced on my Zastava is always on Bullseye on target. Also US PALM STAINLESS STEEL LATCH CAGE MAGAZINES. Are what I use, Excellent mags, very stout, NO wobble.
Got mine last week…fantastic rifle. Waited a year for it after it was announced at 2023 Shot Show. It is interesting your pistol grip is a Magpul. Mine came with a Tango Down (BG-AK Battlegrip) rather than Magpul. The Atlantic Firearms photos show the Magpul and Classic Firearms shows the Tango Down. Wonder why there are two variants? Maybe supply chain issues. The wood hand guard is US made for 922r.
Thank you for the info on hand guard, I was wondering if it was new production or was it old Yugoslav surplus. That’s what I am thinking about pistol grips, whatever they had available at the time to install. I do wish that they would have made these with original M70 grips.
I'm getting one. The only thing I'll change is the grip (I want a real Serb one) and of course Serb mags. I like the battle worn look. Eye of the beholder.
I have 5 different full stock ZPAP M70's that I purchased at Atlantic Firearms over the last 3 years. They are gorgeous rifles and shoot GREAT - smooth action and accurate. I received my ZPAP M70 under folder on January 17th and after unboxing at my FFL we reboxed it and SENT IT BACK TO ATLANTIC!!! I did not realize the stock was "battle worn" and was expecting the usual beautiful wood that was on my other ZPAP's. I was shocked to see what Zastava did to the brand new wood - marked up, carved, and gouged!!! It looked like crap! I realize that beauty is subjective, but this was ugly and, in my opinion, a really bad idea. I wasn't going to spend $$$ on new furniture after paying $1,250. THANK YOU TO ATLANTIC FIREARMS WHO MADE IT RIGHT BY MAKING A FULL REFUND ON MY PURCHASE PRICE AND SHIPPING CHARGES!!! I will continue doing business with them in the future.
Friend of mine just got his and first thing he did was change the furniture, he didn’t like battle worn look neither. Luckily for him, he already had additional furniture so he didn’t have to spend any additional money. I completely understand your point, battle work is not for everyone’s taste. A lot of people don’t want to spend that much money on the new rifle that looks used. Hopefully Zastava will start selling them in different configurations where customers can choose what look they want. They do it with full stock rifles, with many different stock options, so hopefully they will do it with underfolders as well. The prices of AK sure have been creeping up, at a lot faster rate than other rifles. Not that long ago decent AK was half the price of medium grade AR but these days most AK’s cost more than medium grade AR.
@@balkanshed absolutely! Im not one of these zastava guys that think psa is total trash. This build I received “can’t speak for anyone else’s” is very well put together and runs great. I got the plum gloss wood and I’m happy I did 🇺🇸
You can search for Ranko's videos, guy from zastava USA, about these guns. They are imported as single stack magazines and then cut in USA. Also about 'old' furniture, it's done intentionally for underfolder series ( Ranko said that only random letters and marks, no names as you can find in real surplus, used-in-war stuff), but I like it :) I think you also have bayonet lug in that version as a new thing. All of these stuff were missing due this shitty compliance, and I guess that's the reason you get P-mag, cuz magazine counts as 2-3 parts that should meet compliance criteria (too much work w/o any benefits I guess). Nice video man. Greetings from Kragujevac, home town of Zastava (ex Knezev Arsenal / ex Topolivnica, Zastava is communist name that is kept just because brand was already established). Fun fact, every year we have music festival (Arsenal fest) in old part of the factory.

You guessed it spot on! I was born and raised in Bosnia but spend majority of my adult life in American South. According to Zastava at the shot show, optic mount for these new underfolders should be coming out soon.
Good video! I got one of these as well. How is your magazine fitment? Mine doesn't like the Serbian magazines at all-- while it does ok with other AK mags (Bulgarian polymer, Romanian steel types).
Serbian mags fit and lock up fine, but Bulgarian brown mags would not lock up. I hadn’t tried any of the metal surplus magazines yet. I wish they would make them all within same specs so I wouldn’t have to worry about finding specific magazines for each rifle. My Zastava M70 ZPAP with full stock will take any magazine without issues.
@@balkanshed Same. My ZPAP M70's will take any AK magazines. I feel like they might have rushed these underfolders through the 922 conversion process-- leading to magazine fitment issues.
I have NPAP underfolder . Serbian and Polish steel magazines fit perfectly, , Croatian bolt hold open had to undergo some serious filing. South Korean is cheap garbage. Miscellaneous plastic ones fit perfectly. Also all I ever shot was Russian steel case , not a single brass case round. Zero issues
