At first I laughed and started typing this light-hearted but now I'm kind of annoyed. So, I'm not going to go easy on you here because I actually do like your channel and I hope that you take this criticism seriously. 1. For the viewers... DON'T buy anything from Temu, anything because good luck with getting the warranty honored. But... let's be honest, that cheap sealer worked fine. You didn't clamp the tabs down so all the vacuum part of the process never had a proper so just hold in air from the outside. Plus, the bag wasn't seated properly so it was never going to seal anyway, even if it were the Nesco. Also those units have manual controls. Usually they have two buttons, one to both vacuum AND seal and another to seal only. The seal only is meant to be used with liquids so you don't suck them out. You didn't let us see up close so there was no way to tell what kind you had. 2. And the whole cheap bag stunt? You know as well as many of us that you can use any brand of sealer bag on any machine as long as it fits the width. On dirt cheap sealers just throw the bags that came with it away because they're useless. In fact even higher costing sealers they warn you to do that because you never know how long the machine has been sitting on the shelves or warehouse before you bought it. But as far as fitting? I haven't found a single one I could use in my no name sealer. 2. I'm betting you have an Amazon affiliate link for that Nesco down in the video description. I haven't looked yet but based on the fake sales routine I'm guessing he's selling it. Which is fine, you got a lot of steaks to pay for. Just don't treat us like we are stupid with the fake tests, it makes you look bad and it makes us less likely to trust you. Especially when there's no need, you could have bought a cheap unit from Amazon to test alongside the expensive one and included affiliate link for that if it truly tested well. People appreciate both high medium and budget reviews...but just...please don't tell these people who are trying to save money that they NEED to drop $100+ on a vacuum sealer. They don't. 3. I have three vacuum sealers I bought for my Sous vide machines back in 2017. Each are different brands+prices the first for home I paid $60, second was for the RV, it cost $20 & needed to be small to fit. The last one stays up at camp. It's the cheapest because...well, Camp. 😂 I think it was a bit over $20. All of them still work after seven years. All I did was pay attention to the reviews. You have to adjust buying tactics for today's Amazon. Things like only pay attention to verified reviews and NOT the reviews from "Vine Program" those are given to people as freebies to review. You want to try to get all your reviews to come from people who actually dropped their own money to buy it. They'll tell you what they really think. Look, I hope you take some of my advice to heart. If you need to pay for those steaks do a best picks for high-end, mid and low-end. I would never do a lot of sealing on anything less than a mid-range myself unless you don't mind treating them like throwaways but if you give it to people straight they'll trust you. Otherwise, I can't imagine the $$ from the affiliate link making up for the loss of a viewer. If people don't trust you they won't stay.
Temu is not a safe place to get anything. A lot of complaints of chemical burns from makeup, heavy metal contamination, and very low quality to the point of making it a hazard. I would not use that thing for food grade products and throw away any food in contact with it.
I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from you. For this video though, I think user error was a problem with the Temu vacuum sealer. The idea was excellent and I found a nice vacuum sealer on Amazon for $32 that will do the trick for me. Thanks for demonstrating how you use the vacuum sealer. Cheers.
I have a Temu vacuum sealer (albeit $43 not $13) and it works fine (for my needs) BUT - I had to play experiment to learn how to work it. I can see this man hasn't done his homework with the Temu one hence the failure. (different technique to his more expensive brand!). I had several attempts initially and failed ... user error as I hadn't learnt how to use properly. (you must click the lid down firmly into place at both ends, and do not double over the plastic ends). Mine works well, am very happy with it. 🙂. So, this was not a fair demonstration although I do appreciate his efforts. ps: obviously his more expensive model would perform better. I do love that the Temu one is small and portable - doesn't need the cord in while using so I can use it anywhere in the house, then charge with the USB plug when required.
If you buy FREEZER zip-top bags, fill them, then submerge the bag in a large bowl so it completely covers the food in the bag, then squeeze out all of the air, then close the zip-top, that bag will no longer contain any air, and becomes vacuum sealed! No need for a cheapo or expensive 'vacuum sealer' machine that will eventually fail. Plus, no electricity needed for the bowl submersion exercise. Old tip from my grandmother! The freezer zip-top bags are a heavier plastic than regular zip-top bags and should keep meat air-free and freezer-burn-free for months.
