    The dealer dropped my "Glitter and Dust" off at my house this morning. . So glad I held out for this version. It is, to me, the most beautiful of all of them. Remarkable to ride.. compared to my RE 500classic. So smooth. So easy to ride, the clutch and transmission are so precise. Acceleration is smooth and linear. I had an "opportunity" to do some really aggressive stopping with it.. the brakes are fabulous.

For example, 20 years ago when the largest displacement we had were 250's from Honda and Indian manufacturers didn't go above 225 cc in India, TVS didn't go beyond 180 cc but they were mad as hell. They actually gave the bigger bored singles a run for their money. I guess this stems from their history in motorsports in India. Fabulous bike and I enjoyed your review but I couldn't disagree more about the weight - I think it feels really light and in no way top heavy - you should try lugging a Triumph Scrambler around your drive to see what heavy feels like! That notwithstanding a fab film and particularly liked watching Holly ;0)

    • @KnoxArmour
      @KnoxArmour  5 років тому +17

      Hi, thanks for the comment and feedback! Ref the weight, I hold to my opinion and what we said, but yes it depends on what you are used to... note that we also called out some of the Triumph models in the review for being guilty of being and feeling heavy/top heavy. We'll explain more in the next video, but we did actually test the bikes with 14 of the women who work at Knox and of the 14 women, in fact, only 5 were strong enough to pick it up off the side stand and sit on it normally. We also had the bike weighed fully fuelled and was 230kg, so on the basis of those two things, I class this as pretty heavy and potentially hard to manage statically for women. However, at the same time, of course, it does depend on what type of bike you are used to. All the best, Aaron - Knox.

    Royal Enfield have nailed it with this bike. Tremendous value for money, with the investment where it matters such as a quality frame, suspension and brakes rather than a load of electronics which make a dubious contribution to rider enjoyment and represent a maintenance liability as a bike ages. The only let down on the Interceptor is the weight - for comparison I have have a Moto Guzzi 650 from the '80s which has 52BHP and weighs just 165kg dry. Need to shed some weight without losing quality. Triumph take note - a 650 with 50bhp and no gimmicks is going to grab a lot of buyers in the market for a traditional but modern 'British' twin. Why aren't you offering one?!!

    • @vishnumohannair8791
      @vishnumohannair8791 5 років тому +16

      I hear that changing those exhausts will lose you 10 Kgs. Soon there should be 18 inch aftermarket alloys, which you can put on instead of those steel rims which will save you another 20 kgs. The tyres can run tubeless. 200 Kgs is required to ride on highways if you want to feel safe when those huge trailers ride by. The weight is quite low down, not sure why she said it is top heavy

I have ridden both gt cont and interceptor ,same day and...well,I just got my driving license a few days ago,literary :)...so is it me not knowing to use the clutch and acceleration or is it indeed little lazy?I mean ...look,I am wondering does it really offer you the pleasure to ride it amd feel the acceleration and second thing, does it offer you the power snd torque to overtake on those on lane/direction between the village roads?
      and I am not asking just for fun, I am asking because I am at 70-80% to email for ordering it,the other 20% is like...would it be fun to ride it, would it be more fun and safer on a,for ex triumph street twin while paying “only” about 2500€ more.
      Honestly what do you think?
      Thank you and yes a professional video, with nice info ,especially on the braking side...I had a similar feeling about being little bit heavy (while actually having same weight as a street twin) with the braking distance little bit long(maybe a second disc can be easily installed?)
      I mean as a beginner some good brakes could really save you,maybe?

    Hello you two
    I congratulate you on this great report. This is the most beautiful Interceptor presentation I have seen so far. The scenery is really nice and the RE is really cool bike. A few months ago, I saw your presentation of the Classic 500, which I really liked. I also had the opportunity to test the Interceptor in Switzerland. I was very pleased. I drive a Bonneville T100 Spirit but the Interceptor is worthy of it. It is just a pity that the RE motorcycles cost about 35% more as in the UK.
    I'm looking forward to your next presentation of the Continental GT 650. I hope Holy we will be there again...
    Happy greetings from Switzerland
    Matthew

    I searched in your page 3 days back for a review on this bike but couldn't find n 3 days later here it is. Nicely done. Was planning for a 2019 street twin this October but after checking out so much positive review about the interceptor 650 from all over the the world finally decided to settle for 2019 interceptor 650 and will save approx 8200 plus 🇺🇸 dollars😊. In India 2019 Street twin is about $12,300 on road whereas 2019 Interceptor 650 is $4020 on road with 3 years warranty. Kudos to all your reviews. Subscribed.👍✌.
    *Did u forgot to mention about the sweet sound of the parallel twin and the smooth gear change.

    This is by far the best review I’ve seen on the Interceptor yet. Seriously considering buying one after my degree when I will finally have a life and some money to spare😂 I loved the shots and I enjoyed the conversational/ chat styled review. It felt honest and to the point. I’m also a huge fan of your riding gear. My Knox jacket and trousers lasted 7 years and saved my butt when I had a crash in Australia. From 01st September 2019 there will be increase in the price. And also for your information Interceptor is not a hot selling bike which requires long wait because thousands of units/month are manufactured at Enfield plant. Your bike is already available at dealership, tell your dealer that you won't bargain and he will give you by next day. All the Best.

    Fantastic overview and review of this motorcycle, folks! I like the team approach to the riding and letting both perspectives and opinions be heard. I believe you said there no electronics, but these do have ABS to be compliant with Euro requirements, don’t they? I think the pair of bikes with this engine really signals a leap forward for Royal Enfield. The looks, decent but not intimidating performance, and the mind blowing value (!!) position The Interceptor and the Continental GT as the go to for folks who want an entry into retro styled motorcycles. This place where you rode the bike has got to be every biker's wet dream. "English Lake District", I'm going to remember that. Respect from India!
    I'm glad that RE introduced these Mid Performance bikes for the international markets. Mid & High performance bikes are not practical for my country (RE staple market for its survival), as most people cannot afford it; as well the roads aren't consistent for people to ride powerful bikes on.
    That's why most of RE's bikes in the past decade were utilitarian focused and the company just focused on making profits with a marginal premium cost. Now that its healthy on finances, it wants a slice on international fame is what I assume.

    It could do with 15 hp more, just to knock the revs down at motorway cruise speed, as it vibrates a bit at 70, and for clean overtaking.

    The only other nit-pick i have are the tyres. Needs an upgrade right away and you're set!

      @Paul Boobier Hey hi, i have a couple of friends who own this bike complain about wobbling at high speeds due to the tyre. This bike deserves at least a 150 section rear, too bad it is 130.

    Great review, beautiful place to have a bike ride. Is that so much for a first bike? Thumbs up for you guys!

      Thanks Alysson, appreciate the feedback. Its a great first bike would really recommend it although it is heavy so you just have to think about that. Thanks, Aaron Knox

    What’s the helmet Holly is wearing? Great review by the way. I’ve got one, first 900 miles done. Love it.
