As someone who’s been doing this for the past 2 years a lot of the wrist pain and other issues can be easily avoidable by simply increasing ur protein count or slowly progressing to a 100. Doing 100 immediately is forcing ur body to adapt when it’s not ready for that adaptation. Plus even if u gain nothing from after 40 days it’s still a great thing to do to clear the mind.
I just started this today, but I did 50 in the morning then 50 at night, just space it out instead of trying to hammer out all 100 in morning. I will see how much it helps I guess
@@PointsOnly that’s not an issue though. Americans already consume 2x amount of protein needed. He has enough protein to repair the muscle. The issue is joint strain there’s only so much protein can do if ur constantly putting pressure and strain on ur joints.
For those that don’t know much about fitness, the “dead zone” where you stop gaining from the exercise is when your body as adapted too much to that specific range of motion from you doing it too often too consistently, you can regularly do the same exercise for usually about two to three maybe four weeks then you’ll start noticing that you’ve “hit a wall” so to speak. What you do when that happens is you simply find another exercise or several other exercises that work the same muscles but in different ways, that keeps your body adapting and growing and constantly having to deal with some form of change occurring which is what causes you to see the results. This doesn’t mean go and do 40 different workouts every time you go to the gym or do a workout session, you do still need to repeat each exercises consistently enough to see results, you just don’t want that exercise to be the ONLY thing you do or else you will reach this point where you’re not really losing anything but you’re not really gaining anything either.
You don't actually need to do different exercises or change. You can still do the same ones, but add more reps or sets. It's called progressive overload.
That's absolutely not true. And "muscle confusion", is a myth, it doesn't work and actually can hurt you and your gains. If your program is really good, you can keep it for month or maybe even years. (Obviously, not when you begin, because you will start simple, and gain endurance that you will use in other exercices) Hundreds of reps are just completely useless. It's basically like walking at this point. It will even maybe make you lose more weight that make you gain muscle. You just need to add a bit more weight every time. It's simple.
I did 50 a day for 8 months. Never missed a day. Ended up with shoulder pains then went back to my 2x a week chest /tri workouts instead and got better results. If you’re going to do it, just do it during your normal chest day. Doing it everyday does nothing but get you injured
I’ve actually been doing 100 push ups everyday for about 5 years now. I’m college female and started off low and built up to 100. Now I do 40 push ups and two sets of five and do that twice every morning. I switched to tricep because I had some pretty extreme pain in my elbows for certain exercises last year, but after the switch, I haven’t had the same problem since.
yea it's really not even enough for a regular program. Many people do the equivalent of 100 push ups on their chest day. I guess bodyweight exercises scare people or it's the number 100 but that volume is pretty normal for someone who works out regularly.
There is a method called Greasing the Groove which is known to improve strength and muscular endurance. The idea is to do half the number of reps you can do in a set, and do this suboptimal set of reps multiple times in a day, often going to near 100. But the point is that it does cause alight increase in muscle strength, but the most important adaptation is that the muscles learn to execute the motion in a more efficient way and get the movement etched in muscle memory. Therefore, at the end of the program (roughly 2 months), a significant number of your reps will come not because of strength or endurance, but because of your muscle memory. It's just like you learn to type/press keys on the console during a game without even looking at it, effortlessly, after lots of practice.
Yes I agree, not currently doing push ups but 13 years ago at age 38 I was doing 5 to 6 sets of 100 before bed every night and felt great. After hitting my goal of 10 sets of 100 in a hour, 1000 push ups I quit doing them for some stupid reason. But I can say at 51 years old I can still drop and do 100 on command. Don't believe these guys who say after 40 days no results. Remember always push yourself 120% I was incredibly strong after 3 to 4 months of this.
@@lelela2211 yes. I started out by setting up a 10min timer and doing 100 push ups 6 times a week, rip out 10, rest for 40 seconds and repeat until you get to a 100. After a week I started doing 120 in 10mins, then 150, then 200 and now I'm at 250. Progressively overload your muscles, eat 160+ grams of protein a day and get enough rest, you'll get absolutely jacked.
truth is... you shouldnt do it every single day.. you should do it every other day, and sometimes give yourself a 2 day gap.. you increase in mass, until your mass equals your strength, in which you only increase in durability
the actual truth is you should do it every hour and end the day off with around 1200 pushups and that's just rookie stats. me? personally, i hang around 5000 pushups every 4 days which isn't too much tbh, i'm just too busy to do more
It's 100 push ups not a total 45-90 mins workout you can do it every day or 6 a week. I've done similar with adding 10-15 per week or doing sets of 100 3x a day/each day and with other calisthenics on top of full body workouts I did prior. If you want the constant pump do everyday it's not going to overload like a full body WO. The stretching benefit was the most beneficial for me. And I saw ZERO neg effects just feel hard as a rock 24/7 .
In prison it helped grow my shoulders and it did helped shape my triceps and I did 300 to 400 push-ups everyday. I really highly recommend it. Also I had a hard time building chest with weights but pushups really helped on the most part.
I did 100 pushups a day for maybe 3 months or so. I also did 50 squats, 50 pikes, and 50 sit-ups. I noticed that although I gained strength and mass, and got more cut, I also hit a glass ceiling. When I switched to every other day, or every few days, I began to grow again. Moral of the story-your body needs time to heal, recover, and grow. Take some days off if you really want to see results. I should also mention I’m naturally fit. Mama and papa gave me good genes…so I had an advantage. Best of luck to all of you!
I did 50 pushups a day for the month of August and ended up with an impingement in my right deltoid area. 5 months, 7 physical therapy sessions and an orthopedic consult later I’m practically no better and now I can’t even throw a football with my kids. It’s heartbreaking. The moral of my story is to start slow and don’t forget shoulder stabilization in your workout routine it’s not just about pushing and pulling, you need internal and external rotation and some other stuff.

