EDIT2: Hey! Xenoblade X video is now officially up, it is even longer than this video so that should help emphasize point 3 even more. Link right here: ua-cam.com/video/CrE8ojPj_LY/v-deo.html EDIT: I’ve received many comments about Xenoblade X here so I’m going to go more in depth on why I did not include it in this video. 1. Yes, I have finished it. I did not include it in the part at the beginning because it is not a focus of this video, and it wouldn’t have fit nicely to put 5 games there. 2. The main goal of this video is to get newcomers excited for Xenoblade 3, it’s meant to serve as a decently comprehensive guide on the series so they can play the recommended games to enjoy Xenoblade 3 more. Is there a chance Xenoblade X will connect to Xenoblade 3? Yeah there is, but Nintendo has explicitly marketed Xenoblade 3 as a fusion of the worlds of 1 and 2, so I decided to focus this video on just those games and their expansions. I know the fan theories, I know the speculation, but I do not think that is enough of a reason to talk about Xenoblade X just because it MIGHT connect. Even if it does, Monolith is smart and knows that not many have played X, so any connection will simply not require knowledge of X. 3. Xenoblade X is so different. There are many mechanics unique to it and explaining them would eventually turn this video into a Xenoblade X video that also talks about the other games, which takes away from the main intent. I am also new to this whole “retrospective” stuff as this is the first video in the series, so please be understanding that adding another whole game that is super different would simply be too much for me to handle in one video. If Xenoblade 3’s ending does connect to X or if Monolith Soft announces a port or a sequel, then Xenoblade X would get its own whole Why You Should Care just like this, but for now I do not find it necessary. 4. It is incredibly hard to recommend Xenoblade X when it is on a console only 13 million people own and is still $60 when at most it will have a small connection to Xenoblade 3 right at the end. If Monolith Soft really wanted people to play Xenoblade X before 3, they would’ve ported it to Switch just as they did with 1. Please stop asking me about X, if anyone does I will simply point them to the pinned comment. I stand by my decision to not include it and am not looking to argue this further. Original Comment: Thank you for watching the video! If you have any questions about the series, please feel free to ask them in the comments. Subtitles are also available if you would like to use them. This is easily my most ambitious project yet. I've had the idea for this series for a long time now and I am incredibly proud with how it turned out. I do think there are elements I could improve on though, and I encourage all of you to leave feedback on your thoughts about the video. As for the future of this channel, I really do want to try and do more retrospective/review-like content. I plan to do a Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes review when that comes out, and I have an idea for another series that is Xenoblade related which I will be starting fairly soon. I hope that I can continue to expand my Serious Videos playlist as right now there is only 1 video in there :P In terms of Why You Should Care, this is really just the start. I really hope I can bring light to a ton of underappreciated games that need to be talked about more. Xenoblade is admittedly not as underappreciated nowadays, _special edition i'm looking at you_ , but I really wanted to start with a series I'm comfortable with to kick this off. As for my next Why You Should Care? Well let's just say THE POWER IS YET UNKNOWN!
@Josh 64 Xenoblade X will get a video VERY soon, the script is done and the video should be out sometime in the next week (at the VERY most 2 weeks). I'm not going to do a full Why You Should Care right now as I plan to put it as a part of another series I am doing. In the near future if a port or sequel is announced, then it would definitely get one, but right now it'll just be getting a fairly traditional review.
Monolith writers have mastered the art of saying exactly what the plot twist is going to be 100 hours before it is revealed and having it still come off as an absolute shocking surprise
@@YoshiyaKJ my wild (out there) guess everyone is a main clone of the villain or clones that have dna of some of the characters we know and love. Which may have been hinted at by showing what may have been the main villain having similarish face to Noah (the black haired character).
I got Xenoblade DE out of nowhere, I got it because I heard like 3 people talk about it and they absolutely loved it and bought it going in almost completely blind. It’s now my favorite game of all time and one of my biggest inspirations creatively. Can’t wait to play the 3rd game.
24:13 "Melia, one of the stronger characters from the main campaign" Was that said specifically to reference the IGN review of the game calling her "one of the weaker characters"? This was a good video, wish more people saw this so they would stop making fun of Xenoblade all the time. If I didn't already know the whole series, this would be a very helpful video.