We are a hunting family and I have used FoodSaver for decades, I have had meat that is 7 yrs old and still great . You also need to keep your meat ect in a Manual Defrost freezer, they Won’t dedicate your food like frost free freezers do . We have 3 freezers and all are manual defrost and stand up style .
I bought several cheap vacuum sealers over the years. Cheap meaning under $100. Just buy a good one people. You will be happier and save money over time. Buy once cry once when you get a quality appliance.
I use the LEM MaxVac 500 Vacuum Sealer and these 2 wouldn't have a chance. I ve had many and none can do 20 plus bags in a row like the max vac can, so if your like me and do a lot of sealing all at once don't bother with those, if you do 3 to 7 bags then I can see using one of these but they will overheat when doing a lot and will not pull a Vacumm or properly seal
I caught that too. Seems like a long time to be storing meat in the fridge. I'd be worried about bacteria exposure while the meat is out in the open and then just sealing the bacteria/other contaminants into the vacuum sealed bag. Great vid as always BW!
I bought a NESCO, as well. Didn't last even a year. And the NESCO "customer service" refused to replace a new machine. Went with a cheaper one ( an Anova that works very well). Don't waste a dime on the NESCO. Their bags aren't very good, either. One major issue with the NESCO is that its seals often fail. Can't say how many things I've pulled from the freezer that have not been in the correct vacuum state. Loose and air filled.
The only thought I've had while watching you was: "this guy has for sure too much money, so much waste (of the plastic material)". Oh, and "not much common sense available". You can buy rolls of almost ANY BRAND, and customize the size of your bags. Also, the first big piece you sealed with the large sealer, you could have at least 2 pieces of meat into the bag. You just keep them apart around 1", this way you are able to take one or 2 pieces out and re-seal. One can also clean the used bigger bags and re-use them, especially when you put again meat in it. I would not re-use already used (though cleaned) bags for anything that will be eaten raw, like berries or cut fruit, but anything that will be cooked I am good with. I am using vacuum sealers since the early 1990s (and have in the meantime a sophisticated one), and I use it A LOT, it really saves a ton of money - but not by cutting the bags waaaaaay too large/long. There are also different widths of rolls/bags available, also attachments you can seal mason jars (different sizes), I use these for storing dry goods. I make also sometimes custom made x-small or x-narrow bags for freezing portions. Anyhow, it is clear that this presentation was your first use of a vacuum sealer, and you did not perform well, let's say: you struggled, read the instructions before you use a device and make a video. Sorry, Bud.
Liking your vids. I understand pulling the links for products in older videos, but feel free to put links for "alternate suggestions". Again, great content - I've been bing watching your vids
I have had a bad experience with mechanical things from Temu. Temu is a great place to buy silicone spatulas for the kitchen, I was sad about the electronics. I would have no such objections to the price level. I have a vacuum cleaner for about 18 dollars from Lidl and I am satisfied with it.
You are allowed to read the instructions! I have the cheapo unit and it works great. Perfectly. But, then I read the instructions on how to use it. Hint: you can't remove pressure from your hands on the unit until it is finished sealing the bag.
It's pretty obvious you didn't read the instructions. Sometimes TEMU stuff does not come with instructions, so you could have mentioned if that was the case. I can't really judge the unit if you used it incorrectly.
Does a vacuum sealer work substantially better than a ziplock bag if you push the air out? What's the difference in price between vacuum sealing vs Ziplock?
Actually, my roomie is a manager at Walmart. He has to go to schooling thru the state for codes and etcs. One thing about vacuum sealers, it's alllll about the thickness of the bags. The thicker the bag (like compared to ziplock), the longer the meat can last (without freezer burn). Hope this helps. God bless and have a wonderful Easter
push it down until it clicks and locks in place. If it won't do that than it is trash cause you will never get a good vacuum. Thanks for the video. Awesome content. :-)
After getting a chamber sealer (JVR Vac100) I can never go back, but it's handy to have a channel sealer with a wide seal bar around in case you need to seal a rack of ribs or something that won't fit in the chamber.
A chamber sealer is my next buy. I am probably down over a $300+ in decent sealers over the years but they never seem to last. Our current one is still working but being able to do liquids is a huge bonus, so hopefully having both covers the quick and easy and heavy duty work.