If you have good technique you don’t have to worry about hurting yourself. Also, if you can’t do pushups from your toes you can still get a good workout from your knees. When I was in the army this is what I was taught when I first got to basic and used it for a little till I was strong enough to do them from the full front and leaning rest position.

You work your way towards 100. That's how you should do it. You start with 10 and just add 2 more every week. You'll end up at 100 in 10 months and your body wouldn't be broken. I always remember the line from Roseanne: "work smart, Danny, not hard".
@@EzBlitzzzWay too much, especially if you do multiple sets. The difference between 5 sets of 10 and 5 sets of 15 is insane, if you add 2 pushups per set, it's like adding 10 pushups every week, it's more than enough
@@EzBlitzzzyou can add 5-10 a day for a whole month no problems if you’re moderately healthy and aren’t doing any other workouts. A hundred push ups isn’t that many at all throughout a day.

The fact is that you don't have to be stuck on 100 Pushups you will need to increase the intensity or number of pushups with time, after 25-30 days depending person to person you'll be easily able to do 100 pushups in one go your muscles will get used to it so either you'll have to do pushups with weight or increase the number of pushups with time.

@@ineedxelp epic fail
Or increase the number of reps until you reach absurd numbers of reps before you decide to change workout routine.
You don't actually need to do different exercises or change. You can still do the same ones, but add more reps or sets. It's called progressive overload.
So to put it very simply..... Muscle Confusion
@@lil8up607incorrect
That's absolutely not true. And "muscle confusion", is a myth, it doesn't work and actually can hurt you and your gains. If your program is really good, you can keep it for month or maybe even years. (Obviously, not when you begin, because you will start simple, and gain endurance that you will use in other exercices)
Hundreds of reps are just completely useless. It's basically like walking at this point. It will even maybe make you lose more weight that make you gain muscle. You just need to add a bit more weight every time. It's simple.
I do a million push ups at negative 4am everyday before the real day begins.
You get mad shoulder pain that takes years to go away
U must be doing it wrong bro or already have injured ur shoulders before i do like 200 a day imcluding diamond press ups never had a shoulder problem
I do 500 a day no wrist pain or shoulder and im deff bigger i do 4 dif variarions tho
And keep my thumbs up to relieve pressure
I did 50 a day for 8 months. Never missed a day. Ended up with shoulder pains then went back to my 2x a week chest /tri workouts instead and got better results. If you’re going to do it, just do it during your normal chest day. Doing it everyday does nothing but get you injured
That's actually insightful. The only thing I got after 4 months was wrist pain.
Tell that to someone in the Army
Ive done 200 at each 3 d day,now i stopped ,my elbow pain is killing me
@gecko3890 I use pushup bars for my daily pushups and I don't get any writs pain, unlike with normal pushups.
im bald doing that now and my cup of glass randomly breaks when i make it fall
I’ve actually been doing 100 push ups everyday for about 5 years now. I’m college female and started off low and built up to 100. Now I do 40 push ups and two sets of five and do that twice every morning. I switched to tricep because I had some pretty extreme pain in my elbows for certain exercises last year, but after the switch, I haven’t had the same problem since.
yea it's really not even enough for a regular program. Many people do the equivalent of 100 push ups on their chest day. I guess bodyweight exercises scare people or it's the number 100 but that volume is pretty normal for someone who works out regularly.
this could be saitama
@@BM-pt6sy lifting lower intensity for higher reps will give different results than high weight low reps
are you bald and strong now?
College female more like a 304 🤢👍💯
There is a method called Greasing the Groove which is known to improve strength and muscular endurance.
It's just like you learn to type/press keys on the console during a game without even looking at it, effortlessly, after lots of practice.

cant you just increase the amount of pushups?
no, you can however make them harder by adding weight on top of you@@lelela2211
@@lelela2211 yes. I started out by setting up a 10min timer and doing 100 push ups 6 times a week, rip out 10, rest for 40 seconds and repeat until you get to a 100. truth is... you shouldnt do it every single day.. you should do it every other day, and sometimes give yourself a 2 day gap.. you increase in mass, until your mass equals your strength, in which you only increase in durability
Actually, a four to seven day break is optimum.
Only doing a 100. No need to take a break if that's all you doing
the actual truth is you should do it every hour and end the day off with around 1200 pushups and that's just rookie stats. me? personally, i hang around 5000 pushups every 4 days which isn't too much tbh, i'm just too busy to do more
It's 100 push ups not a total 45-90 mins workout you can do it every day or 6 a week.

You work your way towards 100. That's how you should do it. You start with 10 and just add 2 more every week. You'll end up at 100 in 10 months and your body wouldn't be broken. I always remember the line from Roseanne: "work smart, Danny, not hard".
Is it a good idea to add like 5-10 more every week?
@@EzBlitzzzWay too much, especially if you do multiple sets. The difference between 5 sets of 10 and 5 sets of 15 is insane, if you add 2 pushups per set, it's like adding 10 pushups every week, it's more than enough
