- We tested this turbo only on small cars so far... today, that's about to change :D
Enjoy!

You'd need a calendar to measure the turbo lag lmao
Lol I'm dead 🤣
dayummmmmm 😂😂
Leterealy yes
When the anti-lag system produces thrust instead of boost
So this is what one week of turbo lag looks like?
The weight of the compressor wheel would probably induce some mad gyroscopical effects.
The bus would probably do a kick flip once it’s spooled
@@shadowdragonmusic9419 LOL this made me laugh really hard
In my mind
Do you wanna know the most amazing part of this?
99% of the time, the ship turbo hasn't fully spooled up yet... which is understandable, since I don't think a bus engine will size up to a SHIP TURBO.
But if the engine was able to spin the turbo very quickly... we could be looking at the predicted power outputs from the engine graph actually happening.
Right
Couldnt this use another small turbo to spool the bigger?
@@gabrielv.4358 I'm no expert but maybe? I think it's simply just simply far more air pressure and volume than what would be achievable with a "small" bus engine. If you follow the laws of physics, the air will slow in velocity as it goes from the combustion chamber, through piping, and into the compressor wheel of the turbo and have insufficient velocity to spool the turbo enough to even create a little boost pressure. I think it would be a lot like slapping a large turbo off of a semi truck onto a weed whacker engine.
However, the power band is noticeably spiky. There isn't much going on below 1000 rpm, which isn't helped by the tall gearing.
Hilariously funny😄😄 but, great fun content as usual!@ Thanks for not unnecessary crashing the bus!
Oh yeah, the boost really kicks in at 300psi. Never thought I'd be saying that.
You- my sudi runs 13psi.....
Bus- ....HAHA😑 try 1300
Dayum, that big ole' turbo certainly makes that thing go fast. I wonder how it is able to do that since the turbo is probably heavier than hell.
ya they can weight about 18 ton.
hey bozo
@@kamurek1878 Why do you call me that?
@@fexploder3281 none of your business little man
@@kamurek1878 who pissed in your cheerios?
Ever consider getting a wheel + peddles? I feel you’d have more control over some these things specially while turning or the ability to baby the throttle while needed.
even just a controller does wonders!
@@ImpenetrableBread Or even a phone
@@ImpenetrableBread I have assigned the clutch to my left stick moving down. Works well enough.
The key binding system in beamng is wonderful, i can reliably control cars even with just a mouse
Bro did you not see that sick drift in the beginning test.....
Dejav plays on ear rape🤣🤣
A boosted launch in this takes generations
At 800+ psi of boost the cylinder dead would've looked like a comet leaving earth's atmosphere. 🤣
1st- I love this!
2nd- New cruise ship sized k&n cone filter now available on amazon prime🤣
3rd- Exactly how long would it take a bus running red line at 2.5k rpms to spool up a turbo that size? 🤔hmmmm
To measure that you’re going to need a fancy timer that is capable of counting over 24 hours.
Realistically, it would probably never spin at all
@@tippyc2 don't hate on my dreams😂
I just wanna believe!!
Kinetic energy at full speed / kinetic energy developed to turbocharger wheel from the engine = time in seconds
@@MM-cg2vj soooo.....
(KeS)/KeDT+FwE=T
the only drawbacks I see is it might scrape on the bus terminal roof, oh and the 0.5mpg. Apart from that its a winner I think
Weight balance and center of gravity look concernig on this one.
@@yapod9061 Nah dude, it'll be mint. Get all the cities to convert their buses to cruise ship turbos 🤣
I think you'd have to measure fuel economy in GPM
It seems like the physics for the turbo are the same as a regular turbo in beam but with just immense amounts of boost and a new texture is that correct?
Yep. Also, the massive lag haha! The turbo model is actually from the Piccolina.
and probably the turbo be reaching a huge RPM to generate so much boost without having the physics changed and that's why it behaves in a strange way that looks like "turbo lag"
Yes I guess that's the limitation of the game/modification.
