I doubt it's the point! The little story was meant to be innocent and very simple. You're not supposed to think about whether Peach has parents because it's like, centered around children, and children don't think about their own parents much
I always thought of this as a kid because mario and wario both have brothers so I was curious with if Peach had a family. That and Matpat’s game theory on who Rosalina’s parents are got me asking big questions XD
I figured she was just labeled as a princess because she has no husband and it was one of those kingdoms that are like “she’s in charge for now, but when she marries, her husband will take reign.” That made me believe it was Bowser’s main motive to steal and marry Princess Peach (although he does seem somewhat infatuated with her)
@@dmm7736 that might be the in-game reason but in reality little kids like princesses more than queens and Princess Peach sounds better than Queen Peach.
When it comes to peach saying “bummer” (6:30) and inheriting that from her mother that’s actually a common Japanese trope. Baby Peach exists but if you go off of games like Yoshi's Island DS or Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time it seems unlikely that the babies are actually the character's children and are their actual baby versions of themselves that time traveled to join in on the Kart racing and baseball games so there's that
@@loganmiller7827 Considering that Peach got kidnapped in Partners in time, they've gotta be crazy to keep bringing those kids to the future back and forth. ...But thinking about that game, Peach had a babysitter that looked a lot like her father figure there, right? I just suddenly remembered the Fancomic where Mario and Peach have twin boys and Luigi and Daisy have a Daughter. Not quite sure why that came into mind when I saw this comment thread.
Now we need to know the parents of Mario, Luigi, Toad, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Rosilina, Toadette, Bowser Jr. and all of the other semi-relevant characters...
We actually see Mario's and Luigi's parents at the end of Yoshi's Island, (SNES) but not clear views of their faces. Bowser's Jr.'s father is obviously Bowser, but we don't know who his mother is/was. Rosalina's mother passed away and is buried under a tree on a hill, as told in the story Rosalina reads to the Lumas, but we don't know who her father is/was.
You do know Peach came from a Stork like Mario and Luigi. However that works, perhaps an order was placed for Peach, but her parents died from unknown reasons her parents died before they were delivered.

