You have to pay taxes on the profit earned. You pay less taxes, though, if you've held the stock for over a year.

@@cocoarose9990 , you would have sent it over. Your brokerage should supply you with the necessary documents before tax season. You'd just give that information to your accountant and they'd determine if you owe anything.
What ever you invest on should send you a tax document around 2-3 months after the beginning of the new year. Enter in the profit amount on what ever platform you file your taxes on and thats it. Its that easy. It was my first time doing it this year. @@cocoarose9990

The last time he ran the pump and dump scheme the price ran into the 80s did u expect him to sell in the 40s or do u think he thought it could run back to the 80s again, and it may have gone back to the 80s had GME not taken the opportunity to sell a bunch of shares driving the price back down again. He also has options contracts still open so e can't sell till they expire or he'd cost himself millions in the options contract. He can then put out a short position and make more as it drops. Regardless the fact remains this has cost people retirement accounts following this guy because only he knows when hes going to sell and with the amount he can and has sold Mom and Pops and the average Joe will be the money he rakes in while you cheer! When you hold that many shares you can manipulate the stock price and that's exactly what he's doing. Its sick.