My Experience with Xenoblade is thus: I was one of the 5 people who owned a WiiU and I got Xenoblade X because I saw the trailers about the cool big world with the giant dinosaurs and the mechs. The plot was kinda weak but overall I'd enjoyed my time playing it. Way later I got Xenoblade 2 on the switch. I was vaguely aware of Xenoblade 1 (It's that game with that blonde from Smash lul) but I was mostly getting it because I figured it'd be kinda like X but with an Anime style that I was *super* loving (hot take I'm sure) and I definitely picked up Torna as soon as it came out. When Xenoblade DE Came out I bought it day 1 on the Eshop and I genuinely think I had an even better experience with it than 2. I was able to blast through the combat and enjoy the scenery and stories. Then I got to the ending and saw some scenes that made me go "Oh these games are connected" Future Connected was super fun. Despite it being a full release I couldn't help feeling like I was playing around in a forbidden zone (Due to the location originally being cut content from the game) and it was really cool. I am SUPER pumped for Xenoblade 3.
Watching this, and having been a Xenoblade fan living through June 8th and 30th.. It's insane to think about just how insanely big the fandom has become in the matter of several years
If you want the Xenoblade Torna the golden country expansion physical version and cannot get it in the US just import the UK version, it the same and there's no region locking, the game was released in big nrs in Europe as the first was very popular there's no shortage of it.
I'm so grateful for Shulk getting into Smash 4! Not only did it help the Xenoblade series become as big as it is now, but his inclusion is what got me and many other people into Xenoblade once 2 came out!
I'm a simple dragon, I see someone praising the Xeno series and I click. Now, onto the video. 1:37 I respect your decision. Xenoblade X was a great game, but it's not something to buy a Wii U for unless you have disposable income floating around. 1:56 While it might not have much to do with the main trilogy, that we know of, there are actually a lot of references to XC1 in the game's lore and sidequests. There have also been a lot of theories floating around that the world of Xenoblade 3 might be connected to XCX because of several locations that seem eerily similar to what we see in the Wii U game. We'll need to wait and see, but it might be a connection point. 3:24 Huh, I didn't know about some of those contributions. Neat. 5:20 The first Xenoblade game that I ever played, and probably the best exclusive game for the Wii U. Really, the only reasons to own one, are for Xenoblade X and the fact that it's the only modern system where you can play all of the classic Metroid games up to Metroid Dread. 6:45 Definitly not disagreeing with you there, Monolith are amazing at what they do and are some of the best game devs in the industry alongside Nihon Falcom. 8:00 It gets crazier when you realize that all of the areas that you've been exploring are the Bionis' body parts. You start on the Shin, work your way up the leg and around the waist. Then you ascend up to its back through the third lung and from there to the Eryth Sea behind the Bionis head. It's all so well designed and interconnected. 9:05 While the areas are generally larger, they feel smaller because you don't spend as much time exploring them as you do the Bionis and Mechonis, or Torna in the XC2 DLC. I wish that we were able to get even more fleshed out Titans to explore that were more than just a town and a field area. What was there was incredibly detailed, especially Gormott, but they don't really feel as big as we're told they actually are. That's the reason I love XCX so much, they really nailed home the exploration and movement in a way that the other Xenoblade games don't quite reach, though they're still fantastic in their own right. Or maybe that's just my opinion and I'm rambling. 9:18 The navigation system in 2 is almost as bad as its tutorials! 9:35 Well, at least XC2 and XCX streamlined the basic monster and fetch quests. X had a board for those and in two they're replaced with Merc Missions, which will tick away in the background so you don't need to personally deal with them. 14:21 The dub for two might be controversial, part of that is less bad voice acting and more poor voice direction. This was likely, at least partially, a result of working under a deadline and having a large number of the game's staff working on Breath of the Wild instead of XC2. It's unfortunate that Rex's early game voice over turns people off the dub though, because he's really good at delivering emotion and selling the really sad moments. And you can hear him improve as the game progresses, though I do wish they had let him re-record the battle scream. 15:27 Actually, a lot of people have been pointing out that there are a lot of references to Xenogears in the information that we've received so far, to the point where I wonder if XC3 might be a spiritual successor/sort of but not really retelling of that game specifically. 19:45 I wouldn'r be surprised if this was the sort of combat system they wanted to fully implement in the base game, if they hadn't had half their team stolen to help with Zelda. 22:03 All of us Trails fans: *Cry in taking literal decades to finish localizing the games.* Also, the entire Trails series is available on PC, and the sky trilogy can run on a potato as long as you have windows. It would be nice to get them all on Switch, but that probably won't happen for a while because reasons. 25:50 Wait, wait wait wait wait, really? I had no idea! C'mon Nintendo, the Switch's lifecycle isn't even over yet! At least you can still get it digitally, but not being able to find new physical copies is kinda sad. You can probably get the used physical copies from gamestop/EB games if you're luck and it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg. Very well done! I quite enjoyed listening to your video essay and I can tell you put a lot of effort and time into the research. I will say however, in the first half of the video you were speaking so fast that I actually needed to turn the video speed down to 0.75 so I could understand what you were saying. Therefore, a little tip for you would be to speak slightly more slowly, and try to project your voice as you speak. If you practice doing this, you're almost definitely see an improvement. Thanks for the hard work!
haha i had a whole comment replying to a lot of the points you made and it didn't send so i reloaded and lost the whole comment oh well, i'll just reply to the ending part Thank you for the feedback! I definitely understand what you're saying with the speaking thing. This is like my 3rd video in which I have used my voice and this is definitely on a much larger scale so I'm still trying to get the hang of things. I definitely have more videos planned to release soon that I need to work on and those will hopefully give me the chance to improve, so stay tuned!