The key with Zelda is that they're different Zeldas and thus, different Dads/Kings, but in several Zelda games, there's no mention of a King at all. In Twilight Princess, it's Zelda on the throne, surrendering the Kingdom to Zant. In Spirit Tracks, Zelda sits on the Throne (but has an evil Chancellor bossing her around).
@@carolinian2009 and yet we see a king in Link to the Past, as well as some non-canon sources. I'll name the one I know for certain. I think there was one in OoT. and There's a king in Wind Waker. but I don't know the full history. that's why I said Some.
I always assumed it was Toadsworth and that she was named princess because she was a special Toad that was tall and human-like. That's why Toadsworth gets to be in the palace, but clearly isn't king
I never thought about it that way, but I guess it is possible... Partners in Time shows that the ages line up, and even as a baby no one else is around her at least
If the people of the Mushroom Kingdom were turn into bricks by black magic as stated in the manual...doesn't that mean you spend the entire first game murdering innocent bystanders?
This was well detailed and well explained, but I couldn't help but expect to see that funny classic short video from Dorkly when Peach's father doesn't want her to marry an Italian
I think the more cannon option is that she doesn't have parents, she's an orphan. She never gets to see her parents, and so we don't either. The exist, they have personalities, and now we know what they look like, but she never gets to see them.
In a game called "Mario and Luigi Partners in time" one of the principal characters is the father of the princess Peach, the "king". He calls her his daughter so it's cannon
I have to say, the artist illustrating peach's parents took a lot of inspiration from Aurora's family in Sleeping beauty, I first saw it in the similarity in both Princess Toadstool's crown as well as the queen's, and at 4:46 we can clearly see the same clothes from Aurora on P. Toadstool, as well as the outfits of King Stephen and Queen Leah for the parents ;D
I find it hilarious that obscure and outdated lore is found in the original manuals or the comics. Like the original Hero of Hyrule from the first Zelda game isn’t even Hyrulean, he’s from a place called Calatia and he has actual parents.
My goodness your videos are so interesting and informative. You really do so well with the research, and always present it in an entertaining and intriguing way. That’s it, I’m subbing.
Lol I assumed this was a Princess Celestia (from My Little Pony) situation where the Princess character has no parents and should be queen but prefer to be called Princess/ the creators want the more marketable title of Princess for their main female character.
whos marios parents? whos bowsers parents? whos toads parents? whos Yoshis parents? Whos donkey kongs parents? Does it matter? No. they're fictional game characters but still a good video none the less.
It's not so important in this case other than the title of Princess, implying a King/Queen existing, at least at one point in time, so this kind of topic makes a deal of sense to explore.
I like to think Toadsworth is actually Princess Toadstool's father but was demoted as king due to his repeated stupidity. Or maybe he was banished for some odd reason, but the Princess didn't want her father to wander off to the wild, so she "hired" this senior advisor
You neglected a huuuuuge portion of the lore that was recently introduced! Especially in regards to “Grandma” being blood-related. Toadette turns into Peachette. It’s shown that only the female Toadette can turn into her using the Crown Mushroom. So it’s kind of like a bee hierarchy where the Toads are the worker bees and the females are the Queens. Like bees, Toadette and Peach may share the same genes. Female worker bees have the potential to become Queens depending on their diet. (Just like Toadette). So chances are that Peach was once a Toadette. Thusly, she could certainly be related to Grandma.
King Toadstool is always getting himself kidnapped Princess Toadstool is also getting kidnapped alot Fits However my theory for her mother, Queen Toadstool and why we have so little info on her is this... Queen Toadstool is actually the one doing all the actual ruling of the kingdom while her husband is more or less just a figure of importance well loved by the Mushroom Kingdom, an icon so to say. Queen Toadstool is smart and does all the actual work and is always busy, where as King Toadstool is constantly being the silly ruler that everyone loves. Therefor, Peach is both a well loved figure of the kingdom and a really good ruler, but because of both of these traits always has to deal with Bowser. Bummer.
4:00 How "official" are these guide books? And why are there no actual Toads in the image? I find Peach's design a little weird since this is not even what she looks like in SMB.

I never understood why her parents were never revealed. Same with Daisy.
Daisy? Her castle was never revealed and you expect her parents?
Daisy has a father though. Watch the super mario bros movie.
@@NobaraGamezzz not canon
@@KingGisInDaHouse The movie might not be, but there's a line in Mario Party 3 where Daisy talks about not losing to her father according to the Super Mario Wiki.
www.mariowiki.com/Princess_Daisy
It's in the section talking about her personality. So, for sure, it's at least canon in the Mario Party series that Daisy has a father. Still no word about a mother, though.
Honestly I’d just love to see more of daisy’s character explored in general shes my fav in the whole Mario franchise yet rarely appears in mainline games
Everyone always ask "who's princess peach's parents?" But no one ask "where's princess peach's parents now?"
Or even better How are princess Peach's parents now ?
I always assumed Toadsworth was Peach's father and the King but just kind of retired. Letting Peach rule in place of him and she will become Queen when he passes away.
(Explains why she's Princess Toadstool)
I also assumed this as a kid too.
Finally somebody actually understands. It’s toadsworth
toadsworth is the prime minister of the mushroom kingdom.
Yeah this is gonna be my headcanon from now on, makes the most sense
I think Toadsworth may have died tho since we have not seen him in a platformer since the DS, and haven't seen him at all since Dream Team in 2013, almost 10 years ago
This feels like it would be right at home on Game Theory. I even thought the thumbnail was one of Matpat's videos and did a double-take when I saw the channel name. The only difference is that this is better written than whatever he's been up to these past few years.

