I was at the Cross for the Cork v Longford match. We were anticipating a big win, but boy did we make hard work of the game. Longford played good football at times... fair play to them. Fortunately we had Seanie Maguire in our team. Very pleased (and relieved) with the 3-2 victory.

Before then you never heard about anything that happened in the world, because football was a genuine escape from real life.
Today there's plenty of opportunities for getting involved in all strands of political life outside of football.... These days in football unfortunately you have LGBT...Palestine... Black lives matter...F*CK the Tories....etc ..etc...
The world is divided enough without bringing it into an escape like Football imo.