@@YoshiyaKJ Woof, that happens to me occasionally, and it's never fun. What I do, is when my comment starts to get a bit longer I'll use Ctrl+C to copy it, so I have a backup if YT eats it.
As someone who owns Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, has never played Xenoblade of any number or name, nor never heard of this channel; I greatly enjoyed this. I am now considering picking up Xenoblade 2, and will be subscribing promptly.
Amazing video, and I'm glad that I have been discovering more and more Xenotubers. For the longest time I only saw Luxin, but I'm glad to see more. I'm glad be be aboard your channel now, great work and I wish you the best of luck in the future with videos.
Alright, so I'm about 6 and a 1/2 minutes in and and this is really well researched. You're doing a good job covering topics, though there are some things you glossed over and kind of sped through but I assume this was for the purpose of covering things more in depth later. The only real criticism I have right now is that your cadence is a bit too fast and it's hard to understand what you're saying from time to time. Slow down and articulate a little more and it will be a little easier to follow. Don't be afraid to take extra time to speak clearly and at a measured pace as it will help keep people's attention. Overall, really good job. I look forward to seeing more of the series
@@YoshiyaKJ of course. Creative endeavors take practice and public speaking, even in a mic in a room or an office, takes practice. Keep up the good work!!
A minute and a half in I have to wonder how because there's no mention of Xenoblade Chronicles X, despite claiming that he's played every Xenoblade game. You're not a real Xenoblade fan if you haven't played and beaten Xenoblade Chronicles X.
All the things it’s gone through to get to this point. Xenoblade deserves so much. And least of all any hate or even empathy. It absolutely should be tried out by anyone with a switch. It’s a wonderful series and one that should at least be respected as an amazing Nintendo IP. Also rip Xenoblade X. It’s never coming off the Wii U.
What a great video! I got into the Xenoblade Chronicles series in 2019. My friend let me borrow Xenoblade Chronicles 2 like you said in the video so I started that one first. Then Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition released so I got it and played it alongside 2. I beat both of them including Future Connected right before Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced so by then I was a huge fan and was super hyped! My friend actually let me keep his copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which was super nice of him. I now have 3 pre ordered look forward to having played all three games in this incredible series!
I feel like a major issue with Torna's combat is that you can't move during specials which makes things very whack sometimes, gives you less opportunity to use positionals
If you do have a wii u, x is the bast game on the system and there is a pretty good chance xenoblade 3 is going to tie into it somehow. Also you can watch the cutscenes from xenosega like a movie and they are still very enjoyable, almost like watching an anime.
I stared with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a few months after it's release on Summer and really enjoyed it. Even with it's god awful tutorials, I somehow was able to understand the combat enough to enjoy and only looked more into it when doing the challenges. I was flabbergasted at some simple things that I didn't know that made fun experience in battle to so much more. However, I'm glad 3 seems to be better polished (and consedering that all the tutorials on XCDE were also in a section to view them again), I'm sure it all is gonna be explained well. Mostly as I recently saw a streamer play 2 and the awful experience they had. They were gonna play it only on stream and with the awful tutorials the combat didn't stick with them at all. Saw the Chugga's video but didn't help and the chat couldn't explain it well so it made his experience very frustrating overall. He actually finished and gave it a 3/10 but took note that the game has good on it but the bad aspects ruined it and only needed more polish to release to make it feel a better game. Honestly, there were a lot of nitpicking that didn't hold out but understood that the mood he played through the game caused by his frustration to the combat. All in all, I respect him playing through the whole game but even more that he really liked the OST so much that he listens to it after playing the game. This all makes me wonder in the future if they ported 2 they fixed those flaws that I see could be easily fixed. But even with it's flaws, I love this game where I put hundreds of ours without noticing it. Played Torna, 1 DE and Future Connected and had a blast with them. With 3 being a game takes all the best aspects of the past games (even though I have a love/hate relationship with affinity chart); I'm glad I got on with this series.