5:08 Peach’s dad is the Pringles Man?!?!
Mind blown
I wonder if he sales one of them Pringles as a hobby!
That was a really cool deep dive in more obscure Mario media! Now I want to check out those old japanese guides
With their daughter never having a son,it's no wonder why they almost never show up.
Or daughter!
I can already imagine Mario and Peach getting wheres grand kid envelopes lol.
I don't think he's her biological father since he's a mushroom, but it would be fair enough if he was her adoptive father or something.
I just suddenly remembered the Fancomic where Mario and Peach have twin boys and Luigi and Daisy have a Daughter. Not quite sure why that came into mind when I saw this comment thread.
Even Peach's co-star Zelda have mysterious parents, but nowadays the queen of hyrule is now the most mysterious in there series.
The Grandma character in Mario RPG has the same localization problem as SMB, in the Japanese game her name translates to “maid”
I can't help seeing the similarities of Jasmine's dad in Aladdin. It is a miracle that Peach was born in the first place.... lol!
“bummer!”
I was not expecting the prominence of this word in this video tbh 😅
"She's a princess, not a queen. Surely there are monarchs above her."

There's mama mario from the super show lol
@@chocolixo I know that, but I mean both parents of all of those characters
Let’s be real, in Yoshi’s Island/New Island we see Baby Mario and Baby Luigi delivered to their parents via stork, they’re almost certainly adopted.
fun fact: Wario is actually an orphan according to Yoshi’s Island DS.
4:38 No wonder my mother always called the Koopa Troopas "ducks".
This was an insane Discovery!
That toadsworth is the dad/king
that she has parents? yeah no shit
Plot twist her parents are actually wario and waluigi
Noooooooo!
That would be the best plot twist
Wario's their father. Mario and the Princess turn out to be twins....
4:56 A dark green toad like king? Maybe he created 1-up mushrooms or something?
My psychiatrist: mario lore isn't real, he can't hurt you
mario lore:
You do know Peach came from a Stork like Mario and Luigi. However that works, perhaps an order was placed for Peach, but her parents died from unknown reasons her parents died before they were delivered.

I know it's probably going to be said a fair amount of times, or has probably already even been said, but the coloring book version of the king reminds me of the Pringles logo
7:01 I see where peach got that from lmao
This is sad since the movie came out and just proved him wrong..
How does it? I've seen the movie and it doesn't mention her parents at all.
@@LenoreGhostGirl it explains that peach dosent remember her life as a human and was adopted from the Toads when she was a baby they also mention that they waited until she was ready to become their Princess so technically there is no king or queen
@@ninesalmas That's the point; she doesn't remember them. Maybe she was sent to that world for a reason. There was no particular reason she was crowned Princess, I mean, why her? And why was she given the title of princess and not queen? Maybe the toads knew her parents were king and queen but she isn't ready to know yet.
@@LenoreGhostGirl yes but maybe she is just not ready enough to be the Queen yk? And if they knew the king or the queen they would’ve bring her back to her family don’t you think?
@@ninesalmas Her family is most likely dead, hence the reason they're keeping it from her.
I always felt that we HAD seen the King in either SMB3 or in the live action film. I know we see Zelda's Father a few different ways.
and I thought there was a king in the Mario Anime but that could have been some one else. Nintendo Power also had comics but I suppose he wasn't in those either?
Live action movie but it's daisy's dad
Have you ever heard of Mario sunshine… toadsworth exist you know?
3:58 this version of Princess Peach is so cute 🥺🥺🥺
I always assumed it was Toadsworth and that she was named princess because she was a special Toad that was tall and human-like. That's why Toadsworth gets to be in the palace, but clearly isn't king
That would be weird.
I personally thought he was just her butler/caretaker ever since she was a baby, which is what he probably is.
I never thought about it that way, but I guess it is possible... Partners in Time shows that the ages line up, and even as a baby no one else is around her at least

She is still called princess Toadstool. It's princess Peach Toadstool.
Technically yes, but like Eggman vs. Robotnik, one name is a product of English localization and not in the Japanese versions.
Peach was always Peach.
According to super Mario 64 its princess toadstool peach
@@sometf2player752 No, that 'Peach' at the end is enunciated in such a way to imply a first or a nickname.

