Ahh good times. I remember having this game on my GameCube playing it when I was a kid till I got freaked out and scared at some of the enemies and pretty much stopped playing till I grew a bit older to understand and finally beat this game lol!

I got stuck at some aim and release batclaw at some ledge I could never ever reach somehow, while following some villain/hostage if I recall well? Not very advanced in the game I am sure...
In a lot of ways I always found this game to be the the precursor work that led to Arkham Asylum (not the open world ones). Oh sure it plays pretty poorly nowadays, but this was the first batman game to truly make me feel like batman when I was younger. All the other ones were either Ninja Gaiden (NES) clones or Beat-em' ups. That is until this game came out.

Ah, right in the feels. When I got my ps2 for christmas this was one of the first 3 games I got (the others were Jak and Daxter and Fur Fighter's Viggo's Revenge). And now looking back at it, getting those feels for the first time I played a serious game on ps2 in the system's youth. Even though the graphics are dated now, still hits me with the memories of when I was in middle school and looked forwards to my holiday breaks of visiting my dad and nanna when she was still alive, RIP. As a side note, you can't go wrong with the franchise's mixture of gothic and art deco. It's so classy and hip at the same time. Like the Disney of super hero cartoons in quality and class. (Yes I know it's WB but you get my point).
"hey, lets make a boss battle with Mr Freeze when Batman has to stay out of his sight or he gets frozen, so he has to use the environnement to cause damages to Freeze without actually fighting him face to face" Bat vs Freeze games since ever !^^
The Mr. Freeze boss fight in the 'Adventures of Batman and Robin' game for Genesis wasn't like that. It was a kind of aerial battle in which you (Riding on a jetpack) first have to aim your projectiles for the glass dome covering Mr. Freeze in the floating/ flying vehicle, then when that shatters, you have to aim for Freeze himself for a while. Eventually, he falls out and hangs onto the edge of his flying vehicle, so then for the final phase of the battle, you have to aim for the vehicle, so it'll eventually explode and cause Freeze to fall.
Its genuinely weird how unsettling this game actually got, and it was never any single thing: Enemy design, claustraphobia, paranoia, environment design, the joker fucking "dying". This is the ONLY batman or superhero game i have seen that has had multiple players all saying that it scared them.
2018 here! I still love how this game was based on the animated series, and was done so well. Also, the Joker slapping his henchman at 16:47 was even funnier than when he slapped Harley Quinn in Injustice."Baby, you're the best!" LOL
I remember i stopped playing the game at the poison ivy train station. The creepy ivy monsters and bat girl calling for help on the radio just kind of freaked me out.

The first game I owned on PS2. Played it a ton as a kid, takes me back to the good old days. It was really challenging if I remember correctly... the tone as many others explain was terrifying for me as well! I was just a kid haha... but man, it was scary. Looking at it now, it’s just a cartoon 🤣 still looks awesome and fun as it was back in the day. I wish times could be simple again like they once were...
This game was ahead of its time! Likely the only good bat game based off of batman:TAS. Years before arkham asylum, about a decade almost. This game was the only time Warner brothers batman game developers actually got it right!

It really doesn't matter what year this games made until they are in our heart we watch videos about them and try to remember the days we had with them (sorry it got long and for my bad English)
Honestly I still love this game and play it nearly once a year to this day, with the only thing that hasn’t aged well being the combat imo, especially in comparison to the Arkham games. I don’t even think the graphics are that bad since they nail the look of the show so well. Always wished it was open world although this was very early in the 6th generation of consoles so I understand why it’s not there.
i like that they seem to have gotten the voice actors from the animated series. here's the thing, the guy in the animated series uses his regular voice when he is batman and a fake voice when he is bruce wayne, because bruce wayne is the costume and batman is his true identity. whereas christian bale uses a fake voice as batman, which is why i think he played batman wrong. and mark hamill is the best joker then cesar romero then jack nicholson heath ledger . . . . . . and then jared leto all the way at the bottom
I remember getting this in 2003 with a Gamecube. When I first played Arkham Origins in 2016, I was worried about thugs getting back up as there were no batcuffs
19 year old game still worth talking about. The prologue to what would be the Arkham series. The story of this game is really impressive and still gives me goosebumps until this very day. The way the Joker 🃏 is portrayed in the game as a very dark and diabolical enemy and also how he methodically deceived Batman. This should be remade to the modern consoles.
As someone who played this as a kid quite a lot going back as an adult.... this game is painful. Aiming is a total nightmare on controller (I had this game on PS2) so one thing PC benefits from is you can actually aim. There are so many fights that require to aim well as if you're using a mouse, I'm shocked this game didn't do the aiming for you or make it much much easier (especially since the control scheme on pad is you have to hold a button then you can aim... you can't move around and aim simultaneously) The fighting is pretty bad, special moves barely work. You fight the Joker and he has a very small window where you can actually hit him, somehow the JOKER is kicking your ass in a 1on1 fist fight. The benefits of the game would be the graphics, the music and the VAs returning to reprise their roles from the show. It's not Superman 64 levels of bad by any means but as an adult I don't have the patience to beat it like I did when I was younger. I guess as a kid you don't realize how much BS you're being put through. It's nice that the game is pretty linear but it's very very picky on how you do things and does not feel well designed at all. Arkham really did Batman justice and I really appreciate that fully until replying this. If you played when you were younger and want a nostalgia trip it's fine but if you want a solid, pre-Arkham retro/new Batman games I recommend any of the following titles (P.S each title is different but are still good, so Genesis Batman TAS is completely different from SNES Batman TAS)- Batman (NES, PC Engine and Genesis), Batman Returns (NES and SNES), Adventures of Batman & Robin (on Genesis and SNES) Batman Rise of Sin Tzu and Batman Begins.
The best Batman game ever the opening credit scene like a movie so classic and the animation style is on point from the cartoon & really a perfect game at its time

Interesting that Batgirl is essentially Oracle in this even though she's not paralyzed.
They did that because they thought paralyzing Barbara would've been too violent for kids.