This Year has some of the best gaming i had in Years I mean it started with Elden ring wich was an awsome start but when i saw the Direct i wrote to my friend "i always watch them to be dissapointed that no ne Xenoblade is announced" that 5 Seconds before Xenoblade 3 was announced.... FOR THIS YEAR. This Year alrady had 3 goty contender for me with Elden Ring Digimon Survive and Eiyuden Chronicle (wich i kickstarted.....10 miutes after it started) but with Xenoblade 3 in ther mix this year will be a blast.
On the gameplay side of what I’ve played if xenoblade the base of the gameplay really reminds me of some mmos I played in my youth (until you get later into the game). With what Xenoblade 3 is showing it looks like it will be the best of the series especially since you can switch characters in combat.
Very good video. I dropped XC2 after the first hours but after this and the recent Direct, I'm going back into it to finish and so far it's ok. Navigation and maps are just God awful. XCDE is still the best in my opinion.
I dropped 2 twice or thrice, but the last time, it got me hooked (moved onto ch. 6). Now I find myself maxing out every Blade as well as finishing every pending quest 💖
So here my experience with the franchise. I started with xc1 on the ds during my teenage years and loved it. The ending was weak and gliche as heck but my teenage lizard brain didn't care all that much. Fast forward to 2020 and I got a lot of free time due to covid, so a friend of mine lend me a switch with xc2 on it and said it was his favorite game. I was a bit turn off at first with the art style of 2, thinking it's a game that had to rely on fan service to sell rather than something the devs are passionate to make. But man, I was so wrong. Now it's my favorite in the series. Then I bought a copy of X to support Monolith before playing it on a simulator on PC and had a blast there as well. Having Cross as a blank character definitely had an impact on the narrative, but Mira was the best world Monolith had designed to date so it alone made up for it. XC:DE was a better port than the ds but the game wasn't as good as I remember, sadly. The quality of life are indeed better than 2, a path finding and moving the tutorial from the infomants to the menu was a good design. However, the combat was the most janky and least satisfied out of 3 games, the story went from good to just okay and the casts scream wasted potential and lack of development. There were a thing or two that slipped through my teenage brain years ago but had stood out like a sore thumb to an older me. Playing through XC1 again while replaying 2 also let me realize how much Monolith had improved over the years, so I'm glad I did that. I would rate 2 > x > 1, and all in all, I had high hope for 3, knowing that Monolith are becoming better.
@@blackpepper2610 yeah, buying a wii-u only for one game is psychopathic, but I don't think xcx will be coming to the switch anytime soon. After xc3, monolith will very likely have to work on BotW2
I disagree as a game xwnoblade 1 being better than 2. Story wise yeah xenoblade 1 is much better but as a game 2 is better the combat to mee feels much more polished where you don't have to cheese it to feel its balanced and the quest design while terrible still is leagues above 1 I'm sorry it's just alot more fun to me.
I remember being hyped for the og xenoblade chronicles on wii...counting the days down for the europe release...i got the collectors edition, i clocked it and thought...is chrono trigger still the greatest jrpg/games of all time, or is it xenoblade chronicles? I just could not believe how many boxes got super ticked, and being british, that voice cast was the best heard in any video game since metal gear solid...the music!...i could just go on and on with praises etc.
I got XC2 gameplay, i just had to watch a tutorial to see if that thing was actually meant to be that bad, and yeah, you have to kind of brake it to make it work. Gets better tho. XC1 is still the best game and I really love both games
Wow, I had no idea the screaming kid from "Robin Hood - Men in tights" had a youtube channel. Not to mention is a fan of the best ongoing rpg series. 😉😂
It happen that I'm a fan since the first game. Not Xenoblade, actually Xenogears. I played at the time of release and since that I could not stop playing it. I'm currently playing Xenoblade X because I have that impression that they'll connect it somehow.
also, it's amazing to know the entire lore because it's very often seem in Xenoblade. Also, Xenoblade 3 is the one with more references to Xenogears at date.
Enjoyed the vid alot it just makes me appreciate the series a lot more, hope to see more vids like this :) Also you should try Final Fantasy 14 since the Xenoblade games are like MMOs and alot of the voice actors from Xenoblade 1 are in the game along with the story being great
I've definitely wanted to try the free trial but it just seems like such a huge time commitment that I've been putting it off. It's pretty cool that there are a lot of Xenoblade VAs in it though!
