"Summertime" by George Gershwin/Piano Cover by Mark West

This is my take on Gershwin's classic song "Summertime". Written in 1934 for his musical "Porgy and Bess", this song has become one of Gershwin's most famous songs. Originaly written with the intent of recreating an African spiritual style, the melody and chords give way so easily to the feeling and sometimes discomford of a hot, hot Summer day.
