  • Celestron StarSense (SkyProdigy),
    This was the first attempt with a quick align on the telescope, all i can say this works perfect!! next time when there is more visible n the sky then I will pay more attention to show how accurate it is.

    my starsense was not working correctly, unable to reflash the unit...the celestron people helped me to get a replacement and now it is working fine with my samsung s3 mini and my fire tablet...great job Celestron...thx

    Thx for the video, taking us through the actual manual I think was a good idea, I think it would work for me in Manual mode as my skies are blocked to the west by my house and I also have many 100ft trees around me.
    I can see why people would buy and use this, but its not for me as it would only save a few mins time over my normal 2-Star-Align (+2 extra) process, which already puts objects in my CFOV just fine for me.
    Thx Paul

    Hey Bos, I bet the new star sense controller took longer to hook up than you thought it would. Question, do you think you may need to get a counter weight for the scope and mount?

    It's been almost a year, is the StarSense meeting all your AP needs?
    Was it worth the money, in time saved and AP results? It's $330 these days..

      Hi Richard, on my new channel you will see the update Celestron Starsense Technology, I must say i had only 2 times to setup the celestron nexstar clouds wind fog etc... it's a poor year for telescopes haha.
      The starsense is good but it must complete dark outside so he can take the images from the sky.
      Is it worth the money, yes and no its still a lot of money... but its more accurate than the normal star align for so far i could test it.

    Excellent video, I like the part where you go over the installation & alignment instructions.This alone helps me to decide if it is a worthy purchase.
    I shall probably watch this a few time b4 I decide to buy the StarSense for my 8SE/Evolution

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 8 років тому

      Thanks!! Robert Cole,Thats a nice telescope Evolution!! The alignment is a bit better with the starsense but still keep in mind when there is to much light in the erea it wont work good, it must be dark.

    take care , it is advertising, my starsense never work !!! and never shows "alignment complete " I do my alignment quicker than to try to use starsense, learn star position it is cheaper !

      @matthewknight1999 7 років тому

      JPB B true on the part of learn to star align on your own part $400 for this thing ? I mean if it was like $200 I might buy it but idk I think it's easier to use skyalign I mean the pictures and videos show near the end how it doesn't stay centered my biggest issue with the SE series is I do my alignment and it's easy to lose the alignment switching my eyepiece for a camera.

    Hi mate, quick question. Once you have aligned the scope with this does it automaticly track (stay aligned) so you can do long exposures?

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 8 років тому

      Hi m8, long exposures are not posible with this AZ mount you will need a EQ mount for it.
      but the starsense works good, only when there is to much light from houses or full moon than its crap.

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 8 років тому

      Hi Eugene, how it works with a VX mount I don't know. there is a guy on youtube with a EQ mount with the starsence device, perhaps you can better ask him. on my telescope it works very good.

    Hello! I bought the Starsense AutoAlign, as I own a telescope LCM 114 and now I have a problem, I do not know where it should be housed Starsense. there are no existing holes suitable for fixing. you can give me some advice? Thank you.

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 9 років тому

      Hi Gianlugi ,The LCM 114 telescope is for me uncharted territory.. so far i know the lcm has a not removable viewfinder.

    • @gianlugipennacchi8363
      @gianlugipennacchi8363 9 років тому

      +BOSB33R 2014 Hello! first of all I want to thank you for having responded to me!
      yes, indeed LCM114 has pointer partially integrated with the cap that protects the telescope tube, but doing a little work of destruction could completely remove it ... but in my ignorance on the telescopes, I'm wondering ... is there a preset position to mount the StarSense AutoAlign? I am making this change would go to place it at the end of the tube .... excuse me if I went disorder I wish you a happy day!

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 9 років тому

      Hi Gianlugi My choice would be the front of the telescope because he need to take pictures from the sky.If I were you I would buy velcro and strap it with the starsense around the telescope house? an idea ;0)

    Quick question where did you get the screws to screw down the large bracket?
    Mine didn't come with any and I was trying to use screws i took of the rail attached to the finderscope but they seem too short.

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 10 років тому

      Ohw.. Mine old screws did reach the tube.

      @cirrusclouds8295 10 років тому

      BOSB33R 2014 Hi, at 1:56, there are 2 holes for the screws but it seems you only use 1 screw to hold down the large bracket. Is it because there is only 1 hole on the bracket that aligns with the holes in the tube? Does it affect the stability?

    • @bosb33r40
      @bosb33r40 10 років тому

      Cirrus Clouds
      No i used both screws it only to make the video shorter.