Usually such massive turbos would not push hundreds of pounds per square inch (psi) into engine, they'd still push roughly the same amount of pressure as smaller industrial turbos, but since it's so massive it'll push insane amounts of air.
These mods would take on a whole another level if you could mod how much volume of air you can push into the engine rather than a massive pressure.
Imagine hearing this go down the road. Guy gonna be pulling people into the turbo💀
💀
Mechanic: With this gigantic turbo, how much boost do you want?
Bus driver: YES
Need to data log the transmission temperature , pretty sure the fluid is burnt to a crisp along with the clutch packs 😁👍🏿
When you vehicle generates over 1,000 PSI of boost, you know damn well it's gonna be damn quick.
Imagine that turbo on a pigeon
Already done. ua-cam.com/video/nDU-9fXAk_Y/v-deo.html
Pigeon engine would struggle with pushing 300psi tho
Never seen a bus go from 0-60 in 10 seconds without rockets
Finally, a bus to go toe-to-toe with high-speed rail!
This reminds me of a video from The Onion from 2010 about Obama introducing high-speed buses at 165MPH instead of, more expensive, high-speed rail.
This would have plenty of room for overtaking at 165MPH...if the turbo could catch up.
problem is though, if you started in New York you'd reach peak boost in Honolulu.
As a bus driver, who has driven these kinds of buses, I appreciate this
It should be spooling up for like 3 minutes with such a small engine
averge 2jz turbo size be like:
How do you make all of these modifications for these videos? I play a lot of Beam but I've never figured out how to do wild stuff, like a cruise ship turbo.
Probably by taking the turbo model from another vehicle (Piccolina I think) and scaling it way up, then messing with the numbers in engine.jbeam. If you go into the folder where the vehicle data is, you can tinker with the numbers yourself. You can change power, cooling, fuel consumption, weight, redline, and even the exhaust sounds. (Among a ton of other things)
He made his own mods
I wish my streetlite bus had this lol! Not sure my elderly passengers would appreciate the huge turbo spool noise, the ones that aren't deaf anyway.
That oversteer tho 👀
1:11 was a perfect drift around that bend.
Put the gearbox in manual to raise the engine speed more
Bro it is manual :D
@@peterpolanszki8903 manual but arcade shifting
Now this is what i call a bus attached to a turbo .
I can imagine the clutch being friction welded shut from the sheer torque
"How big do you want your turbo?
-Yes"
Would expect it to be a bit quicker, altough i guess it revving so low just means it takes longer for the power to translate. Same power but revving much higher being quicker ect
IRL guess it would take a few minutes to spool up, but afterwards I think you could drive on turbo alone, that is just use the airflow to push the pistons :)
That torque curve though. 26,000lbft at 1,300 rpms 😮
"how much turbo do you want?" Mustard: yes
That turbo will be cooler then the artic
That bus drift though
that's epic
The boost kicks in after 3 to 4 business days
Average civic owner
haha yeah
true
Sick!
That bus handles like all the vehicles in my dreams.
Drifting a Bus at 140+mph is on a whole other level
I would like to try this quite big turbocharger on my 1998 Renault Twingo and its 1139 cc ! Maybe it could be a little bit efficient .
Petrol or diesel
@@RohanSanjith petrol , no Diesel engines on the 1st generation Twingo ( 1993 to 2007 )
Your engine could fit into that air filter lol
@@liljaymac5387 easily ! 😁
@@liljaymac5387 🤣
This is amazing
Why hasn't anyone done this it's amazing
What a throttle response!
Air in a combustion chamber is nothing with out fuel. And to maintain proper air fuel ratio on the 500lbs of boost would literally hydro lock the cylinder with fuel. Awesome concept and video still dude!!!
Driver: * I'm your turbo lover *
Guy being chased by bus: * better run for cover *
Driver: * we hold each other closer, as we shift to overdrive *
Guy being chased by bus: * and everything goes rushing by, with every nerve alive *
Bro got the smoothest drift using bus 💀
you can also take off the air filter for a quick and easy tent haha
This is awesome! I'm can hear the cummins ism.