I'm trying to make myself pull the trigger on getting a JVR Vac100. A lot of time and research says that is my next move. For nay sayers check it out for yourself!
@@originalname9999 Yeah, I highly recommend a JVR unit as they're all designed where the top just hinges up so you can work on anything inside, and they sell replacement parts for everything in there. For all the others, as far as I know you have to ship a 85 pound machine back to them and wait for them to fix it. A chamber sealer will save you a fortune in the long run in bags. I used to spend about $200 a year in FoodSaver rolls to make bags. When I got the Vac100, I got 500 6x8" bags, 500 8x10" bags, and 500 12x14" bags, all for like... $126 or $162? I can't remember, but it was in that neighborhood. That amount of bags should last me a few years I'd guess.
@@desertfox3860 I will say there's a learning curve with it vis a vis the filler plates. Each filler plate basically means you can take 2 seconds off the sealing time, but if you want to use 12"x14" bags in it, you need to remove all the square filler plates, because the extra depth makes up for the extra length and the bag will be too long otherwise. I felt like an idiot when I figured that out.
My biggest concern with a none branded product from a site like Temu is food safety. You have no idea what chemicals went into making those plastic bags. At least with a product from a big consumer brand you can assume they are regularly doing tests on materials sent by their suppliers.
A video comparing the quality of the sealing and vacuuming capabilities would have interested me. This video wasn't it and looked really dishonest to me. I wonder if the fact that you have an affiliate link thus making you money off of one influenced how you reviewed the products. The TEMU vacuum sealer probably works a lot better when you follow the simple 4 step instructions that are shown on the site and are probably included in the packaging. 1. Fill the bag (do not over fill) and place opening in vacuum chamber. 2. Close the lid and lock the side buckles. 3. Press the "vacuum & seal" button, when the red light turns green again, the sealing is complete. 4. Toggle the exhaust valve, open it and take out the bag. I have wondered for a while if you get what you pay for with vacuum sealers this video just makes me question how bias you are on all of your videos.
Thanks for doing this vid. I have a food saver paid $120 for it. It vacs and seals like it’s supposed to but I noticed there’s parts of my steaks are freezer burned. And also when I took the frozen ones out and put them in the fridge the steaks turned brown. Can you explain what I’m doing wrong?
Understanding that you butcher large pieces of meat, I’d Iike to make a somewhat different request. Could you instruct us how to go to a regular (such as Kroger or Albertson) grocery and pick out a good chuck roast, rump roast, etc. What to look for like sections, or marbling or grain in particular areas. This type of instructional would be extremely useful. Thank you.
I wish you’d realize that anyone who cares that much about preserving great steaks isn’t wasting money on anything Temu. Maybe try a mid range sealer? My butcher says he spent $30 on his first sealer and still uses it and it works perfectly fine though he’s has an upgraded sealer too. It’s a little insulting to compare Nestco to Temu. Or even Walmart to Temu.
for the temu one actually you are doing it wrong, it won't work the way you did it , this is the reason why you didn't got the best result as you wanted
Why, if you're gonna spend money on GOOD steaks (and other meats) would you WASTE that good meat in a crap sealer?! Save your pennies, buy the sealer first and THEN start buying and storing "big meat"!? Really, folks. Carnivore for 6 months: down 40 pounds, feel BRILLIANT!!
Sorry mate, but this is what happens when you don't try to understand how the device you are using works. The air isn't sucked out by magic. It needs to be airtight so the pump can take the air out of the bag, not from the whole kitchen. Pressing it for a couple of seconds and then taking out your hands hoping that by miracle it'll work is not the way to go. Put the bag opening in the chamber (not everywhere like you seem to have done), close the lid, lock the lid clamps. THEN it'll work. Listen, take this is constructive criticism. Don't give up making videos because a bunch of us are criticizing you. Take it as experience building, and next time, read the instructions or actually look at the device you are trying to compare. It was easy enough to see the clamps and figure out their purpose.
Of course the Temu didn't work. You didn't operate it properly. You have to hold the lid down the entire time it is undergoing the sealing process. That said, it is a cheap piece of crap compared to the more expensive one.
This is not a good video, could you not see and feel the lid of the sealer moving as you let go of the smaller unit? Please reconsider or reupload by doing it properly so we can get a fair comparison
Ok, so you basically didnt read the instructions on the cheap one so that it didnt work, so you could push you Amazon affiliate link and get a commission from every sucker that believes this was a real comparison and buys it.....great job.
