As for why HMRC has a social media presence, it so they can inform people about changes, like the intoduction of High Income Child Benefit repayment, changes in self assessment criteria, or closing the phone lines down or informing people of the drive to get people to use the online services because Sunak is too busy spending the money on helicopter rides instead of advertising to inform the public of pretty important changes.

When you look at the way taxation is being abused in this Country now you can see two things: 1) that there has been such a colossal leakage on money that if you were to run a company in the same way you'd be done for wrongful trading 2) that the amount of people contributing is falling faster and faster. As in any socialist utopia, it is left to fewer and fewer people to pay for everything. The economy is in far, far worse condition than most people really seem to understand and it's getting worse.

I remember the really early series of Bullseye and it wasn't unheard of for the winning couple to get through and win with £20 or £30 in prize money, the prizes were unironically worth winning more than the cash.
They later changed the format on the cash prize part of the show but the prize board items remained as the same cheap tat.
People always slate the show for the terrible prizes but the truth is if the production company wanted to have bigger cash prizes and more expensive prize board prizes they would have had to scrap the star prize gamble at the end of the show.
Government rules at the time tightly restricted the amount quiz shows could offer in cash and prizes to £6k per show so they would spend the bulk of it on the star prize.

Here in Victoria, Australia, I live in a small country town so I pay $300 a year, (approx. 150 pounds), in registration, (road tax). This is for my 3.0 ltr V6 Nissan utility. This is the pensioner discount fee. The roads where I live are definitely in no worse condition than the roads in the UK.
The registration also covers me for personal and third party injury insurance, which is the minimum level of car insurance required in Victoria. I do also have non-compulsory fully comprehensive insurance, ($450 per annum with roadside assist. This is about 225 pounds) .
So my total cost per year for road tax and fully comprehensive insurance with roadside assist is $750 per year, (about 375 quid).
I doubt that, as an aged pensioner, I would be able to afford the road tax and fully comprehensive car insurance for my vehicle in the UK.
All you motorists in the UK are all being ripped off big time by your government and insurance companies.

We live in rip off Britain. I live in Scotland and roads in the "central belt" are in a terrible state. My home town spent millions on building cycle lanes which meant road closures until the job was done. I've seen one cyclist on them. What angers me is that some cyclists are still cycling on the main road next to the cycle lanes. I gave up my car to rely on public transport. But since 2020 ther has been cancellations, breakdowns and route removal. I've followed your videos about the tv licence. Paying for the utter shit on that service.

I thought all prize money is non taxable. In any case £83k out of £200k seems very high and anomalous. He could appeal.
Assuming HMRC can't get any of it at source, as technically a minor he could ask the payer to pay it into his parent's account. Then as far as HMRC are concerned he never got anything. At 18 he can ask for it from his parents. As far as HMRC are concerned it's then a 'gift'. His parents could keep a couple of grand as a thank-you. As 45% tax is immoral I don't consider it any kind of "fidel".
James Cleverly can host Bullseye. Top prize will be indefinite leave to remain in U.K. They can broadcast it in France. I can hear the catch phrase already "one migrant is going to be very lucky tonight".
Steve Coogan could host it. Either as Alan Partridge or as himself I would watch it.
