I like the fact that although your jacket is fitted, you could absolutely pull off CCW with it, and with those unrestricted sleeves, actually protect yourself.
What you’re trying to describe about the buttons on the sleeve is known as surgeons cuffs, today suits with functional buttons on the sleeve is likely high end or bespoke
It's a personal thing of course but DB sport coats is a bit of contradiction in terms. DB in odd jackets is probably best restricted to blazers with or without brass buttons. The undone button cuff is pure vanity but hey we're all allowed a bit of that.
I enjoyed the informative video. I have a question. I'm curious about the length of the jacket you wore. I bought a sports coat this time and it was 76.5cm length . I am about 174.5cm tall, so please let me know if the figures are appropriate. Thank you.
The beauty of custom clothing is we build your pattern that is precisely for you. Even with these exact measurements, it doesn't take into account your posture, which heavily affects how a sport coat will fit, along with other factors that typically go unnoticed. I would need to do a virtual consultation to be able to give you a better answer/ opinion.
Good morning and congratulations on your big dance coming up. I would suggest more of a navy or even a royal blue dress pant to go along with the grey coat. The color will compliment not only the sport coat better but also compliment your date's dress better as well. Have a great time.
Hello sir, the first sport coat you mentioned about how it fits around the neck. What color is this sport coat? The brand of the sport coat. Thank you.
While talking about improper fit of that first coat your collar is at least an inch off your neck. Is it not just something that’s unavoidable? I’m sure your coats are made to fit correctly and there’s that gap.
Yes - when it's too big and leaves space between your neck/ collar and the jacket. Posture greatly affects this, along with the slope of your neck, etc., This is why we make custom clothing for men: Most men have a specific body type that does not allow for the to simply buy off the rack.
When wearing double breasted jackets, I always button both buttons at the front. I think it looks untidy otherwise. Also the only way I’d wear one without it being part of a suit would be as a navy blazer with brass buttons and light tan trousers and never as a sport jacket. I love tweed sports jackets.
A navy blazer also looks great with grey trousers. I'm more adventurous so I sometimes don a brown blazer. Also, a double breasted ivory dinner jacket is a classic for warm weather black tie.
@@larryd473 A double breasted ivory dinner jacket would make me feel like I was James Bond. Well, maybe Brooke Bond (I like my tea stirred, not shaken).😂
A double breasted jacket is NOT for everyone. Depending on your unique style and how you want to wear the jacket to bring out your personality is what is key. Personally for me, I prefer a double breast in specific situations.
But does anyone except a taylor take notice your jacket isn't hugging the back of your neck??? I think not. At 70 I've never yet, not one time, taken any notice of that on anyone.
Thank you for the information. I found the fact about the sleeve buttons interesting and the hug aroun the neck helpful.
Glad you enjoyed - thanks for watching !

Great video, I appreciated it being very informational yet concise. Loved the focus on surgeon's cuff, wonderful bespoke detail
Thank you!

Great video.I usually wear bespoke sportcoats with single button and peak lapels
A peak lapel is a great choice to make the right sport coat pop
Good advice, overlooked points that matter ..

A personal thing - of course! Thank you for watching.
So basically, leave it unbuttoned when sitting and do what you feel like when standing.
Thanks for the info. Looking great, Sir

What is the best fabric for a trouser to pair with a Linen Sport jacket? (To make it a little more dressier)
High twist wools

Hence the saying 'roll your sleeves up'

The title is misleading, was looking more how to pair or style a jacket.

They're jackets not coats, the names are not interchangeable as you seem to think they are.
Sport coat and sport jacket are interchangeable.
@@larryd473 coat and jacket are NOT interchangeable words, at least not in proper English.
Sport coat never button that í why it called sport
👍👍👍
This gentleman has failed to do up a couple of buttons on his shirt.
If you aren’t sitting and your jacket isn’t buttoned you probably should have it off. 😉
This is more of a personal choice for when to wear the jacket un-buttoned vs. taking it off
No double breasted jacket for me tho

I do, the fit of a jacket is very important
A nice coat and pocket square, but you would have looked so much better with a tie.
Dude how about buttoning up that shirt
That’s the correct way of wearing that shirt with a coat without a tie

Your coat is cool, but the gorge is TOO HIGH!
Americans all they wear is shorts, jeans and a T-shirt.
It's a sad reality.
