  • The story of well-known historian and researcher of Deccan Late Shaikh Chand. He was born on 10th April 1906 in Paithan, District Aurangabad.
    He did his education at Osmania College Aurangabad, at that time Baba-e-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq was the principal of that college. Later he did his Ph.D. from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
    During his college days, he did research on Malik Ambar and published the book in 1931. His book is one of the trustful sources among historians. Apart from Malik Ambar he also worked on Sant Eknath of Paithan,
    Nizam Asaf Jah I and Shayar Sauda. Apart from this Shaikh Chand also contributed to Molvi Abdul Haq's 'Chand Hum-Asr' and 'The Standard English Urdu Dictionary' in the field of Urdu language.
    In December 1936, at the age of 31, Shaikh Chand died in the Mission Hospital of Jalna, Maharashtra.