Lousy comparison clearly intended to leave a negative review for the TEMU vacuum sealer. I guess you read the manual. It clearly says hold the lid down until the vacuum pump has done its work. But to make your scheme work, you fiddle around a bit with the device. If you take yourself serious stop making reviews on UA-cam, and stop wasting your and our time!
The more I think about your review, you have one in 1,000 thumbs up to views. You should delete this because it makes your products, that you demonstrate, such as your own knives seem less credible.
An entertaining, but ultimately useless comparison. Obviously a $13 unit is junk. Would've been better to test some thing more reasonable like a 40 or $50 version.
First off I am not a hater. But l personally am not buying any more cheapo knockoffs. And vacuum sealing is the most expensive option, I will only use it for loong term storage. Butcher paper that is PFOA&PFOS free placed in a freezer bag that you submerge in cold water to displace the air works good for at least a year. But I run 3 freezers. Also, I wouldn't feed my pets those steaks you make from Costco. Come on we are all getting pinched, but let's not focus on price alone and stand back and look at the big picture. Family farms are going away for a few pennies for f**ks sake. Maybe I'm crazy but once 3 multi national companies control the industry you will not have an advantage... It's easier today than ever before to find a farmer raising healthy happy meats for not much more. UPS will bring it to you! Okay I'm done I still watch your stuff to improve my game...thanks for your content...l guess I was hoping maybe you could enlighten others. Mark
Not only are you using it wrong, you seem to be touching raw meat and spreading it all over the machines, bags and counter. A butcher should know not to do that! 🤢
Wow that was painful to watch just hold down on the lid! Anyone that’s used vacuum sealers knows how some work. Read the directions instead of make fool of yourself in a vid
If you close the lock clamps on each end, it will work fine. It can’t vacuum if the lid is open.
Or if the open end is wadded up and not placed properly where it needs to go. Poor demo.

I would love to hear from him on this 💯👍
Temu is not a safe place to get anything. A lot of complaints of chemical burns from makeup, heavy metal contamination, and very low quality to the point of making it a hazard.
I would not use that thing for food grade products and throw away any food in contact with it.
Make sure you have a Geiger Counter on hand too.
I do love that the Temu one is small and portable - doesn't need the cord in while using so I can use it anywhere in the house, then charge with the USB plug when required.
please, read instruction first and after that start the test.
you didn't lock clamps on both sides of cheaper one
Is the chest style better and the stand up style is just more convenient?
Also what temp do you usually keep the meat in? Thanks
I have the number one seller, actually paid $132, Amazon. Bet mine last YEARS, and that cheap thing is done in 6 months.
I bought several cheap vacuum sealers over the years. Cheap meaning under $100. Just buy a good one people. You will be happier and save money over time. Buy once cry once when you get a quality appliance.
you should look at the Avid Armor - Chamber Vacuum Sealer Machine USV32..have had mine about 2yr i love it.
All right, got a notice on this one.
I know it keeps for a VERY long time in the freezer, but months? In the fridge? Are you sure about that?
how do you think they wet age beef? its done under cryo-vac
I caught that too. Seems like a long time to be storing meat in the fridge. I'd be worried about bacteria exposure while the meat is out in the open and then just sealing the bacteria/other contaminants into the vacuum sealed bag. Great vid as always BW!
@@scottv781 My thought exactly.
It looks like there were two clamps that weren't clipped in during your test of the Temu unit.
Great vid! - I have done a LOT of vacuum sealing, and meat (beef) does in fact keep for years, plus most anything else too. - Cheers!
Sorry, Bud.
At $120 the Nesco isn't an expensive vacuum sealer. Some of the Foodsaver and Cabela's machines are twice as much.
THAT WAS TRULY A LAME ATTEMPT !! IS THE NESCO PAYING YOU ??
You need to show a chamber vacuum sealer as well
Straight and to the point. Great channel dude!
Liking your vids. I understand pulling the links for products in older videos, but feel free to put links for "alternate suggestions". Again, great content - I've been bing watching your vids
label the bag first makes it a lot easier.
Read the instructions😂, thanks for the video.
I wish you would have done the comparison with one from Walmart. Id be more likely to buy from them then Temu.
