This is exactly what I needed. Having trouble with putting fabric on the spine. Thank you for sharing and your correct, there are new people like myself that would love to see this kind of. ‘Basic’ tutorial. Thank. You. Dee
I'm so glad this helped, Dee! I am putting together a series for beginners and I might do it live so people can ask questions. Thanks for watching!
@@cysambrano I put fabric on the spine and when it opens and closes.. it has a large wrinkle at the spine and book ‘crack’. Maybe I didn’t leave a large enough gap ? Thank you again. Dee
@@thepaperdrawer4651 Make sure the entire piece of fabric has adhesive; and also put the fabric on with the book open only. Could that be it?
@@thepaperdrawer4651 Also, feel free to post a picture and question on my FB page so I can see it and answer your question better.
@@TheScrapologist I used glue… which I now see is part of my problem.. the other thing I noticed because I have watched this video many, many times.. I am not leaving enough space between the spine and the cover.. my gap is way too small.. and I try to push the fabric in the space.. so I have made 2 with your help and I am happy with them.. AND on 1.. I did not put enough adhesive on.. but it looks ok….
Thank you so much for helping me… I really appreciate it…. Dee
I’ve bought that exact fabric more than once because I adore it. 😊💕 I love making covers.
I love it too, June... I bought yards of it in case they discontinue it :)

Sorry - the first few seconds are blurry for some reason! I promise it gets better! :)
New subbie here. You got me when you showed your burn scars and then your laugh. Made me feel at home. And tape? Yes? Tape? I never taped fabric to a cover in my life. But I'm sure going to give it a go now. Thanks for the fun with the crafting.
Thank you, Marlene! Your comments are very sweet. Yes, tape! You will learn through my videos how much glue hates me, ha ha.
What an informative video..thank you so much!! New sub..happy to find you!
I'm so glad you found it helpful, Nancy! Thanks for subscribing :)
Would I put this on the spine the same way on an album that already has pages in it?
Hi, Nikki! You CAN put it on a book that already has pages in it; however, you won't be able to fold it over the top and bottom. Make sense?
It’s funny... I love making blank albums but decorating the pages are more of a “chore” for me... I have so many beautiful papers, however, and do love how an album looks once it’s completely done!
Yes, I think we all have a favorite part and one that is not as fun. If you don't like decorating pages, I suggest you look at a flip-through and try to copy it (if it's for your own use). Then it can be fun because you don't have to do all the thinking :)
Where do you get the paisley faux leather?
Hi, Nikki. I think I've seen it at Walmart...
Thank you! Like you said, paper cracks so I'm looking for other options. I appreciate your reply!
@@nikkirogers5284 Yes, I never cover my spines in paper. It just doesn't last.
