Fun fact 2. The reason why fog lights are placed on the lower part of your bumper is because fog forms a few feet off the ground. That way, fog lights can illuminate under the fog and reach further.
If you’re thinking of buying heres some notes! I purchased these exact fog lights and rear reverse lights. Some things to note! 1) When the car is turned off and you walk out and shut the door both fogs and drl are on… however the headlight drl is dim, the fogs however are very bright. 2) Unless you coded the system to allow high beams with fogs the fogs will turn off when hitting the high beams. Annnnd the lights recognize it as an on/off… so they switch between modes. If you flash someone with fogs on (like tap tap tap, 3 flashes) it will cycle through three modes. Finally 3) they glitch, sometimes one side will lag a bit to turn on and sometimes it’ll somehow switch to the strobe mode for no reason. Not sure if it’s only mine but once in a while I’ll shut the car off and exit, instead of the fogs simply turning on as they should one will somehow swap to strobe mode? Kinda weird but doesn’t happen too often. I still highly recommend. Especially the rear reverse lights. Very simple to install and they look so much cleaner when reversing. In terms of fogs, pretty cool, I think it’s a good buy especially from this company. Quality is nice.
What a difference some lights can make. Especially all the old interior lights. Getting that crisp white led great. I'm stunned VW/Audi makes a car where you dont need to take off the bumper to get to the fog lights hahaha
Hey dude , you can get to the fog lights by taking one screw out in the fender well , In front of the tire, pull the splash guard back.. Then you can access the back of the fogs. I like that way better cause I had a hard time putting the grille back. Either way works Cool video. I'll be ordering the fogs for my sq. I have white led fogs now .. It's cool though .like the strobe light .

Can you explain that code that your car gave you again? I have switchbacks for my turn signals and I needed resistors to prevent the hyperflash. I've a B8.5 S5. I want to order these on the DeAutoLED but the order form is asking if I need resistors for +$15? Your video mentions resistors is for strobe function? So no need for resistors if I opt out of strobe function?
I will be ordering these for my B8 S4 from DeAutoLED as well. I'm curious if these fog lights require a conversion kit in order to operate properly. I see in your video you asked for something called a "Resister" so that error codes were not thrown when in the strobe feature. Did the Resister cost extra and if so how much more?
They're $15 more. I just purchased from DeAuto and that was one of the options. There other option you can choose is to buy the fog lights with strobe or no strobe.

Might be better looking but illegal and yellow light transmits better through fog, than white. Those fog lights weren't originally coincidentally yellowish in color.
I guess? It depends on how you view it. If you’re looking for the functionality of switching colors, I think it’s a fair price. If you’re just looking for cheap strobes I’d imagine you could custom fab something cheaper?

Got a quick question, the bumper tail light housing has other bulbs in there along with the reverse light, I figured out the inner ones are rear fog lights, but the 2 outer ones I just couldn't figure out how to use them, what are they for?
open your trunk with the lights on - your taillights go up with the trunk so the outer parking lights in those reflectors turn on. It's a gov't mandate that we have some sort of lighting at the back of the car at night when the car is on (usually the brake lights serve this purpose), but if your trunk is open and the brake lights aren't visible, those lights kick on.
What happens if your car has Cornering Fogs? Meaning they switch on when you go round a low speed turn or bend? will they be constantly flipping colour everytime?
They only flip color if they turn on and off within 2 seconds. So it’s pretty rare. I’ll occasionally park with one yellow and one white, but it’s rare.
Do these resistors not get hot like traditional ones? Just curious as you were going to 3M them to the bumper. I made the mistake when I installed the deAuto key fog light kit on my mk6 GTI and zip ties them up out of the way. Well they melted the zip ties and fell against my fender liner and melted through. Rookie mistake :-(.

I'm between the 2018 a4, updated mmi and virtual cockpit, and 16/17 sq5 with the old interior/infotainment. What's your opinion on the mk1 sq5 interior for a long term daily driver? It's hard to understand the advantage of the nicer, newer tech in the Audi and other cars of today.

This is not even close. The 3.0T in the SQ5 trumps any new tech in a 2018 A4. The SQ5 will be way more fun to drive and has way more usable storage/carrying ability. If you like to modify cars then you must immediately delete this post and buy the B8.5 SQ5 !

you don't need OBDeleven, set your headlight switch to parking lights mode and then turn your fogs on!