@@YoshiyaKJ Yeah that's true, it's definitely a huge commitment but I'd say it's worth it, I've only started playing around December last year. When everyone was talking and playing to latest expansion, I'm currently on the third expansion and I'm taking a small break from the game for a while as nowadays. There's so many game to play especially since Xenoblade 3 is on its way :)
I'm not sure you'll laugh as hard as Tidus when the Wii U e shop will definitely be closed without any other way to access plenty of games legally if Nintendo doesn't add anything to the Switch e shop. Even if you don't care about past titles it's still a major loss. I'm not mad at anything by the way, I'm just saying because I find it pretty ironic to laugh at it when the Wii U actually has something huge going for it nowadays that is a major sell point and it makes more sense to cherish the console currently than laughing at it. I get it's a joke btw. I Loved the video though. It's a love letter to the franchise coming from a recent fan which is always lovely to see.
My favorites from best to least 1>>>x>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2 Haven’t played Torna, 2s harem ending destroying mythras character outright pissed me off too much. I wish your conversation with her had her either decide to accept herself or keep living how she thought others wanted her to be. Getting each personality its own body was beyond stupid
The real question is will it be better than xenogears!? I hope so the blade are good really good but none of them have ever felt as deep as gears. I think this could be the one it could become my favorite xeno game or even my favorite games of all time!
Oh don't worry I know those areas look fantastic and I absolutely love them. The only reason I didn't show them off here is because I really wanted to focus in on the Xenoblade games I think people should play before Xenoblade 3. I'll have a Xenoblade X video pretty soon though so stay tuned!
Except for chapter 7 in XC2 Cliffs of Moira field skills. F that awful game design. Dropped the game after struggling with that part for over 4 hours, mixing and matching blades but NOPE. Total playtime is 45hrs. I still feel sad and angry about the fact that I dropped it.
I saw a similar comment with what I was about to say and I don't want to be harsh, and please, don't take this to heart (as this is the internet) but while your video is good and you can see a lot of passion and effort put into it, your speech makes it a bit hard to understand. It seems you are speaking a bit too fast and almost stumbling on a few words (or they sound kind of muffled, I can't describe for sure). My genuine advice is the same as the other person: just take it a bit slower because you are doing great content. Still, very good video and keep up with the XenoLove. 💕
I appreciate the effort and passion on this video but there are too many inconsistencies in the data and I consider a big mistake putting out XCX out of the series as Takahashi himself confirmed all Xenoblade games are connected even if we don’t know how yet (probably the ending of xeno 3 will help). Also Shulk in smash was not the reason the series were saved. It helped people to recognise the character when XCDE released but the previous games were cult games already and people knew about it even if they didn’t play the games. XCX trailers were among the biggest hype driver of Wii U years, even if in the end the fans were confused because the new gameplay. XC2 didn’t even had Shulk until DLC. That DLC was planned even before the game released so the success of the game wasn’t the reason they developed Torna… nn
@@YoshiyaKJ my theory is that aliens attacked earth causing clause to use the machine that split him and caused half of him to become zanza who made an entirely knew word in xenoblade 1 and the remaining world clause tried to fix in xenoblade 2. Xenoblade x is the tale of the survivors who left earth during the attack. But thats just a theory
i disagree with the disparaging of xc1s sidequests, being able to just do 15 sidequests in 1 loop is very satisfying, and the storied ones, if you stop to read them, are very well written and in the case of a few, very sad. colony 9 has some of my favorite quests in the game, with sesames quest line and the one where the ladys son died in satorl marsh, as well as emmy leater's, desiree's, and niranira's questlines
I actually agree with what you're saying here, but for the sake of the video I wanted to try and say what would be better for a newcomer and what would most likely represent their playing experience, minimizing my personal opinion as much as possible. I like doing the sidequests because they're a chance to just enjoy the fun gameplay loop, and there are some that have good stories. The biggest issue though is that they don't separate between the ones that have good stories and the ones that are just basic fetch quests, which Xenoblade X does really well.
I doubt this game will win Game of the Year... that will prob go to Elden Ring. I think it will have a good chance to be a contender for Best RPG of the Year though.
-- According to some, this is a spoiler. (XC1, XC2, Torna) Oh, I care about Xenoblade. I keep up with it so I can find out what kind of BS plot that's gonna come out next that I won't like. I didn't like Xenoblade 1 or 2's narratives (never seen X or FC). I am really bored by sci-fi, but I really like fantasy... So that should tell you why I don't like Xenoblade 1: the ending ruins the whole thing. Xenoblade 2 does the sci-fi stuff a bit better (like the Architect, I did enjoy that aspect)... but the overall narrative is worse: just mostly boring all around (other then Zeke. Love him) rather than being just abysmal at the end. Torna is the only one I liked because it never mentions the sci-fi stuff, it's just about the characters not the reality they exist in. I can't wait to see how Xenoblade 3 tries to explain how the two alternate dimensions collide. I bet I'll "love" it~.
