Absolutely stunning - Breguet is the brand that first drew me to haute horology, and to this day remains my grail. I love Patek, AP and Vacheron, but I adore this watch.
The Tradition is definitely a grail of mine and it really sets the whole watch market straight. Anytime I hear someone paying $23k for a Cermit or something else that's hyped and overpriced, I can always reference this watch as a cheaper, much better alternative.
Why are you comparing what cannot. The sub gives you 300 m water resistance, unmatched accuracy, micro adjustment, non corrosive oystersteel, etc etc. You can sleep with it, shower with it, spend your whole lifetime with it. The tradition is a stunning high horology dress watch. 2 different purposes both accurately priced
@@wukillah I've had a Hulk for some years now amongst other Rolexs I own and I also used to think your way but I've come to realise how wrong I was. Everything you've mentioned is completely irrelevant as almost all subs are simply not used that way in these times. They're mostly kept in a safe and taken out on a nice sunny day, with the owner happy in the knowledge that he could very quickly liquidate if needed and if there is no need to sell it will at the very least maintain its current market value. Of course you can compare the 2 watches and the truth is, in terms of watching, world firsts, engineering, skin in the game, finishing and brand heritage. The Breguet sits as the King of table whilst the Rolex eats in the basement with the servants.
@@jmmeares hi Jeremy, you re talking about people who buy watches they cant afford. I wear my rolex, AP, or Patek any day of the week, and they all offer different experience/flavors. The issue with the dress watch is that there is simply less occasions to wear it. If people treat their watch as an investment and want to keep them pristine, they re just plain wrong in my humble opinion but to each his own.
@@wukillah Hi Raph, and I agree with everything you say... except I would be happy to wear my dress watch as often as a sports. Maybe if you're on the water most days then yes a sub is better. People have worn more fragile watches centuries before us, in tougher conditions I'm sure... this "sport watch narrative" is a very new one that simply perpetuates the sports watch cause of being overvalued. You may also agree, in terms of the original point about discussing watchmaking with someone who knows nothing about watches. The Brequet is a fantastic example of watchmaking whilst the sub is nothing more than a veblin good, much like a pair of Jordan's or a Berkin. This is the core of the original point.
Thinking of getting my first watch..would this be a good purchase. I'm not rich..just a windfall and am looking for just the one piece with a budget of 30k I do not expect to spend more than 5k on a watch outside of this one time as thats more within my income level.

@@jmmeares all valid points 👍👍
t mosso a man after my own heart...bored with Rolex but knows what the REAL haute horology stuff is.
Absolutely gorgeous grail for me!! That retrograde second.😍😍😍
I have the same one. Marvelous timepiece
You know it's a great watch when Tim starts with a 'there are days at work when I have to review 8 Rolexes or Seamasters'.
Amazing watch. Looks sensational
This gonna be my grail. Great review Tim.

Grossartiige Uhr!❤
Marvelous watch. If only they made an automatic, retrograde seconds Tradition in 37mm.
there is one in 38mm! 7037
Definitely another amazing watch from Breguet. But definitely not on the level of the Classique Squelette Tourbillion.
This is my type of watch. :)
Perfection!
incredible
Top,I also like Tradition retrograde date…marine hora mundi is the best world timer ever made..Breguetvis top
Menudo peluco, ¡¡se sale del mapa!!
😍😍😍
Great watch but the Pre-owned price is too high. Especially when it's available wholesale for under 20K.
Where can I get one for that price?
Please tell me where, I have not seen this watch for less than $28K new.
If only they made on with a Tourbillion, that would be my end game watch.
