    What's the difference between bi-wiring and bi-amping? Is it the metal piece that is attach to the speaker's binding post?

    • @Techscrews
      @Techscrews  8 років тому

      +morenito116 Bi-wiring use one amplifier and bi-wire cable, but bi-amping use two amplifier with pre-amplifier and bi-amp cables.

    When ordering banana clips to do this project, how do I know if they will be wide enough to house two wires together on the receiver-end? You used Nakamichi. Is that what you recommend? What size or dimensions or specs should I look for? Thank you.

    • @Techscrews
      @Techscrews  8 років тому

      +David Andrews If you solder wire in banana plugs, you can use any plugs for 2x1.5kvmm cable, if you use screw for fixing cable, then it plugs is too small.

  • @alexhardiman8582
    @alexhardiman8582 8 років тому

    you didn't show the end for the amp, as at 3.11
    Do you just twist the 2 cables together to create one end, then fix into the end caps, then fix to the plugs?

    • @Techscrews
      @Techscrews  8 років тому

      you are absolutely right - I just twist the 2 cables together to create one end with banana plug, typical bi-wire cable.

      ...and by doing that you get lower gauge. Two 15 awg cables will have 12 awg... and so on. Each time you double the cable the gauge will drop 3 gauges.

    Where can I buy metal tubing? Also, I have a Denon receiver 1155 watts. I just got Klipsch floor speaker with dual binding post. Can I use your method to bi-wire the speakers to the receiver?

    • @Techscrews
      @Techscrews  8 років тому

      +morenito116 metal tubing I get from local DIY shop, for your setup you can use bi-wire, but if your Denon support bi-amping, better use bi-amping mode for speakers, it more better then bi-wire.

    l bet this looks pretty, but all of that wire probably more resistant since you have made it shorter. so this wire would be more electrically resistant compared to a regular wire. it's not a big deal since it looks like you are running it in a shorter distance than 100 feet.

    What's the purpose of twisting them?

    • @Techscrews
      @Techscrews  6 років тому +4

      two conductors of a single system are twisted together for the purposes of canceling out electromagnetic interference from external sources.

    • @audunjemtland8287

      Where do you source the cable? Is it "regular" copper or treated in some way. Also Does it get some sound characteristics?

    thanks.

    • @Techscrews

    That is sooo NOT BRAIDED!!! That is what you call TWISTED PAIR, which is achieved by TWISTING them in a drill. The definition of braided wire is wire that intersects at 90° angles, not wire that goes around itself over and over.
    That does NOT give the inductance and crosstalk properties of braided wire. It would be the same as....wait for it... TWISTED PAIR WIRE!!!!! Put 8 pairs together and you have the worlds most expensive twisted pair Ethernet cable!! 😂😂😂

      +Hrostbjergsorensen if you use nude cable from coils, you get bad quality from cable. If you this cable upgrade with plugs, you get better contact with lower contact resistance jump. If you this cable Twist, you get better canceling out electromagnetic interference. Also from standard 2 wire cable you get bi-wire cable for better sound performance result.

      @@Techscrews technically bi-wiring will provide zero benefit. There is no point taking two cables off of the same amplifier output let's say right channel. You are still sending approx 20hz to 20khz up both cables for the same channel (R). All it does is directly feed into the low and high pass section of the crossover inside the speaker, where it still does the same filtering as a single cable feeding a channel (R). You just end up spending double your money on speaker cable for a two way speaker. Your cables look really nice, great job 👍
