just watched The Mist for the first time --- blew my mind that the theme of other dimensions and oversized arachnids was around in the 90's and the 2000's
A lot of these movie ideas come from ideas or thoughts that have been around for centuries. To take it a step further, do some research on how almost all directors, producers, music, execs, etc. are apart of various secret groups and study a lot of occult info that’s been around for centuries. A lot of what you see and hear today is put in front of you for a reason.

Yo y'all need to check this story telling game called House of ashes by Dark anthology. The plot of it takes place during the Iraq war and I cant remember exactly where. But in the epilogue it way back in ancient Egypt times and this tribe is preparing for a eclipse and "creatures" started coming from the sky and under the pyramid they were in.... Fast forward to the present they're in Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction and end up falling under ground into the old temple from the beginning of the game and go deeper and deeper inside the earth. Basically they end up discovering and fighting against alien like creatures that are deep with in the earth that they found out have been hear and crash landed and actually cause the dinosaur extinction and they communicated thru sounds and frequencies
It's alot to read but look up video explaining it that story almost seem to real to just be a video game strip like some hidden in plain site stuff