If you're not planning on storing it for years good old butcher paper keeps fine.
rice and beans for shtf? which is the easist to use for dummies?
Looked like the Temu bag was designed for a chamber vacuum. They will not work with a standard vacuum sealer.
Thanks, had a good laugh!
push it down until it clicks and locks in place. If it won't do that than it is trash cause you will never get a good vacuum. Thanks for the video. Awesome content. :-)
hold the top down, you keep leaving it the top open
Chamber vacuum is the best
Where are my Ziplock homies!?
They have served me fine! I'm a carnivore so I do lots of meat in my freezer. I put 4 deer in this fall, all in ziploc!
Here! I can buy a lot of Ziploc bags for just the machine, let alone the plastic. I suck as much air as I can with a straw
Ziplock just doesn’t do it, if you store for longer than a week.
@Gunther-mt2bk You don't know how to do it properly then lol
@@inglouriousmofo and you’re just running you mouth
You can buy more bags.
How bout trying chamber vacuum sealer tests
Thanks, Wiz!
Not keeping the meat ice cold prior
Seems like an Ad to me. People are saying he didmt even use the other one properly
Of course, he recommends the more expensive sealer. He gets a better commission on that.
As we all know, real men "don't need no stinking instructions"!! This is exactly what I was thinking as I watched this video. ha-ha!
Thank you.
You can find better vacuum sealers at 20ish dollar mark that work just as well as the 120 dollar one. Temu, come on.
To bypass the ramblings of repeated, “let’s get started…” skip to 2:32.
You didn’t use the 2 clamps on either side to close the lid🤣
it does look like there is 2 clamps he should have used
you can use a bigger bag than a temu bag all though i don't think Temu has a good product
You get what you pay for. I’d go nesco
OK, so you make the cheap one look like garbage intentionally and then place an affiliate link to the expensive one ?
I wish you’d realize that anyone who cares that much about preserving great steaks isn’t wasting money on anything Temu. Maybe try a mid range sealer? My butcher says he spent $30 on his first sealer and still uses it and it works perfectly fine though he’s has an upgraded sealer too.
It’s a little insulting to compare Nestco to Temu. Or even Walmart to Temu.
The ends look like they are open on the cheap one? Every vacuum sealer has to clamp shut. I think you need to read instructions!
for the temu one actually you are doing it wrong, it won't work the way you did it , this is the reason why you didn't got the best result as you wanted
No offense... but TEMU? Seriously?
This is embarrassing on so many levels
RTFM dude
1st of all. you didnt use the temu one correctly. if you held it down the whole time l bet it would have worked just fine!!!
Like other commentors, I do not believe he read the instructions for the Temu device. Thumbs down for this bad review.
Dude what the hell? Did you even read the directions?
Lousy comparison clearly intended to leave a negative review for the TEMU vacuum sealer. I guess you read the manual. It clearly says hold the lid down until the vacuum pump has done its work. But to make your scheme work, you fiddle around a bit with the device. If you take yourself serious stop making reviews on UA-cam, and stop wasting your and our time!
You did NOT follow the directions! Mine works great!
This test paid for by nesco...
The more I think about your review, you have one in 1,000 thumbs up to views. You should delete this because it makes your products, that you demonstrate, such as your own knives seem less credible.
F>O>S
An entertaining, but ultimately useless comparison. Obviously a $13 unit is junk. Would've been better to test some thing more reasonable like a 40 or $50 version.
How to tell me to buy the expensive one without telling me to buy the expensive one. You were biased all along.
Okay I'm done
I still watch your stuff to improve my game...thanks for your content...l guess I was hoping maybe you could enlighten others.
Mark
RTFM
i'm disappoint in you. Clearly you were mocking the product without giving it a fair chance.
There's no accounting for intelligence.....
Not only are you using it wrong, you seem to be touching raw meat and spreading it all over the machines, bags and counter. A butcher should know not to do that! 🤢
is this real?, this guy doesn't even know how to operate the "cheap" machine
Not totally true. Oxygen, moister and dirt are the enemy. But, yeah vacuum packing is the way!
Wow that was painful to watch just hold down on the lid! Anyone that’s used vacuum sealers knows how some work. Read the directions instead of make fool of yourself in a vid
Unsubscribed over this one. Not a fair comparison.
100% user error on the temu item - really bad video
