What was your calcium carbonate source? It is difficult to tell in the video how refined the CaCO3 is? I know many people use eggshells and crush them but the product can end up granulated without the use of a ball mill. Or did you dissolve them in HCl and and use Na2CO3? Or did you just buy it? lol.
I used champagne chalk, I got it from a art and restoration shop in germany. It is very fine, size 20 μm (if I read it correctly). I also got Chalk de Bologna, It's a mixure of calcium sulphate and carbonate (50 - 60 µm). I got 1kg = 2 pound bags of each. I didn't know you can take eggshells and dissolve it with hydrochloric acid. That's cool!
@@Baerenson If you are ever looking for an alternative source of calcium sulfate, the typical drywall hung in your home is a calcium sulfate dihydrate. It will however require a little bit of refining to clean up the calcium sulfate. Seashells are predominately calcium carbonate as well.
Interesting question! I made a quick research and found out that billiard and snooker chalk is mainly made of silica dioxide (90%). Its property is that it sticks pretty well. I dont know how well calcium carbonate performs in that regards when there is impact on it. Cant say how much will fly off the cue.

If you take acohol instead of water, it would work aswell. Drying time should be much faster
You can buy a box of 4-5 colored sidewalk chalk for $1 and you don't have to wait for the water to piss-off

It took weeks. But I made them, when the humidity was very high. It was very moisty. Drying time is much higher in that circumstance.
