- My last video with Lucy the train cat on my model railway who sadly died during the making of this video. My You Tube channel has been a cat channel because 2 out 3 of my most popular videos stared her. A disaster for my viewings....There is not just a video with Lucy there are trains as well. The click bait picture is one of her on my school marking, she always got in the way. I did not have a last picture of her with the trains. Kind regards, Philip

From a family that also lost a furry family member this week our heart goes out to you and yours. It was a lonely day in the garden yesterday without one of my companions bugging me for treats and attention. Seeing Lucy climb the ladder brought back memories of my childhood cat who used to follow me up the loft ladder in my parents home when I went to play with my layout. Lucy's memory lives on...

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat Lucy. Cats and trains just go together. Mine doesn't join me often in the train room but will follow me like a dog where ever I go. My cat will climb up and down ladders and join me on the roof of my house sometimes when I do work up there. Talented!

I'm 63 & aim to get back into this as I sold most of my stuff at 16 when I got a moped. I had a gerbil that would jump in a carriage & go round on the train, through a tunnel then jump off when she felt like it 😃
I had so many gerbils, but they were banned on my Dad's railway.
My cat loved to follow me up into the loft, just like yours. Could never get her to come down unless she perched on my shoulders!

Years ago, one of my cats used to race up and down the ladder into my (then) trackroom - he also passed at 16-years - a good age. 🙀
Quite often I hear the meowing of one of the cats walking across the roof while another sleeps soundly underneath the layout - no ladders to climb either! 😺

I have a horsehoe of a 9cm gauge 1/16 scale tramway around the garden, behind shed and partly now behind bushes. Rails screwed to decking planks. It is a walkway for visiting cats and the overhead wire is well above them. Sadly I cannot go out too often as yap dog terrier next door barks continuously until I go in; no fun for me but cats are ok!
Yappy dogs are so annoying

We lost our little Terrier last week end. He was 18 years old this month. We had him from about 6 weeks. To say the wife is devastated is putting it mildly. He was very sick and living on pills.

I used to have an old Abby who loved the loft. As soon as I dropped the ladder, she would be there, and up in the loft to explore before I got a foot on the first step! She also lived to 16, in the last year blind in 1 eye, later in both, but she still got around without trouble.
Lucy will live on for you with these videos, but you will also miss her every time you go up :-(

So sorry to hear of your cats passing. They become like our children. They R as much a family member as any one else. It is truly heart breaking to lose your purr bud. We had 5 cats at one time. Slowly, over time they all went to be with God. I was vary close to 2 of our cats. My cat Jimmy Bean who would always wonder in the train room and promptly sit in my chair. Jimmy and I had 16 wonderful years together. O how I miss him. The last cat we lost was my daughters. Gerard was an fat orange cat. Whom never got in any trouble. We found Gerard in our garbage can one night. She was looking for food, so my daughters invited her in the house. You know how that goes, once in the house, they are here to stay. :) Gerard would come and sit in the train room doorway and ask to come into the train room. I'd tell her to common in, and she would. Gerard and Jimmy never got up on the layout. Some how they just new, this was a special room to me. Jimmy would claim my chair and Gerard would sprawl out on the floor, if she was not exploring the room. O the conversations those two cats and I had. Funny though, none of us knew what the other was saying, or did we? So my friend I feel your pain. I'm so sorry for your lose. In time, Lucie's memories will put a smile on your face. This is very sad news, Sir. Indeed, any animal that is a part of one's family is an immeasurable loss, & in that regard, my Son & I offer our hearfelt condolences. We also have a female cat - Winnie; she is just over six years old - & as you might expect, always gets involved when (our) trains are running. Lucy had a long, & no doubt, enjoyable life - a beautiful pussy cat. I wish you & yours well, & with the keen loss you must all feel at the moment, I trust that the sadness transition into recollections of the happiness that Lucy gave...

It is a very sad time and although some do not understand they are very much a family member.. The important thing is she clearly had a bond with you and you gave her 16 great years. Our Lucy made it to 20. Passed away after a short battle with illness in 2022.