In Jones English...
_"That's a _*_BIG-ASS_*_ turbo, right there!"_
That drift at 1:20 might’ve been the sketchiest thing I’ve ever seen in beamng
0.5 MPG. The perfect urban daily driver.
More than that, happy new year.I look forward to working with you again this year
When you have to measure boost in tons:
Imagine the movie Speed, but in a universe where this kind of powerplant was normal for a bus.
"There's a bomb on the bus. If the boost drops below 1000 psi, it will detonate."
1:16 Eurobeat intensifies.
GAS GAS GAS
How much boost you want?
*All of it*
should do this again only with 2 turbos
Now all you need is the Free bird soundtrack
Is there a way to twin turbo or even compound turbo this? Or twin charge it with a supercharger?
Imagine the biggest supercharger + biggest turbo instant power
Looks like Ray Charles welded those headers with his feet🤣
That drift tho
Imagine adding this to the biggest engine in the game
God damn the control you have over that bus I can only imagine how much times you did crash it into the wall though
"Please let this be a normal field trip"
Wow with those boost pressures the head would fly off and land on the ship you got the turbo from.
HOLY SMOKE HE DID IT!!! He actually put a ship turbo on the bus!! Let's gooo!!
As soon as the video started, I was 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌🏿👍🏿👍🏿👊🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇦
In real life I doubt it could even spool the turbo up properly.
Which is a good thing, because all that boost would almost certainly blow the engine.
That is 1 giant spoolie boy 😬
Do you have a link for the 88 bar map sensor? I need one for my roomster tdi😂
1:45 THE MPG LOL
this is kinda like in the long drive if you have the v8 and turbo mods installed, and put them on a bus xD
Very nice, let's see Paul Allen's turbo lag
this man knows what he's doing
8000hp - 26000lb-ft but 0-60mph in 3business days.
very realistic
its because of the turbo lag. if it was at max boost pressure immediately it could certainly do 0-60 below 4 seconds
@@dieselgeezer18 turbolag? it does 4000hp & 21200lb-ft at 1000rpm ... its just a unrealistic mod
with that kind of power the bus should fly like a rocket - needless to say with that kind of torque everything should be warped and damaged.
@@jugobetrugo7213 its probably bugged from the sheer size of it. anyways irl that engine would never spin a turbo that massive its just a game m8
This has got to be the most red neck looking thing I have ever seen on this channel
Engine behavior and power/boost compared the moment where traction is lost is like real bus/semi on fresh snow.
i just love the engine heat gauge
Damn that thing makes a lot of exhaust gas.... Considering that you're getting pretty good mileage actually!
Gas gas gas!
Gotta step on the gas!
Here is what a lot of people don't realize. City busses have smaller engines than Class 8 semi trucks. Some semi trucks from the factory have had 700-800 hp and over 2,000 ft lb of torqueand with the right mod8f8cations you can get 1,100-1500 hp with output. A city bus transmission and driveline wouldn't be able to handle that amount if power. It's more than putting g a bigger tire o on something. Every part in the driveline has to be upgraded.
Impressive that they were able to find a pod filter of that size..
No it’s cool, just stay at the starting line and we’ll be back in three weeks when your turbo spools up.
That was absolutely ridiculous!
10/10 I loved it 😅 I'm subscribing
I like the name of this channel because mustard is great, do not forget it.
How much torque? YES!!
now you're legally obligated to put the biggest supercharger on it
love your work brother ♥ ♥
Damn i must always giggle when i see your weird creations hahahaha. But its fun!
Golf 4 1.9tdi owners be like: lets put a chip from NASA, turbo from cruise ship and nozzles from a rocket.
we need a biger turbo 👌🏻
But that drift though that was perfect
Tokyo drift aint got shit this time
I didn't know cruise ships had turbos like that lmao 😂
bussin
Good save 1:14 lol
I think 55 bar of boost might be a bit more than the engine was designed for.
Just need an engine that can fit that turbo and rev to the moon
that bus goes safari for boost pressure lmao