@@dantelawrence4676 It’s not criticism. It’s preference. If I said a particular food was too spicy, it wouldn’t be a criticism necessarily, but it’s just personal taste in food. When I see posts like “Xenoblade is so great you should play it,” maybe it’s just me as a Nintendo fan, but it feels targeted towards Nintendo fans, and as a Nintendo oldie guy, I just have a really hard time getting into games like xeno.
it isnt that it was bad, its that nintnedo marketed it so badly people thought it was an extension for the wii and didnt actually kno wwhat it was so they just didnt care
I loved 1 and still hold it as the best jrpg of all time but didn’t like two. I just couldn’t stand rex tora and pyra. Zeke and morag were decent but the other three were just so annoying.
Was laughing at the sales not the console itself. I personally do not think it is bad and there are plenty of games on it that I really like. I also think there are things it does better than the Switch. The fact is though it performed laughably bad commercially due to Nintendo's lack of solid marketing.
I agree with everything except the first xb1 having a great dub. This is purely my opinion, but I think the dub is horrible. Besides Shulk, most the actors sound very amateurish.
Leaving out a game from one of your favorite series because the console it was sold on did poorly is pretty dumb tbh. The Wii U had good games so it seems childish to choose bashing the Wii U over including one of only 4 games in the series.
Listen I love Xenoblade X, it’s one of my favorite games in the series and I’m giving it its own whole video pretty soon, but there are other reasons I did not include it 1. This video is releasing around the time of Xenoblade 3 and one of my main goals is to get people excited and interested in the series so they can play that game. I personally do not believe it is at all necessary to play Xenoblade X in order to enjoy Xenoblade 3 and honestly it should just be played last anyway. 2. Xenoblade X is so different that it would easily require the most explaining in every section and would take away from the goal which is to talk about the “main series” of Xenoblade. The combat has mechanics like overdrive and skells and I’d have to explain FrontierNav and the side quests and the divisions and online and at some point this just becomes a Xenoblade X focused video that also includes other games. The games in the “main series” are more similar to each other so it’s much easier to explain the games in a more timely manner. 3. And the reason I consider the sales to be another reason is because all the games I talk about in this video are on Switch which is very convenient for people playing Xenoblade 3 since most people interested in the series would already have one. I would not recommend buying a Wii U just to play Xenoblade X before Xenoblade 3 when the only thing you would really get out of it is a few references (e.g. the Full Metal Jaguar class in Xenoblade 3) So no, I did not just exclude Xenoblade X because the Wii U sold poorly, I have other reasons as well, but I apologize if it came across that way.
I maybe a bit too late, but I highly recommend people avoid official Xenoblade 3 promo. Why? Because if I had saw the Xenoblade 2 promo, I would have been spoiled by the only thing that finally got me to keep playing Xenoblade 2 in the first place. ( I hate Xenoblade 2 artstyle. It made the game almost unplayable) Had I seen it's promo, I would have quit in chapter three.
What I have more of a personal connection to XC1 so it is my personal favorite. Never said it was objectively the best or anything, both games have a fair amount of flaws. Besides it's just my opinion so... why are you so bothered by this? I think 2 has a better combat system, better world, better music, and a incredible story with an amazing ending. Like I fail to see why my personal preference here is such a problem for you.
@@YoshiyaKJ no one can have an opinion anymore! It’s sad really. I’m with you XBCDE has way more substance overall than 2 does to me. I’m thinking XBC3 will please everyone with the greatest hits of gameplay from the series
Algorithm blessed you. Now on another note, customization is practically removed 2 onwards, xenoblade without slotted gear is trails without orbments. Its bad and not right. Removing options just to mainstream it was a massive mistake and makes it significantly less fun now. Xenoblade is so hard to love because monolith never keeps all the good stuff games did cough x overdrive cough. slotted gear being removed removed a large part of Xenoblade's identity to me. Story isn't enough to keep me engaged in a game. Gameplay loops matter too and X had the best gameplay loop hands down and instead of expanding on 3's gameplay loop it was instead gutted. 3 doesn't look that great so far. 3 just looks like a slightly better torna but very inferior X gameplay wise. Xenoblade is not a series one can easily love.
Lame. People that freak out over a game announcement are people with no life. It's just as bad as those that cry and clap 👏 during a movie. I'm happy of the announcement and excited to play it. But no real reason to freak out..
I played every xenoblade game, went through all the monolith soft world design, completed every sidequest, went through Xenogears and Xenosaga, and yet I still never found who asked.
I ran through the entirety of Bionis and Mechonis, went to Alrest and explored every nook and cranny of every single Titan, even going to the Land of Morytha and the World Tree, then took a rocket to Mira and ran through the entirety of it whilst being chased by bloodthirsty Indigens, eventually getting a 100% Mira survey, and I still, for the life of me, could NOT find who asked.