I think the more cannon option is that she doesn't have parents, she's an orphan. She never gets to see her parents, and so we don't either. The exist, they have personalities, and now we know what they look like, but she never gets to see them.
6:40 Hm, so do you think the queen lives somewhere else in this universe? Or is she dead? 💀
In a game called "Mario and Luigi Partners in time" one of the principal characters is the father of the princess Peach, the "king".
He calls her his daughter so it's cannon

Well, in reality, a monarchy can be ruled without a King or queen. Take Monoco, for example
I actually kinda wish these two got more attention. Maybe they could make a return similar to how Pauline did?
I have to say, the artist illustrating peach's parents took a lot of inspiration from Aurora's family in Sleeping beauty, I first saw it in the similarity in both Princess Toadstool's crown as well as the queen's, and at 4:46 we can clearly see the same clothes from Aurora on P. Toadstool, as well as the outfits of King Stephen and Queen Leah for the parents ;D

Peach: _bummer_
I find it hilarious that obscure and outdated lore is found in the original manuals or the comics. Like the original Hero of Hyrule from the first Zelda game isn’t even Hyrulean, he’s from a place called Calatia and he has actual parents.
4:45 read the text beside the bloody image.
Didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. Good eye there, m8.
Yes, that's not the queen. That's Peach!
In the mario bros movie Peach is little and gets taken in to the kingdom. She probably has normal parents.
I've been asking my mom this from over a year
Just wanted to say I love your use of the old Windows XP background at 6:33 and across your other videos. Always makes me nostalgic.
Fun fact : the original title of this video is “Who are peaches parents?”
5:42 the kings hat is the Mario equivalent of money print
Let's start a petition to put Princess Peach's parents in the next Mario game!
They genuinely should've made "bummer" Peach's catchphrase in the games
Oh man I have one of those comics and there's actually a cassette tape which is a read aloud with fully voiced characters including the King.
7:21 "Its so effective it has no effect!"
“Princess Peachs’ Parents”
Try saying that 20 times in a row
My goodness your videos are so interesting and informative. You really do so well with the research, and always present it in an entertaining and intriguing way. That’s it, I’m subbing.
Lol I assumed this was a Princess Celestia (from My Little Pony) situation where the Princess character has no parents and should be queen but prefer to be called Princess/ the creators want the more marketable title of Princess for their main female character.
No, they're called princesses because queens = EVIIIILLLL
You need to show that old “how to beat super Mario bros” comic in full. The old names for the enemies and power ups are hilarious.
whos marios parents? whos bowsers parents? whos toads parents? whos Yoshis parents? Whos donkey kongs parents? Does it matter? No. they're fictional game characters but still a good video none the less.
Since Super Show Mario and Luigi’s Mom of course or is you Watch Luigi’s day out.
Except we’ve seen Peach as a human baby. Unless she was given one of those mushrooms at a very young age?
just replying to bump this comment because that’s what i believe too
So
1. You got this from Game Theory
Or
2. You know this yourself and you’re big brain
Both. I know how bees work, also, seen the video.
@@IAMTHESTARMAN noice
King Toadstool is always getting himself kidnapped
Princess Toadstool is also getting kidnapped alot
Fits
However my theory for her mother, Queen Toadstool and why we have so little info on her is this...
I don't know how official it is, but like 90% of characters in video game art back then looked different from their in-game design.
It could also be the case that she has ceremonial clothes and everyday clothes, and this is her ceremonial outfit.
I actually remember playing smb3 and at the end of every world you got greeted by the king of the mushroom Kingdom, I remember that
I could have sworn Toadsworth was Princess Peach father.
It's been said that Peach sees Toadsworth as more of a father or grandfather figure, but no genetic relation as far as I know.
Lmao I also thought Toadsworth was like Mario's father in law 💀
4:15 That's the same image Nintendo took as a background in the SM64DS casino gambling machine.
