- This is a documentary completed by an Eritrean film crew. It highlights a fog water project in the mountains of Eritrea. Drinking water is being provided to a village by extracting the moisture from mountain fog.
Lovely video, thank you!
55 years ago I discovered that a plastic table cloth hung over a line and funnelled into a container collected 1 litre of water over night. most condensation occurs on hot days followed by cold nights. You could crochet these blankets from nylon string pretty fast, because you have large spaces between the threads.
Everything that's old is new again. :)
This video needs millions of viewers. Thanks for opening my eyes.
too bad you Tube does not have a translation to English and other launguages so people can put up a video like this in their language and we can watch it in ours
Some STRIVE to make miracles out of clouds, while the WORLD wonders how and why?
ERITREA, the land of miracles, keeps striving to touch the sky.
How about sending a balloon cup into the clouds to collect water?
Even some rural areas in developed countries could benefit from this technology.Off-grid homesteaders could use it too.
Water from a fog collection system needs to be tested and managed as any conventional water source would be.
Das Testen sollte das kleinere Problem sein wenn man bedenkt wie viele Menschen von verseuchten Wasser leben müssen
Brilliant!
Mer dafon einrichten wo immer es nur geht
Maybe increasing more mesh one near each other will collect more. Thanks.

I am proud to be your blood OH! IImSo Blesss to read your Comments.
We have to do all that for water, meanwhile some countries have more thank enough rain, but they are hungry.
Location, location, location.
Ja verwalten und aus allem ein Gewinn machen
Die Not der Armen Menschen ausnutzen
Does anyone know how this water collection system is doing today? Is it still in use?
in times off need people turn to basic animal instincts or ilusional metafisical idealisms, one day, they might learn to be just normal humans.
If you use the water for plants, the plants will catch in time water too and then you dont need nets. It gives a better climate. So use a part of the water for plants, trees, food etc.
No - fog collection won't remove enough fog to make any difference. The system is designed to extract water only.
Who wants to get rid of fog anyways?
Just watched the video. Very interesting and doable project. Hope to get involved at some point in the near future.
Wow! This is brilliant!
People this mesh can be buy at home depot....very cheap....is just a fabric for trellises...i will try myself...good luck 😎 !!!!!
I love DIY sustainable / low tech stuff
Eritea is a country in northeast Africa
thanks for this
I hope this will popularized. The idea is ingenious.
Excellent, very promising project.
how exactly would a normal person get there hands on this material to extract water
if a person wanted to get off the grid this would be perfect system to get your drinking water
Video says triangle shaped plastic mesh. With little investment in time and money maby one can make it.
it would need to be purified correct?
one question: does this collection system also help removing fog?
Why the hell would u wanna do that?
Genius
A commendable effort, but pointless if Ethiopia doesn't have a birth control program.
Lucky for them it's in Eritrea and not Ethiopia! 😉😉😕😕😭😭😭