EDIT2: Hey! Xenoblade X video is now officially up, it is even longer than this video so that should help emphasize point 3 even more. Link right here: ua-cam.com/video/CrE8ojPj_LY/v-deo.html
EDIT: I’ve received many comments about Xenoblade X here so I’m going to go more in depth on why I did not include it in this video.
Original Comment:
Thank you for watching the video!
I hope that I can continue to expand my Serious Videos playlist as right now there is only 1 video in there :P
In terms of Why You Should Care, this is really just the start.
What about Xenoblade X?
@Josh 64 Xenoblade X will get a video VERY soon, the script is done and the video should be out sometime in the next week (at the VERY most 2 weeks). I'm not going to do a full Why You Should Care right now as I plan to put it as a part of another series I am doing. In the near future if a port or sequel is announced, then it would definitely get one, but right now it'll just be getting a fairly traditional review.
Xenoblade X? More like,,, Xenoblade 10
I always thought is was XENOBLADE X as in CROSS
@@justajoshy I believe in Japan it is actually like that but in America I think it’s accepted to be like X
Monolith writers have mastered the art of saying exactly what the plot twist is going to be 100 hours before it is revealed and having it still come off as an absolute shocking surprise
We probably already know the big Xenoblade 3 plot twist and we just haven't realized it yet.
@@YoshiyaKJ my wild (out there) guess everyone is a main clone of the villain or clones that have dna of some of the characters we know and love. Which may have been hinted at by showing what may have been the main villain having similarish face to Noah (the black haired character).

Xenoblade is one of the greatest JRPG series ever made! So hyped for XC3!
I got Xenoblade DE out of nowhere, I got it because I heard like 3 people talk about it and they absolutely loved it and bought it going in almost completely blind.
It’s now my favorite game of all time and one of my biggest inspirations creatively.
Can’t wait to play the 3rd game.
Thank you Iwata for convincing Nintendo higher ups and made them bought Monolithsoft. Truly one of the best decision Nintendo ever made.
Yes it was!
As a fellow excitable screamer, i really appreciate seeing your wild reaction lol
Same. My roommates actually screamed at me to shut up when I started screaming about Xenoblade 3... lol
@@neondouble_ screw them lol they can move out if they wanna be so rude
Just beat Torna The Golden Country tonight, absolutely adore this series
My Experience with Xenoblade is thus:
I was one of the 5 people who owned a WiiU and I got Xenoblade X because I saw the trailers about the cool big world with the giant dinosaurs and the mechs.
Then I got to the ending and saw some scenes that made me go "Oh these games are connected"
Future Connected was super fun.
Dude I can't wait. The combat looks great they showed yesterday. Also characters from xbc1 and 2 characters being in game surprised tf outta me
15:12 You are the BESTEST for including this
I'm so grateful for Shulk getting into Smash 4!
Thanks for the hard work!
haha i had a whole comment replying to a lot of the points you made and it didn't send so i reloaded and lost the whole comment
oh well, i'll just reply to the ending part
Thank you for the feedback!
I loved the rock music in the background while you were trying to get through all those games in one breath!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment! I will definitely keep those things in mind for the future.
@@YoshiyaKJ of course. Creative endeavors take practice and public speaking, even in a mic in a room or an office, takes practice. Keep up the good work!!

What a great video! I got into the Xenoblade Chronicles series in 2019. My friend let me borrow Xenoblade Chronicles 2 like you said in the video so I started that one first. I love the gacha system in 2. It’s been 3 years since I started playing and I still don’t have Patroka. Nice!
Patroka is a torna blade like obrona or akos. You can get them only in newgame+

I Struggle with text games in 2022, but I love anime games still
10:00 Thank for putting in Torna City theme in the background.
If you do have a wii u, x is the bast game on the system and there is a pretty good chance xenoblade 3 is going to tie into it somehow. Also you can watch the cutscenes from xenosega like a movie and they are still very enjoyable, almost like watching an anime.
Xenoblade Chronicles about to change my life for the 3rd time!
That intro holy fuck, some1 call an exorcist 😂
20:20 That battle theme sould like a beach theme.
All the Xeno's are basically about super science gone wrong. I love them all!
Someone should send this video to Dunkey lol
Imo Xenoblade 2 combat is better than Torna. I dont need a simplified version
As someone trying to plow through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 right now ahead of the third game, I loved this a lot.
I'm at the endgame right now and I'm just taken aback by how good this is. The combat has grown on me so much
So here my experience with the franchise.
I personally prefer 1 over 2.
