Another great video Steve. I can't believe that some of these guys are driving trucks with semi/low profile and wide tyres, it's just unbelievable hey. As you pointed out in the vid, a lot of people seem to think that wider is better when it's length of foot print from a taller skinnier tyre that is needed. Did i see some recoveries using the tow ball? That's a huge no no. The tow balls aren't designed for that kind of loading and will turn into a ballistic missile when they eventually snap.
Right. Snatching on a ball is bad news. You can use the hitch if you do a static pull. If they have a hitch attached, I figure eight the strap end around the back side of the hitch. It doesn't slip down that way and doesn't use the ball as the pulling point.
Appreciate it. I used ones from TGL industries but they don't make them anymore. Alltopz are good. I've got a rope from Fiery Red. As long as it's in good shape, they all work about the same. Stay away from really thick ropes because unless you have a really heavy vehicle they don't work as well.
It is a permanent 4wd system. The difference being AWD systems don't have low range. Most vehicles these days use part-time (selectable 2wd or 4wd) 4wd systems.
