Sorry, but that's just an observation, and not intended to insult anyone.

It's not the focus at all, but can I just say that the massive outdoor cage they have for their parrot looks gorgeous? It's big, its got lots of toys, and while I'd be worried about pathogens spread by other birds, it offers a lot of visual stimulation for the bird as well. Parrots are difficult and noisy to keep, so the fact that they have a gorgeous bird who *isn't* the noisemaker is quite excellent

I use to have four Dachshunds. They are so loving and loyal goofy dogs. One of mine looked just like Sansa. I miss them terribly. Dachshunds can be a handful if not trained well.
But what a gorgeous Dachshund Sansa is! She looks like one of the original hunting dogs, not the modern show lines which are fatter and even more short legged than the original hunting Dachshunde.
My neighbor used to complain every time my dog barked before 8am. He even called animal control because of it and she only barked for a few minutes while she went out to potty. They are lucky to have understanding neighbors.

Idk but my dachshunds were bred to sleep 😂 the only thing they love was cuddling, sleeping, eating, repeat. They dont like playing. They love walks but not playing. They rarely bark.
I have a Dachshund at home, he's fine with the people he knows, but he gets so territorial when new visitors enter the house, he straightaway bites their clothes without warning. I've been training with him for over months, these dogs are so stubborn, he mostly just ignores my commands, certainly when there's distraction around. Same thing when we are walking together, he listens fine when we are alone, but as soon as another dog is near, he ignores me completely and refuses to make eye contact. I just don't know how to get him to stop being so territorial and aggressive towards visitors. Yes I've already tried introducing strangers on neutral ground and bringing them in, doesn't work. Yes I've tried many dog trainers that tried it, didn't work.
Why don't you try what was just shown in the video? Have your visitors throw some chicken pieces away from them to redirect his biting tendencies and when on walks do the "lets go" and turn away from other dogs. If you haven't already, watch more of the older videos to get more ideas on how to work with your dog, (yes, there are more training tools to use for your boy (sorry, I can't remember all of them right now) ) and you'll be on your way to having a well behaved dog. Good luck.
There's 3 techniques in this video: 1. Touch - for focus, 2. Closing the kitchen door and texting upon arrival, removed the barking triggers and 3. Is partially neutral ground, but I've seen Victoria use this in the front parlor... to make visitors a pleasant experience... In this case with food, but if your dog isn't food motivated use the toy. ... It's important to do these in order and to have them solid before moving to the next. If your dog doesn't listen in a excitable moment, you haven't practiced Touch enough. Five minutes, and at least 2 times a day... every day. Dachshunds are thick headed, but once they get it, it's gold... so be resilient. P.s. if you start out with food, you need to be able to have your dog Touch without food, because I swear, a life or death situation will come up when you won't have food and he will know you don't and won't listen.