@@cypher838 whatever float your boat

I disagree as a game xwnoblade 1 being better than 2. Story wise yeah xenoblade 1 is much better but as a game 2 is better the combat to mee feels much more polished where you don't have to cheese it to feel its balanced and the quest design while terrible still is leagues above 1 I'm sorry it's just alot more fun to me.

I dont and probably never will
I appreciate the effort and passion on this video but there are too many inconsistencies in the data and I consider a big mistake putting out XCX out of the series as Takahashi himself confirmed all Xenoblade games are connected even if we don’t know how yet (probably the ending of xeno 3 will help).
Xenoblade x had a massive telethia in it. Theres got to be a connection in that
@@YoshiyaKJ I was just stating a connection. Not trying to pressure you specifically or anything.
You did not put in Malos Indeed Voice line I am sad.
I doubt this game will win Game of the Year... that will prob go to Elden Ring. I think it will have a good chance to be a contender for Best RPG of the Year though.
Elden Ring counts as an RPG so no probably not. Maybe best soundtrack if we’re lucky.
Where's X on your Xenoblafr completion list!?
Not a focus of this video but I did complete it and I love it.

hey my names not ryan
-- According to some, this is a spoiler. (XC1, XC2, Torna)
Oh, I care about Xenoblade.
Alright thanks you're good.
The sci-fi combined with the medieval stuff gives thr series identity tho.
@@cypher838 I know that. Doesn't mean I have to like it.
You should emulate Xenogears and Xenosaga. If you can't buy them from the creators, then I don't think its morally wrong to emulate.
I’ve really really tried, and for what it is, I think it’s awesome- but for me, it’s just a bit too anime.
What do you mean by too anime?
@@dantelawrence4676 art style, writing, acting, game design, etc. just not really my thing.
But the games always have fantastic ost’s, I do love that.
@@MrMindCloud It's Japanese, what do you expect? Don't take this personally, but 'Too anime' is an extremely, EXTREMELY dumb criticism.
Loving the story, hating literally everything else so it's making these a slog of a fucking grind to play through sadly.
Maybe these games simply aren't for you?
Looks like I'm just in the minority that actually like the wii u
it isnt that it was bad, its that nintnedo marketed it so badly people thought it was an extension for the wii and didnt actually kno wwhat it was so they just didnt care
@@yoshisaur2693 fair point
I loved 1 and still hold it as the best jrpg of all time but didn’t like two.
I just couldn’t stand rex tora and pyra.
Zeke and morag were decent but the other three were just so annoying.
voice crack
I disagree. You should play Torna before Xenoblade Chronicles 2. My order would be Xenoblade 1 + FC, Torna, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and then 3.
I'll let the reaction pass but the Titus laugh to mock the wii u? Gross. Just... Gross
Was laughing at the sales not the console itself. I personally do not think it is bad and there are plenty of games on it that I really like. I also think there are things it does better than the Switch. The fact is though it performed laughably bad commercially due to Nintendo's lack of solid marketing.
@@YoshiyaKJ ahh. Sorry for that
Me getting cos mos in mor ardain
i'm jealous
@@YoshiyaKJ I got KOS-MOS in Uraya 20 hours in on my first playthrough
Idk man the map system is just one of the worst if not the worst I’ve seen in all gaming, is basically useless
I agree with everything except the first xb1 having a great dub. This is purely my opinion, but I think the dub is horrible. Besides Shulk, most the actors sound very amateurish.
Massive disagree.
Just don’t tell me to care about Xenoblade 2. Nowhere near as decent as the first entry.
Leaving out a game from one of your favorite series because the console it was sold on did poorly is pretty dumb tbh. The Wii U had good games so it seems childish to choose bashing the Wii U over including one of only 4 games in the series.
Listen I love Xenoblade X, it’s one of my favorite games in the series and I’m giving it its own whole video pretty soon, but there are other reasons I did not include it
I would not recommend buying a Wii U just to play Xenoblade X before Xenoblade 3 when the only thing you would really get out of it is a few references (e.g. the Full Metal Jaguar class in Xenoblade 3)
So no, I did not just exclude Xenoblade X because the Wii U sold poorly, I have other reasons as well, but I apologize if it came across that way.
It made the game almost unplayable)
Had I seen it's promo, I would have quit in chapter three.
Pretty hard to care when it's stuck on Nintendo's limited hardware.
Your “scream” is pure irritating noise
Dood... You totally lost me when you said XC 1 was better than XC2. You got that WAY backwards, man.
What
I have more of a personal connection to XC1 so it is my personal favorite.
Umm I hope that reaction in the beginnging was a joke.
Why?
Get off ur high horse and let ppl be passionate about things.
Why you shouldn't play it's slow and boring as fuck .
Because you probably gave up in the first few hours.
